I've already reread the last part of the book - I just thought the big battle was well done. Even though I think that both Elara and Hugh were too nice by the end - I liked the antagonism in the early part of the book - I thought that giving him that core of loyalty was a good step in his redemption. I don't know that he's there yet. I don't know that they are really in love yet either. Boy was that a weird love scene.

Here's the spoiler thread for Iron and magic..

Here's the place to talk spoilers about Hugh's book:)
Okay, so do you still hate him?

Oh, and I read the new Paladins reboot
In Darkness Transformed I liked being back in that world.

I also just finished Matchmaking for beginners and I thought it was sweet too.
I also read
The Hating Game which was a good enemies to lovers and a nice build up to the romance

The books in the Servants of Fate series are on sale for 1.99 and free on KU. Book 1 is
Marked
. It is UF with a bit of romance in post apocalyptic Boston which is now a canal city and has bits of underworld myth - the leading lady's family are Ferryman for the dead.
I quite like this author - She also has a new series starting in July with Immortal Card Dealers - I was lucky enough to get a Netgalley ARC - who use their cards to perform magic that steers the fate of the world. This will also be KU when it is released.
The Serpent
Doug..." saw your review of Iron and magic on Wicked Scribes, awesome review - i am so readY for Hugh's book.

I feel like mixing in a romantic comedy, anyone have suggestions for an author? I was looking through the audible romance package but don't recognize many names. Has anyone read Jill Shalvis her animal magnetism series is a choice

I finally finished
Ocean Light, i did it in audio and I may have to reconsider doing Psy/changling in audio in the future. I am not sure if it is the reader or Singh's dialog, but the normal parts of the conversations just feel over dramatic. I don't have the same reaction in print, but I keep forgetting that and the high kindle price sends me to audio again since the credit feels cheaper.
Anyway, dramatic dialog aside, the book felt very slow but the ending was exciting so left me more on the plus side at the end. Bowen was a decent leading man for a human. I liked seeing into the Black Seas clan, and the Vanished part of the series arc moves forward - and has me really wondering "why" with respect to one of the villians

Legend was a bit different...ok,..."I had problems with Legend too, I liked the ghost and the guy she ends up with was again less developed. I liked the ones with the Taggert(i think that was the name) twins - the right woman for him could always tell him from his twin, even when she didn't know he had a twin.
I read a lot of Deveraux - she was my re-intro to romance as a adult ( as a teen I started with my mom's Emily Loring books which tended to have the leads be antagonistic to each other for most of the story and pretty much ended with the Kiss)

I just grabbed it. What do you think of it? It will be awhile before I get to it."This is on my shortlist - the 2nd book had glowing reviews.
I just finished
Tempting as Sin - very good comtemp that is KU - loved the Aussie leading man

Legend too, where she does something similar. I want the HEA with the hero who had all the page time

I am back to reading, I have an arc of
Bone Driven I m enjoying this series so far. It's different and has a promising ensemble cast.
Other than that i am making use of my Romance package. I did the entire contempory cupcake club (
Sugar Rush) which were nice small town romances. And I am working on the second Time Thieves
The Art of Stealing Time which has the manic Charlie Davidson vibe.
I also finished
Ain't She a Peach? which I enjoyed but its just a HFN - and not quite as fun as the others
