It was not her best work by a long shot, I probably gave it 1 more star than it deserved but she devoted all those pages to how he was going to romance her and then did none of them, seemed like a way to waste pages.

222868 Well I read award winning A Memory Called Empire which was a good story but dragged out a bit and I also do not like subtle social or political manipulation so even though I got the ARC for the sequel I won't be reading it. I finished Devil in Disguise and it started off great but felt rushed, too many pages devoted to sex and a very dull ending that even I with my very limited talent could have written a better one, again felt rushed. Trying to decide between 3 and 4 Stars and I think if it was any other author I would give it 3 Stars so I will try to put away my love for her other works and give this the 3 Stars it deserves sadly. That is 2 of my favorite authors that have put out books that are way below the quality of previous works since Exposed was a DNF disaster in a series that the first 2 books may be 2 of the best contemporary romance novels I ever read.

222868 Has anyone read any of this series? Sounds interesting but I thought I would ask since her writing seems to be a bit random from really great to really boring

222868 Congratulations LAB, sounds like they system makes it really hard to get started.

I am reading another book that won almost every award in the SF genre, did not think I would like it but it kind of pulls you in slowly and you have no idea where it will go next. Exceptional reading so far and I am only 1/3 of the way through it.

222868 Sadly I had to give up on Exposed , plot was juvenile, the main couple was uninteresting and the "prize" for lack of a better term was that he gets to have sex with her. I am sure somewhere along the line they fall madly in love but the trip was boring. Now I have to figure out what kind of review I want to write or maybe none at all since I paid for this with my own money . I got to dig through mount TBR and find something good to read

222868 I also loved the Darkest London series even though I was not loving the ending but she had kind of painted herself into a corner and not many paths left.

It costs about $50 for the complete series but worth it IMHO

It is the first of a very good trilogy, Amazon says I bought it in 2015 and each of the other books as they came out

222868 I have loved Kristen Callihan's VIP series, the first 2 books were freakin amazing but book 3 was more of a low 4 Star and book 4 I am trying to read and keep thinking I have better books to read. I think this may be a case of trying to produce a book where there was not a story, at the 25% mark and bored with love/hate/jealous and pretty much no humor which is what made those first 2 book so wonderful. If I am not enthralled by the 35% mark it may become a DNF :(

222868 I wanted something different and was going to read this book In the Heart of the Fire but since I am a revenge junkie and this whole series is basically 1 revenge story after another by a guy who can't remember past 2 years ago and works for a shadow organization that deals out vigilante justice for some really evil people I ended up getting the whole series which kind of oddly they have broken into Season 1 and Season 2, most stories are stand alone pretty much after you read the first one to get the background and they all so far have been on KU. They all are about 60 pages give or take a few pages but as with many well written stories they seem much longer. If you have an interest in true justice this is your series and did I mention he is somewhat psychic and has visions that sometimes help, sometimes not and sometimes give a hint to his past life he can't remember. When you just want something different for 1 night this is a great series to read as random as you wish.

222868 I love Murderbot, the worst book in the series is probably better than 60% of the books I ever read.

222868 I finished To Sir, with Love and did get some laughs, it was entertaining but if you have seen the movie "You Have Mail" there is not much in the way of surprises except for that unbelievable $12 price tag. I gave it 4 Stars since I read it all and enjoyed it

222868 Well one of my all time favorite Rom-COM was "You Have Mail" and so when this one came out with a similar plot I had to give it a try so starting tonight, we shall see if it lives up to the hype (and the fking price of $12 for a Kindle contemporary romance????)

To Sir, with Love (and for $12 they could not get an original title?)

It better be good :)

222868 Well I think I may have to give Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door 5 Stars, it might be close but I was laughing a lot and loved the insanity

222868 Well contemporary romance is not one of my favorite genres unless it is really good but I am really enjoying Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door a bit depressing economically but still humorous and just enough mystery to weave it all into a good story and I am only at 20%. Can't find who recommended it first but good job.

Welcome, we started this topic on Amazon many years ago and then they shut down the forums so we moved here to keep things alive and we talk about a bit of everything in addition to our books :)
