222868 I finished the second book in the Lost Lords series by Cristi Caldwell In the Dark with the Duke and enjoyed it but the overwhelming effort to portray her as some sort of feminist in wanting to learn self defense in Victorian England just never felt realistic so you have to kind of throw that to the side but a great ending but I felt cheated from a good revenge story and it really should have had a epilogue. I think it may barely get to 4 stars only because of some very good last chapters. I DO love the premise of the "Lost Lords" and will start book 3 when it is released in a few days

222868 This is the most I have paid for a book in a very long time but reading the synopsis I could not resist The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires but I have to admit I am a rabid fan of the movie "Fright Night" both versions which may have made me buy it :)

222868 Holy shit, was loving The Princess Knight and with the last few pages she left me screaming for more and I have to wait for who knows how long. I did not see that coming

222868 With all the turmoil in the real world and nothing really uplifting to read I finally started The Princess Knight and remembered how to laugh out loud at a book :) I love this humor, pretty much the same as "DragonKin"

222868 Maybe it is just a phase but in recent months I have gotten a lot more enjoyment generally speaking from historical fiction than any other genre

222868 Sometimes I just want a good story and not to read for days and I saw this and parked it in my TBR for future reading, sounds really good, 123 pages.

222868 I get reviews rejected about 1-2 a month, usually a refence to a non-Amazon site or a picture that has a non-Amazon site (beware box tops and manuals), they also dislike the words "best", "greatest" and such descriptive terms . If it was a review with pictures/video I would resubmit the text and see if it is approved then you can add the pictures back 1 or 2 at a time

I have tried a couple and they just did not do anything for me and I could not get them to ring true in my mind so I was never "in" the story if you know what I mean.

222868 I followed her on Twitter and she had been very sick a long time with an aggressive form of cancer, the family posted this:

222868 WOW, the Goodreads choices this year suck more than usual. I voted for 1 book, read another that was average on a good day so obviously did not vote but it was full of crap on diversity, social justice and other PC things that had little to do with the quality of their writing but in the past they at least had a few of the best PNR/UF authors represented but nada this year.

222868 I made a mistake, I was waiting on something and thought I would read a few pages of Step Into My Web and now after 1 chapter I may not do anything else today but read this book :)

222868 Well still reading Beauty Tempts the Beast and at the 75% mark everything is good, HEA in sight but it is too early so you KNOW something bad is going to happen

222868 It has been a good while since I stayed up late and did not want to go to bed because of a book but Beauty Tempts the Beast is doing that and I really don't want to go to bed, great story so far

222868 In a Holidaze was a bit of a disappointment for me sadly. This is my whole review :)

The first half of this book went great, things were happening, you are trying to figure out what the end game is and then the story gets stuck in the mud and comes out a few times to keep you from just giving up but at the end I guess you could say they got their HEA but at the same time I was disappointed in the story I was hoping to get on the "groundhog Day" theme. This was a bit convoluted and I am not sure if I ever really got the reason for the time loop (which was a lot less trips than Bill Murray had). So I am possibly being too critical but I wanted the story I was promised in the blurb and that is not the story I got sadly.
