222868 Still reading In a Holidaze and it one of those books that I want to put down and read something a bit more exciting but it has just enough things going on I know I would not be able to stop thinking about it so I keep reading and wonder where the hell this story is going.

222868 After the amazing The Ippos King I had to have something WAY different to avoid book hangover and this one has been gathering edust in my TBR for months (maybe over a year) but it was the perfect break and it is a Cinderella story at its heart and I am always a sucker for those (she even loses her shoes at the ball) but from the subtitle (an Accidental Pregnancy Story) you can guess where this is going, lot of hidden story I am just getting to, not a bad start although the prince is a bit of an ass but I see signs of the hero we know he is going to be LOL

Congratulations, we all had to start someplace, I actually made the Top 1000 only on book reviews so it can be done (not sure how many years that took), the Amazon VINE Program is what got me into product reviews

222868 Well I have some ARCs that are not due until down in Nov so I get to read some of Doug's stuff (we will not speak of the TBR) so I bought 2 books and enjoyed this one The Heiress's Deception it is part of a series that is actually 2 series in a row about 2 competing clubs in London in the regency era and it was really good but some of the others were better. I had read the first 2 books in this series when they came out and was waiting for more and forgot about it, now there are about 6 book and so I grabbed this one today Manhattan Dragon the stories in the first 2 were really good even if the writing needed a bit of work, hope she has gotten better because the synopsis sounded really good.

222868 re: Lupi series - I also was a big fan but it just dragged on so long I just drifted away, it seemed to have lost any direction it had

222868 Just a note about that ceramic tile that looks like wood, we used it in our sunroom and if installed correctly it DOES look like wood but we were afraid it might be slick when wet since it is an entryway to the backyard so we got one of these to put down at the sliding doors but it looks amazing and you have to look really close to realize it is not wood.

(I love this also since you can clean it with the outdoor hose and let it dry in the sun) I am sure other people besides Sam's sells them

222868 Monadh wrote: "What are back cover reviews and how is that cheating?.."

There used to be what was supposed to be an old lady that read sometimes dozens of books a day, it became obvious that many/most/all of her reviews were using information that could be obtained from the back cover of the books. I read an article that said her son ran a bookstore and they sold the books there (obviously this was before the popular advent of Kindle) and so the term "back cover review" came about and I can't remember the name they used for so many years, it was a joke to most readers but since she only left 5 Star reviews for the books, no publisher or author cared. The name was Harriet Klusman or something like that

I find they have more humor than most genres and I love to laugh, if they have no humor I tend not to like the ones that lack it but the ones that Kerrigan Byrne writes are almost like the old adventure type books with a bit more romance thrown in.

222868 Well this popped up on my profile on Amazon today and you guys are about the only people I can brag about it :) It will be short lived since it was a bit of a quest, I am going back to reading books at my leisure, you have no idea the backlog of stuff I still have to review but I was curious to see if you could actually do it without doing "back cover" reviews and other ways to cheat. You can but it consumes almost all free time of your days and nights. I had more fun at Top Reviewer #1000 :) (you also get tons of emails from people you never heard of wanting you to review their book/product)
