Sadly #5 is the one I just bought and #6 is not released yet but I paid $35 for the first 4 :( I wish I had looked around for a better deal but it was still worth it :)

These damn Murderbot books are expensive but worth every penny
I just paid over $15 for the next Murderbot book, I am pretty sure I have not paid that much for a book in years unless it was one of Mark Lawrence's books

And that ARC I was gushing about
The Diamond Rose: A Sentinel 10 novel as luck would have it crashed a bit right after I posted that positive comment. It went from a high 4 to a 3/3.5. Another book with great potential that the author did not have the talent to make it into the near 5 Star novel it could have been.
I should point out that for a first book for someone who has a demanding full time job it was a great effort.

Dammit, thieves got me hooked on the Murderbot books and after paying $4 for the first one (which looked like it has won every award imaginable) you can't stop and the cheapest one of the rest of the series is $11. Well I got to go shoot $11 to get the next one, not a bad one in the bunch so far, not even close to bad and very unique.
The Murderbot Diaries: Books 1-4

Has anyone read this? They need to put a block on books for my Amazon account until I read at least 25% of my TBR :) It looks so "shiny" I need help

Every now and then I accept an ARC from an unknown author and most of the time I regret it if I do not DNF it but every once in a great while you get a story you can't out down, this is one of those, not much romance yet (if at all) but a great urban fantasy novel and it is on KU. My eyes are drooping so I got to hit the bed but I will be getting back to this book as soon as possible I am at the 70% mark so far and it still is throwing surprises at me :)

Finished
The Golden Gryphon and the Bear Prince and loved it by the end although I was getting to hate it for a bit there, it seemed to be going no place fast but as her usual style it took off unexpectedly. I can't wait for the next one which is only about 2 months away. This is my short review:
Jeffe Kennedy has this knack of writing her books that tend to bore/frustrate me to the point I think I am not going to finish the story but somehow feel myself drawn back in and suddenly everything is interesting, exciting and romantic and I don't want it to end. This story did it in spades, I was bored in the first few chapters, then frustrated as it became more of an erotic and less about the main plot I felt. Somewhere shortly after this we were suddenly back to life and death and adventure and excitement. I was reading wondering what was next and really getting into it and turned the page and it said ...... THE END . Now I have to wait until 19 April to get back to the story, evil authors. So 4 Stars for a book that provided a lot of background we did not have and dragged me into a story that is now an addiction that I must satisfy at the earliest moment (that would be 19 April 2021 it seems)

I think I may have liked the secondary romance possibly even more than the first one. The first romance is a man who needs to ..."Is the whole series this good or just book 2?

I don't rate many books 5 Stars anymore but I did this one, released today and book 1 of a new series
The Spinster and the Rakehttps://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-re...

Tried to read
Hex, Love, and Rock & Roll and gave up at the 30% mark, I hate to DNF a book but if there was a story it was beaten to death with a ton of useless verbiage . Gave the reader a plot that might have become interesting and then stomped it to death and rambled around with little to do with anything resembling a plot.

I have fallen in love with the Murderbot books and am trying to make them last so I read one then read a few others than come back for another, while massively entertaining they never seem to go the way I expect.. I am reading a ARC of a new to me author Eva Devon and if she write like this all the time I shall have to add her to my autobuy list, only halfway through
The Spinster and the Rake which is a very misleading title. If it stays this good I may have to give it a full 5 stars but it seems I am reading a LOT of historicals that have the same basic of horrible, dull, mean Dukes (always a Duke) that has to be shown the light by the perfect female for him. While this does not make them less entertaining for me I do find it odd that so many use that same basic premise. I also find this one to be different in that I am over 50% through it and so far there has been no sex (but it is coming I am sure ), too many historicals seem to veer into erotica too often.
The Spinster and the Rake releases on the 9th of Feb

I should just cancel this, at about 4 years I am pretty sure I would be totally lost on any background.

Well I was browsing around Amazon and this one looked like a can't lose, got every award in SF looks like so I bought it and requested the ARC for the sequel
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...A Memory Called Empire

Thanks to whoever it was that recommended
Ianthe and the Fighting Foxes it has been one of the best things I have read in awhile that is great just because of a scheming horribly intelligent young woman and nobody is getting killed in the process and I am not even 50% through it and it is just one of those books you tend to smile while reading it.
Lulu wrote: "Thanks, Doug, that's disappointing. I like her Spindle Cove series.
Hopefully, she'll be better soon."I have yet to read anything by her that was not outstanding but some of the reviews on her first 3-4 books were not as good, she obviously honed her craft to a peak as she went along.

I just want to make a general announcement that I am really tired of spending useful time looking for good books and finding one only to go to buy it and once again "You purchased this item on xxxxx" , methinks I need to spend more time on my TBR

Well I just got an email from Amazon saying that my preorder of Tessa Dare upcoming book "The Bride Bet (Girl Meets Duke, book 4) " had been cancelled and I was WTF?? So I got the below information from her webpage
----------------------------------------------
Dear Readers,
Last week, my publisher and I made the decision to postpone my two upcoming books: The Bride Bet (Girl Meets Duke, book 4) and Love Letters from a Lord (a Spindle Cove novella).
I’m sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment. I’ve been putting off dealing with some health issues—nothing too serious or life-threatening, no worries!—and this year, my body and brain sat down like cranky toddlers and refused to cooperate until I pay them some attention. So I’m taking a little time off to do that, and then I’ll get back to making these stories as funny, sexy, and romantic as I possibly can.
As of today, I am not sure what the new release dates will be, but I will announce them when I do. If you’ve preordered one or both of these books, you may need place another preorder after the date has been changed.
Thank you so much for your understanding and patience. I’m so grateful for my wonderful readers.
Tessa

Well I am on a roll
Sinister Magic was exceptional and pretty much a 5 Star reading although her "snark" grew tiresome at times.
