222868 The most direct link to Master of Crows in in the novella The Brush of Black Wings but you won't recognize it until you read Eidolon

222868 Well a day or so ago I was complaining about a time travel romance I was reading and the style of writing, well it leveled out and became a "can't-put-it-down" reading with a 4 Star rating since those first few chapters really did suck IMHO :) Beneath the Lake was so good I bought book 2 Beyond the Mist and only 15% into the book and it already has me riveted and at least so far no overdone switching back and forth past/present

I have read pretty much everything she has written and they are all 5 Star IMHO with the exception of this last book, her first with a major publisher (all others were self published) Phoenix Unbound which I still gave 4 Stars but to me it read like some other author wrote it.

222868 Well in combing through my past reviews looking for something I saw this and thought I should recommend this to anyone that has not read it, exceptional romance/mystery/thriller 5 Star and you can read it as stand alone but the 2nd book ties right into this one and the last book could probably be skipped as far as the same series but was a great story on its own. (I think Melindeeloo read this also when I did somewhere around Jan 2013)

222868 @Vanessa - Glad to hear he came through it well, now your job is to keep him from doing stupid things we males like to do to show how manly we are :)

In the reading I am having to crawl through a book I accepted to review and while the story looks to be really good it is a time travel scenario and the author is like 1 chapter in present day and 1 chapter in the past, really sux as a writing style IMHO.

In hopefully better news, I grabbed this one just because it sounded interesting and I had a couple of holes in my KU list of 10 books which meant it was FREE, not sure when I get to read it but I liked the sound of the plot and the few reviews.

As I said in my review there are actually 3 plots and she takes care of 2 of them and mostly the 3rd one and I did not think it was too bad since you get an idea of what happened, the problem is you are already so wrapped up in what is happening you don't want to stop :) Objectively it was probably the best place to stop.

222868 WOW, the Goodreads Choice selections were woefully inadequate. Throw in that the "Best of Best" category only allowing 1 choice is more like throwing a dart at all the great choices. I must be the only person alive that is not in love with Sarah J. Maas

222868 @Vanessa - As a recipient of 7 stents and a triple bypass I can attest that assuming he does fine (and hoping he does), your big problem will be making him adhere to the doctors directions. You get to feeling a bit better after about 4-5 weeks but you are not healed yet. I will never forget my attempt to drive to the grocery store after about 30 days, I made it around the block and was in a cold sweat, surprisingly it seems it takes a whole 6 weeks before your chest muscles and such are actually healed :) Too many guys are like me but do more damage if not corralled a bit. She Who Must Be Obeyed was still working back then or I would have never been allowed out of the house to do anything but walk (again, according to doctors directions) LOL

222868 Finished First Earl I See Tonight and it was good, Solid 4 Stars I would say, good chemistry, a bit of a dark plot and a romance that all work together well, not up to Kerrigan Byrne or Julie Anne Long but entertaining enough to keep me up past my bedtime but at one point the hero finds out about something and I was able to scan through about 2 chapters toward the end to get to a very satisfying ending.

I would suggest after you get the original series of 4 books ending with A Fall of Water and before you move on to other books in this world she has created. that you read this very brutal novella which gives you a better perspective of who Tenzin is and who she was plus it is FREE on KU and only about 100 pages.

222868 Well I finished Fall and it was great, books 1 & 2 were so great I was wishing for the same level of enjoyment but this one while exceptionally written and a gripping story it was not at the same level of entertainment as those first 2 so IMHO while I found those 2 books to be 5 Stars I felt this one slipped a bit so 4 Stars.

I keep looking for good historical romance authors and so I agreed to read/review this one from a new series that releases in 4 days.

First Earl I See Tonight

hope it is good

222868 Well I finished Deception and even though I only remember snatches of the first 2 book this one almost stands alone but this is a great series and I love this book, highly recommend the series but read these 3 as 1 long story and it is exceptional and all are FREE if you have KU

222868 I HATE it when it has been so long between my reading a book in a series I can hardly remember what the plot was but reading Deception book 3 of the Facets of Feyrie and even having to try to remember things it is already good but been about a year and a half since I read book 2, trying to clean out my TBR a bit

222868 I usually tell people to wait until the next book is out for cliffhangers but so much other stuff happens in this book it is worth reading now.
