I am reading it now when I can (really busy) and I am really liking it but the plot seems to be moving REALLY slow but I hope I will be loving it at the end, we shall see.

That was hilarious, I used to have a review of a book called "Stung" that was my ultimate review goal was to write one that good but they got Goodreads to remove it somehow. I wish I had copied it off.

222868 Almost everything I have read by Lindsay Buroker has been very entertaining, back when this was a Amazon forum around 2013 most of us read "The Emperor's Edge" at the same time and loved it :) The "Fallen Empire" looks like a lot of fun

I think I read (or tried) "Uprooted" and DNF it, maybe that is why "Spinning Silver" has been in my TBR so long. Then again trying to remember what I have read using only my questionable memory means I don't know much of anything 100% :)

Another book that has been gathering e-dust in my TBR forever

The "The Circle trilogy" and the "Sign of Seven trilogy" are 2 of the best ever from anyone although I should mention that the latter was a mix of paranormal romance, thriller with a touch of horror but the "Circle Trilogy" was one of those series that made me add paranormal romance to my reading genres since at that time mine was about 40% SF and 40% Fantasy with a few oddballs in the mix :) Loved the ending to "The Circle Trilogy". Read some of her others which she hardly writes anything that could be considered "bad" but they never touched me like those 2 but the book she wrote for her 200th book "The Witness" was exceptional I thought.

222868 @Frisco - I had that same reaction to The Author Who Shall Not Be Named (Aussie Girl can tell you) she took everything that was wonderful about book 1 and perverted it in book 2, I have to admit my reaction was a bit over the top but book 1 was so good for her to have ruined the whole thing.

A lot of her early books in this series and the Queen Betsy were roll on the floor hilarious but she lost the touch along the way after a number of books, another of my auto-buy for many years

222868 I just read a review of The Legend of Deathwalker and the reviewer captured it for me in one sentence

"David Gemmell could have written about Druss (and Sieben) doing groceries and baking cakes and I would have enjoyed it."

I readily admit the members of this forum might not be as entertained by this type of story as I was :)

222868 Well of the 11 books by David Gemmell I pulled to read I have gotten through 5 and 6 more to go, they are a good departure from my other books. Great heroes, lots of action and gore, really tragic stories for the most part but pull you in and I need to get through them since I have some books I have to review later this month :)

Just finished this one, it was bittersweet but very good

The Legend of Deathwalker

at this rate I will need some historical romance to get my head back on straight LOL

222868 Finished the Waylander trilogy (I would never have known it was a trilogy if I had not been researching the correct reading order) and it may be one of the finest endings I have read in many years:

Waylander
Waylander II: In the Realm of the Wolf
Hero in the Shadows

NOTE: These are sword & sorcery in the vein of the old Conan The Barbarian , very little romance and what there is seldom ends well. Lots of action and great writing and a hero that is conflicted in many ways but is the best assassin that ever lived. He is hard to like at first until you get to know him and why he is like he is

222868 I have decided I am going to try to read the whole Drenai Saga by David Gemmell but trying to get a chronological order is proving to be a bit more difficult, I found one but I have since found there are more than 1 order depending on who made the list and on top of that some books are known by more than 1 name i.e. In the Realm of the Wolf is also known in these lists as Waylander II: In the Realm of the Wolf (mostly marketed as Waylander 2 in Europe as I find out) but I am about 80% through book 1 Waylander and really enjoying getting back to some serious sword & sorcery without the erotica. Not sure if I can get through 11+ book before I get bored but it does give me a goal since I must have been bored with the thousands of books in my TBR LOL

222868 Yes my daughter and grandson are about 10 miles from me but we are all keeping our distance until this is over but I loved that picture she sent me :) About the only things I have really changed are a couple of things:

I always have a mask when I go out
I only eat food we cook at home (I can cook just as unhealthy as fast food joints )

:)
