In an unrelated subject, one of the things I am able to do when I am taking care of dogs is watch TV but there is like almost nothing worth watching on TV now that Yellowstone has ended so I started watching House MD again (I watched it when it was on the air) and forgive my shock that those reruns are about 100% better than anything on TV )I am being told that Landman and Lioness are shows I should check out) but the point is that House Season 1 is 20 years old and still crushes almost anything I can find to watch as far as drama goes

Well, my reading time during the holidays has been greatly reduced and add to the fact that the book I have been plowing through
The Millionaire Marquess had better get much more interesting or it is about to become a DNF. We adopted another old dog and I always have them totally checked out (x-rays, exam, bloodwork, everything) and turns out she has a large tumor so she might not be with us a long time but she is doing great at the moment and guessing its the best home she ever had :)

Reading
The Millionaire Marquess and still not sure if I like it but there are several things that are being withheld from the reader that might make it a lot more interesting

Merry Christmas to all :) May your new year be filled with great books LOL

But she is married. So he starts investigating ...She wakes up tied to his bed. He took some of her hair and glued it to the angel on his Christmas tree. He swapped out her birth control pills too."That might be a bridge too far for me :)

I finished
The Beast Takes a Bride and it was very good even though our main couple were a bit stupid in their feelings and actions for a good part of the book. It was a VERY slow romance IMHO but totally worth it by the end of a soaring romance anyone would love and something I REALLY love is a long epilogue that covers all the questions you might have or at least almost all of them. I give it 4 Stars mainly because it spends an inordinate amount of time in things mindly interesting at best. It is a enemies to lovers story in reality but the fact they start the book already married adds another level of WTF to the story LOL

Death at a Highland Wedding and you are right, it must be invitation only since it shows up in none of the searches on NetGalley. I will keep watching to see when they put it up for us common folks :) It is about 6 months before it will be released so this is very early.

I don't know the details of this gentleman's passing but I knew a friend's wife who had cut her toe and it got infected and by the time they decided it might be serious it had become septic and she passed away within 2 weeks at the age of 35. I had a wound get infected many years ago but once it passed the stage of "a little redness" I got to the hospital and they kept me overnight and cleaned it up and shot me full of antibiotics. I joined a National Guard medical unit for a short time back in 1977 and learned about how serious small wounds can become if not treated. (I also learned how to deliver a baby and hope i NEVER have to use that knowledge)

Well, finished
Schemes & Scandals and gave it a 4 Star since it was a novella and some things moved a bit fast and I think she may be thinking of turning this into a bit of a romance in the future which I think would not add to the enjoyment of these books IMHO. It is mostly a "whodunnit" but since it is short the suspects are very limited so you can guess by the 60% mark, I think but I still enjoyed it and could hardly put it down. So I am starting another one I have been waiting to start
The Beast Takes a Bride so I expect some good reading for the next few days :)

Since I now have 3 somewhat healthy dogs, I have more time to get back to my reading and I finished
Cinderella at the Duke's Ball which was a low 4 Star but the reason was more to my feeling of bad people did not get what they deserved, the story itself was pretty good so 4 Stars was a fair rating. I am FINALLY getting to read
Schemes & Scandals and as I have said before when you have read several books by authors that are decent, you can tell almost from page 1 when you get a story by a more talented author as I consider Kelly Armstrong, about 30% done and hoping I can put it down and go to bed at a decent hour but that may not be possible if it keeps up this good.

Well, at long last I finished
The Playboy Peer and while it had a decent story and romance the sex was overdone to the point of just adding pages so it becomes a 3.5 Stars for me and since the whole "Unexpected Lords" series is on KU I grabbed the next one for future reading

Thanks for the birthday wishes :) 2024 has been a bit rough with my older dogs. lost 3 this year, 1 in Feb and 1 in Oct and another just last week, it is hard on the heart :( Of course being stupid I have already gotten 2 more this year that needed homes but at least for now all 3 are in good health.
In reading I am still reading
The Playboy Peer which has gotten much more interesting at about the 40% mark. With 3 somewhat healthy dogs I am getting more sleep which helps a lot with my tiredness so I can read without getting sleepy. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and FYI I have had 7 stents between 1997 and 2005 and a triple bypass in 2005 (which removed about 4 of the stents) and never felt better after the 6-8 weeks of recovery

At long last I finished
How to Tame a Wild Rogue and it was as good or better than the others in the series and as a romance it probably surpasses most of the others. I have the next book in the series but I have another one I must finish (I hate having 2 books started) so
The Playboy Peer is next. I feel like I am miles behind on many series now :(

I may have mentioned it before but we adopt older dogs and we lost one last week that was 16 years old and another almost died due to compications with his dibeties so my reading has suffered greatly and I am still trying to finish 2 books I have been working on for over a month it seems
How to Tame a Wild Rogue which is actually very good and with any luck I can finish this week and also trying to read
The Playboy Peer which I started by accident on my phone while waiting in the vets office.

Well, I still am not getting much reading done. We adopt old dogs and one has diabetes and is blind and I have to get up at 5Am to give him his first shot of the day and I still end up falling asleep when I try to read most days.
NOTE: I have started SuperBeets and I can tell a difference in my energy and it lowers my blood pressure so maybe I can get back to a somewhat normal day. Don't believe the commercials, it smells horrible and tastes just short of disgusting but I have learned not to breath while drinking and only use the minimum (6 oz) of very cold water to get it down quickly. Trust me, if it was not working I would not use it.

Well , I have not read much, I have been taking gabapentin for some pinched nerve pain and I fall asleep after a few pages LOL. I am finished with it for now so hopefully I can get some reading done.

Feel free to read my review after you have read it but all I really wish to say is that it is a poor follow-up to an exceptional novel.
