222868 I just finished book 5 of Murderbot and bought book 6, sneaky the way they up the price for each book, this one cost me about $12 but I am hooked so I had to buy it :)

222868 This is free to everyone today (and the rest of the series is 99 cents each) I have read several books by these authors and usually a good story so book 1 is free, I would give it a try or just tuck it back in your TBR for a rainy day :)

I have really enjoyed the vast majority of her retold fairy tales but I have a list in my head of the best things I ever read and this is one of them, it is free on KU but I bought it so I could reread it from time to time (and I reread almost NOTHING)

NOTE: The story is in the first 2 books and it was so exceptional I still have never read book 3 which is more of a collection of things in the same world/characters

222868 I never really thought we had limited this forum to PNR/UF anymore. Reading the latest Murderbot book at present, always a great read.

222868 Anyone with NetGalley account might want to check this one out , I just finished it and I gave it 4 stars and it is book 1 of the series and which I thought was very entertaining and a heroine that did not have to be rescued all the time,

222868 I am still on a "Goode Girls" marathon :) This one is a Christmas story and a novella but the story sounded fun and curious to see how a romance with a ghost works out. Making Merry

PS: Not really sure why this is even listed as part of the series, I see no connection other than time period

222868 The gushing reviews don't bother me as much as the ones that go on for short story length like they are some kind of college professor writing a summary. Usually unless it is done VERY well a review over 2 - 3 decent paragraphs is getting too long. I try (and fail sometimes) to keep mine short but give a reader a reason to read the book and why I liked it (or hated it) so much

I love her books but even as a rabid fan I did notice a few slips of more 20th century jargon a few times. Book 1 is considered book 7 of the Victorian Rebels series also (I love those)

This was a great 4 Star novel until the last few pages, then I HAD to give it 5 Stars and can't wait for the next one.

222868 I got an ARC for the 4th book in the "Goode Girls" series by Kerrigan Byrne because I thought I had read the series, turns out I had read book 1 only and now have read book 2 (excellent) and started on book 3, a labor of love I guess but it has thrown off my reviewing schedule since they have all been very good.

222868 OK, I looked it over and "Bad Guy" has the look of a really good and funny story, I hope it lives up to it , you need a good laugh from time to time. I kicked another book that has lost its luster from my KU list and replaced it with "Bad Guy"

222868 I have to tell you about a new book you REALLY need to read, I am only at 35% and I have had to force myself to go to bed for 2 nights running. Plots on top of plots, add in a bit SF with a hint of paranormal in a real thriller and you have this one and it is on KU also if you need it. Hope you don't need a lot of sleep, seriously, if you are not hooked by the 20% mark, DNF it

222868 This is a new release but the premise just sounded good after weeks of fantasy and then historical romance.

222868 The book that really gives you the best start to the Blackwell brothers series is the sort story of Red and Cassie (the culmination of their story is the last of the 5 book set) but you have to sign up for her news letter to get it . It is worth the trouble if you plan to read the series

222868 I just finished the final book of teh Blackwell Djinns and it was great, I give this a 5 Star rating as a series since I really enjoyed it for the most part, might be a bit oversexed in places but she gave the last book a lot more effort and really ended the series on a high note with a "I never saw that coming" ending. You can get the first 3 books for $5.99 at this link. There is/was a first short story of how the head of the family and his soul mate met so you have an inkling of the way they act as she pops in and out of the books but it seems to be unavailable. Highly recommend these books for the overall story, once you are hooked you can buy books 4 and 5 :)

222868 John G. Hartness does not do much of the exact cliffhanger endings but he will have the main thingy solved and throw something new at the very end to entice you to the next book and so he did and so I am reading the follow-up to Inflection Point: A Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter Novel which was pretty awesome but this is NOT a series you can start in the middle and the book order of the early books can be confusing but I am loving Conspiracy Theory tonight
