Well after a few books of revenge, murder and mayhem I needed a change of pace so I grabbed this out of my TBR
The Duke and I hope it has some laughs along the way :)

These are some of my guilty pleasures if you want some revenge, justice and unleashed violence, I happily recommend The Vigilante Chronicles (3 books so far) all on KU. Reading the original series
Death Becomes Her would be a small help but really not required.
Vigilante: Age of Expansionwww.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F94537M/

I finished
Kill The Farm Boy and while it was entertaining it is definitely not worth $14. It is a warped tale with a mix of "Lord of the Rings" and "Princess Bride" as a very basic main plot with scenes from almost every fairy tale you ever heard mixed in and twisted but sadly it was somewhat juvenile and crude in places. I would not pay more than $3 for it but it is a unique reading experience.

@Mindy - it is/was a exceptional series but the last 2-3 books were lacking and the finale was good as a stand alone but really disappointing for a series finale that I had followed for years.
And yes the "bad guy" who was never caught for 13 books was another thing that I tired of really quick. I would have a hard time telling anyone to read or not to read it, it was done exceptionally but an example of a series that went too long for the author's imagination to keep it fresh.
"not really worry about the over arcing storyline? " - not really, in order is pretty much required. I did skip one book towards the end without any real loss

re:
Kill The Farm Boy I am at the 50% mark and I am not sure what to make of this book. It is entertaining, I am pretty sure it is not worth $14 but it takes a piece of almost every fairy tale you ever heard plus a bit of "Lord of the Rings", "The Princess Bride" and probably a few others I have not noticed or don't recognize and twists it in unique ways. It may be one of the most original books in spite of all the pieces they stole and walks a fine line between entertaining and silly depending on your sense of humor. Will post more when I finish

I am not sure I am going to recommend anyone spend $14 on it until I am finished and it becomes just freakin awesome but it does look like it will be something to get from the library for an enjoyable reading experience. I still have a long way to go since I am at the 25% mark and I am not kidding about that "Lord Of The Rings" comment, it really does look like they used it for the basic outline of this story (very basic) since the "hunter" is a clumsy female, the warrior is a very large female, the "wizard" is the most inept Dark Lord in history and we have just got to the land of the elves and the title character farm boy part looks a bit muddled but he is pronounced "The Chosen One" by a drunk pixie :) Getting the insanity part now LOL and the authors brazenly steal from from Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty in places (and pretty sure we have a "Alice in Wonderland" character involved). The unbelievable part is that I am really loving all this chaotic mess LOL

If Shelly Laurenston or Jennifer Crusie had written "Lord of the Rings" you would have a good idea of how
Kill The Farm Boy is going, an enjoyable trip into insanity :)

Well I just finished reading a book I had to review for Paranormal Romance Guild and it was mediocre at best for more reasons than I care to list here except they insulted me by letting a slew of people treat the heroine like dirt and NOBODY was punished in any way (WTF??) and since I am the resident revenge junkie I was highly insulted, so I decided to look and see what looked interesting in my ARCs that was coming up soon and I grabbed
Kill the Farm Boy which releases in 10 days has to be the most horribly priced Ebook I have ever seen at $14 even if it is about 400 pages BUT for those with money to throw around I have to say that they have me totally hooked at the 5% mark. Will let you folks know if it keeps good enough to even consider that price but might be a great thing to get from a library.

When you need some quick reading and don't mind a lot of violence and cursing I would recommend the Quincy Harker series by John G. Hartness, they are cheap (or FREE if you are part of KU). His uncle is Dracula who is masquerading as a kindly old man these days with a Renfield servant who is inhumanly efficient :)
The reading order is hard to find sometimes but the first 3 are:
Raising Hell - A Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter NovellaStraight to Hell - A Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter NovellaHell on Heels

Well I went to look at a book today
Uprooted since it sounded really good but once again I see "You purchased this item on December 15, 2017." but since I bought it apparently it won several awards and the book I bought for $3 is now $10 ????

I know several of us enjoyed
The Duchess Deal and for anyone who has an Edelweiss account and likes Tessa Dare the second book in her "Girl Meets Duke" series called
The Governess Game is up for request

For those who need to know
Magic Triumphs and
Phoenix Unbound are both up for request on Netgalley

@ Melindeeloo - re:
Unlit - wrote her and this is the response which makes the ending a bit more logical now.
"The only thing that connects the next book--Cursed--to Unlit is the world and the magic system. There's new characters & new lands (Each book in this series is a stand alone)"

RE:
Unlit - Melindeeloo, does it seem like they will need to shift to a new location maybe? They really seemed to have wrapped things up in this book but they talked about several more countries/empire that nobody had been in touch with since the big war. I may drop her a line and see if I can get a response.

re:
The Undying King is one of her better novellas and I have chatted with her about it and she hopes to revisit the story but her plate is really full for the foreseeable future sadly, you will love the story but will be wanting more when it ends, I read some 2-3 Star reviews mostly because she did not make it into a full blown novel rather than review on the actual story. I found it unforgettable and hope we do see more of the characters but that desire for more does not take away from a 5 Star story IMHO, 4 Stars even for the hard hearted LOL

This was the book most of us read
The Duke's Tattoo and this is the new book by Kerrigan Byrne in her Victorian Rebels series (which everyone should read the first 2 books at a minimum)
The Duke with the Dragon Tattoo which is about the seemingly pirate type character The Rook from the last book (which is not required reading to enjoy this one since they told us almost nothing about him)

For those who read the The Soul Summoner Series the latest book is out
The Regular Guy: A Nathan McNamara Story but the first 5 books are on KU for FREE but this one is not and is $3.99 but I had $3 credits built up so it cost me 99 cents.

Well it happened again, I was perusing through some titles in my email and saw this one
The Dead Key and it sounded really good so I pull up the page and there it is "You purchased this item on February 5, 2015." this is getting old .....

I finished
Unlit in a marathon reading session that lasted about 12 hours and loved it, I am not sure what is supposed to happen in a future book 2 since it looks like everything was wrapped up in this book (which I also loved)
