222868 Hi guys:) I am listening to The Unkindest Tide - good story so far and good thing Toby is so hard to kill.

I have also been working my way through the the Smartypants Pennyverse stories. My favorites have been
Code of Conduct set around the Knitting in the City part of the world, and
Happy Trail and
No Whisk No Reward set in Green Valley.

The only only I didn't care for was Prose Before Bros - the biker leading man's criminal present and past did not make me his fan.

222868 I actually read six of the books in the romance category this year, normally i am lucky to be able to vote on anything at all.

I finished listening to the latest Jane Yellowrock - it was hard to have her so broken - be interesting to see where it goes next.

I also read an ARC Boundary Haunted - it was good, I like this series

And in the KUs Slaying Monsters for the Feeble and How to Kiss an Undead Bride: The Epilogues
both good additions to their series.

222868 I hadn't realized this was out, but I started the new Jane Yellow rock in audio.

I've been working my way through the Miss Fortune books - hurray for libraries.

222868 I just binged two other series by Guild Codex author Annette Marie. The second started out more YA but didn't feel that way by the end. I enjoyed both and there is a lot of action in both series and each of the h really grow in power over their series. These are KU.

Chase the Dark has 6 books, The Night Realm has 3

I also finished up the latest Alex Verus in audio - wow, a big shake up for the series. Looking forward to the next.

222868 Hey All,

We've been a pretty low key group over here.
Is there any chance that you would be interested in a pick it for me challenge like some of the other groups do?
So it would be people would get a partner and the suggestor would suggest three books and the suggestee would pick one to read that month. There might be a theme for the picks or not. We could do a thread a month so that there isn't a long commitment.

What do you think? Do you all already have groups?

Fun:) Yep, I get not knowing who they are dressing up as but I love doing costumes and used to love making them ones for halloween (ocassionally from scratch, but mostly altering and adding to pieces from the thrift store). Hope your daughter has fun!

What is your daughter's cosplay? My kids like to go to anime expo and even though I don't go in, I love seeing everyone dressed up:)

I read this, and liked it a lot. Friends to lovers is a big plus for me. I looked to see if it was loanable and its not :(

I hope this author will do more books for the leading man's cousins or brother even if they aren't set in Green Valley.

Some of the other Penny-verse titles sound good too.

I just finished it too, and I agree - it was good. I look forward to seeing Belle and Lizzie defeating the someone wicked who is coming.

Me three. I don't think it would make sense to be each others HEA anyway - their friendship feels more brotherly than unrequited loverly. I don't remember did Illium's human die? Was it that long ago? Was that the anniversary he was so sad about?

222868 I haven't kept up with the Immortal Guardians - uI think I missed the previous two - but I decided to just go ahead and read Death of Darkness since it was Seth's book. It was pretty decent and seemed like it was wrapping up the whole series with some pretty big reveals - but then the last page of the epilog through in a big stinger. So, who knows there might be more.

222868 I was happy to discover the library has quite a few of the Miss Fortune books to loan - I like them and was looking for something light and goofy, but they are such quick reads for me that I'd have a hard time shelling out the 6ish bucks for them very often. But now...

I picked up the second two, she when combined with Gertie is pretty prone to wacky trouble for a professional - but I like the goofy shenanigans:)

222868 I just finished Archangel's Prophesy and Archangel's War - they were decent reads and I do have to say that it was interesting to finally get a climatic battle that was actually substantial after all that build up - many series drop the ball and resolve things too easily, that was not the case here. Wonder where this series goes next - hopefully to a nice lighter romance.

222868 The new addition in the Guild Codex world is out, Taming Demons for Beginners, it has a different lead but overlaps the book Demon Magic and a Martini and then is supposed to run parallel. I liked it a lot:)

222868 I normally avoid anything sad in my reading, but Making Faces was worth a few tears. The story is very well put together and all three of the major characters and their relationships are well done. This is a book that imparts a lot of wisdom as the characters struggle and grow. I did this in audio and it is in the romance package.

I read the entire Slouch Witch series, they lazy witch lead is amusing and still likable, she has a slightly grumpy familiar who is also fun and a partner who is her opposite but who brings out the best in her. They solve magic related murder mysteries. These are KU.

Casting Souls was an enjoyable wrap up to this series.
