222868 I finished The Other Side of Now and while it captured my attention and imagination, I felt a bit let down at the end since I wanted the fairy tale ending and I got a version of the Nicolas Cage movie "The Family Man" another great story with an ending while not bad was not the fairy tale ending, I would have preferred. So I give it 4 Stars for a great story that while not a bad ending just not the one I would have preferred.

I find as I get older I don't multi-task as well anymore :)

222868 Well at long last between taking care of sick dogs and other RL things I finished Death at a Highland Wedding and it was excellent and while being a whodunnit at heart I never guessed the actual culprit and there are several twists and unintentional red herrings to keep you from guessing. Now I want to start those Nora Roberts books I just got I feel I must work on my Netgalley backlog

Due to sick dogs and vet visits I am still trying to get through Death at a Highland Wedding which is really a great book and I hope to finish it tonight if all goes well and dogs stay well :)

222868 Well I think I have gotten over my reading slump and finished Portrait of the Duke and it was a solid 4 Star effort and since the whole series is on KU I grabbed the second book Music for the Duke which seems to have a darker plot to it, for reading once I get caught up a bit on my Netgalley items. First up is my long overdue reading of Death at a Highland Wedding since I love this series that I never thought I would care for, then probably Love, The Duke assuming I am in the mood and I did sign up for it

222868 While I am on the subject of Nora Roberts if you have not read these 2 consider this my ultimate recommendation, I consider them 2 of my all time favorites of any genre, especially the end of The Circle trilogy which was one of the books that got me to reading things other than science fiction, get this and read it, you will love it. I think a lot of us did read my other choice The Witness which was her 200th book and unlike some of the others she throws together like magic, she put some serious time in on this one and it shows.

222868 Nora Roberts publisher is sneaky :) I got a notice that I was approved for the "Lost Bride Trilogy" (which I had not requested) and after reading the summary of the story I was hooked so I downloaded books 1 &2 and found out that they never released book 3 to Netgalley (yet?), I have to go pre-order it for $15 (which I OBVIOUSLY have to do) but Nora Roberts has written some of the best books I have read and some real snoozers but this sounds really good. If you have Netgalley account you might want to check out the trilogy with the knowledge you might have to buy book 3 :) Since book 3 is not going to be released until November it still might show up on Netgalley but read the blurb about book 1 and see if it hooks you

I could have written that same post :( I loved that series and the ending of book 1 was one of the all-time best romantic endings of all time. I stopped reading when she released that Ilium and Aodhan crap.

222868 I have to confess I have gone over to the dark side. I have done nothing but watch Chinese drama for weeks now and :
A: It ain't cheap
B: They really don't have but about 2-3 basic plots

but revenge and surprise billionaire are 2 of the most used and I am a sucker for them

222868 Sounds like the same way I was/am about the The Iron Druid Chronicles written by Kevin Hearne, the stories were great I loved the dog he kept alive through magic because he could not stand to let him die but for reasons I can't explain I got through 3 books before I just moved on

Still trying to get out of my reading slump and watching really bad Chinese dramas on Dramabox and other similar services and I swear they ALL have the same basic plot but since it is revenge and I am a revenge junkie from years back I keep watching them LOL

I could not get past the first book, too many people that needed to die were still alive :)

222868 For the last few weeks I have been in a slump and then March Madness came so I have looked at a lot more books than I read but this one caught my eye and sounded like fun and the 2K reviews have still an almost 5 Star average I had to grab it, lucky for me it is on KU Hidden

222868 Well I now have 4 books in progress but I finally found one that is keeping me entertained but it seems that in the last few years historical romance has been my "go-to" genre and Portrait of the Duke is very enjoyable so far but we seem to be far along the road at only chapter 7 which usually means some horrible thing is in store since we have an evil jealous sister
