@Mindy - I loved
The Duke with the Dragon Tattoo but I hated the "flashback" part, I hate to get into a story and suddenly you spend a chapter or 2 in the past but it was required I guess but wonder if she could not have started the story there, it was great anyway.

For those who have been waiting for this book (like me) it is up for preorder
Fall Fall (VIP Book 3)
just FYI it is the ONLY "rock group" romance series that I think is worth reading, well written and exceptional IMHO, the rest that I am aware of or have tried belong in teh bargain shelf at WalMart if not in the garbage can.

Well let me see, my reading this week has been a bit hectic but I managed to read :
Breakeven which was a near 5 Star effort but only if you read book 1
Breakaway which gives you the background
After reading
Bone Driven which was 5 Star material IMHO it was hard to find something to read so I played some video games and then grabbed
The Duke and it seems to be a much better book than the first time I read it :) It also put me into a mood for more historical romance so I used some of my "No Rush" credits and bought this one
Romancing the Duke.
Sadly I am not sure when I can read them since I am behind on my reviews and
Lionheart is next followed by
Archangel's Prophecy

WOW, just finished
Bone Driven and it was awesome! Thanks for jogging my memory from the first book Melindeeloo , kinda wish I had read them back to back now. can't wait for the next one. She lives about 100 miles south of me, I might have to talk to her one day, she holds little get togethers in the local library down there from time to time.
Kindle version is on sale for 99 cents, suggest you grab it and book 1
Bayou Born if you don't have it yet

@Vinity - A Generac Whole House Generator was one of the best purchases we ever made :)

@Melindeeloo - thanks, that kinda fills in some blanks, especially the not all that friendly relationship she seems to have with her coterie and now I do understand the reason there has been little if any sex even though he is attracted to her. I usually remember things like this, wonder why this one seemed so foggy :) Maybe I scanned too much in book 1. I just remembered that I really liked it :)

Well one big question that seems like I am stupid ...... what IS she? I think that is the missing part that is frustrating me that I can't remember, obviously has something to do with the 4 Horsemen it seems

I am a bit frustrated, I am reading
Bone Driven and while I am not lost, I can barely remember what happened in book 1
Bayou Born and I don't have time to go back and try to reread it :(

[..."I have Red Sister and Grey Sister in my TBR but I am holding off of them on purpose until book 3 is released so I can read them all together, looks amazing.
Melindeeloo wrote: "doug - have you read the Colin McCool books? I think it was you that mentioned them. I think I tried the first. if you did, did you like them and does the series ramp up as it goes?"It does indeed ramp up and I loved it, I have gotten to book #6
Druid Enforcer and my review backlog has kept me from getting back to it.

Finished
The Christmas Wishing Tree and it was really good, sappy ending and all LOL. Sex is barely PG if that, mostly just a bit of a thriller that turns into more romance and the sappy ending:) It will leave you with a smile.

@Diane - The pages will display differently on different devices.

I have had
Bone Driven in my TBR for a LONG time now, I need to get it read before I forget the story. Pulled a book I was supposed to review last month out and expected it to be kinda boring since the title was
The Christmas Wishing Tree but turns out it is only mildly related to Christmas at the beginning and turns into a bit of a thriller and romance (looks like a PG level romance) but loving the story, can't put it down and it looks like it is part of a 16 book series but reads pretty much like a stand alone.

@LAB -
Consumed sounds interesting but I stopped reading her stuff because I tired of the torture and more sex than story novels, curious to hear if this one avoids those things.
Lulu wrote: "melindeeloo, I like Hailey Edwards! She also wrote the Black Dog series and my absolute all-time favorite series with a spider twist to it, and the only series I've ever read with a spider twist to..."I would never have thought I would love that spider based series as much as I did, I was sad to see it end

That makes 2 Hailey Edward series I am way behind on
Victoria wrote: "Hi all! Anyone has good recs for an audiobook? Have a credit to spend on Audible before I cancel my subscription. I'm just finishing Time's Convert by Deb Harkness, I got Iron & Magic (on audio for..."EDIT: I always assume people have read
Written in Red so if you have not, run don't walk to your computer and order it :)
I can't speak directly to the audio but I keep echoing that
Kill the Queen is one of the best books this year IMHO and the best "first in the series" book in years that I can remember (
Death Becomes Her might be the best but since I know the whole story now my opinion may be biased) :)
Diane wrote: "Doug:
Regarding Kurtherian Gambit, my husband is reading the series. Do you know the best order for reading all of the spinoffs? Or is there a link somewhere?
Thanks"Diane, read the original series first (some of this may be obvious but rather be safe) starting with
Death Becomes HerThen my lukewarm choice for 2nd series is the Michael based series starting with
The Dark MessiahThen go to
Justice Is Calling: A Kurtherian Gambit Series (this can be read 2nd as I did and might be a better choice for second series reading)
Each of these series has a sequel series you will want to read after you read these series, this is like 40+ books and I have burned through them all LOL
My next recommendation might be
Vigilante: Age of Expansion (loving this one, kinda a Death Wish in space without the family & murder rape stuff, just bringing "justice" to the evil doers ) LOL
If he wants a bit more like Robert Heinlein he might want to try
The Bad Company: Age of Expansion - A Kurtherian Gambit Series

I don't know if I am imaging it but it seems like we are getting more new releases from..."I was just looking at this about an hour ago and wondering if I wanted to dive into another one of her series. She can be great or lame, you never know which way it will go.

Not as bad or at least I did not notice it as much since the story was madly addicting. IMHO
