I don't know if anyone else is reading stories in the Penny Reed Knitting in the city universes, but Code of Honor by April White was fun. And it is KU

For those who are trying to stretch their book money and don't have Kindle Unlimited, amazon is running a two months free deal for new users right now - until the end of the month I think. I don't know if it US only...

I am really enjoying this series...
Calamity Jena and
Bad Boy were both cute and funny.

It's hilarious. A Fantastic Holiday Season: Gift of Storie..."Wow, this was a great short story - I have always found Asil fascinating.
I hope the one in
Fantastic Hope will be just as good - but this one will be pretty hard to top.@

I enjoyed this - PNR-
Flash of Fear - don't let the cover fool you it's not a shifter romance. She's a forensic artist who was hit by lighting as a child and it gave her spidey senses that help her capture the face from a witness' description. It's a gift she's kept secret. A complication to her life is a new detective in town (they have a past) and series of weird killings. The final connecting of the dots were not entirely without flaws but overall it was nice to be PNRing again and this didn't feel like the same old samevold.

Some of you have read and rec'd the Invertary series, for those like me who have been reading them as they go on sale, all are .99 right now on kindle

Five Minutes Late"This was very cute, thanks for the rec:)

So I read
What Happened in Vegas and
Waking Up in Vegas, which were the backstory for
Mind If I Come In. Now my curiosity is satisfied. I don't know that I will read any of the other books since drinking lots of diet coke and eating seems to be intended as her endearing quirks and the mysteries are dragged out too much - enough for the reader to figure it out. These were okay and the series should have started with Waking up in Vegas instead of Mind if I Come in - leaving the final bit of mystery for a while What Happened in Vegas could have been still been book 4 or 5.

So I have to ask, i started Smoke Bitten is the relationship on the rocks the whole book? - i am avoiding sad right now.

I finished the second legends of Regia book,
Forest Fire, it had a couple angsty moments but was good overall. The next one sounds sad, so I think I will wait a bit before continuing.
I read a freebie,
Mind If I Come In, which had an oddball premise and was ok plus. It drops the reader into what felt like the middle of the series - the author does back up and tell the beginning parts in books 3 or 4 and it could have been trimmed a bit, but I am going to skip to the back story since I am curious about that. Sounds like the series is mysteries. In this first book she finds out who attacked a child which left her in a coma - entering the minds of the comatose is the h's power and she has an amnesiac vampire for a housemate.

I read
Battle Bond, which is the next book after Sinister Magic, I thought that it was starting to pull together a bit more than the first book. Doesn't look to have an overall series direction - just a main case and mayhem to manage. It kept my interest.
DemetraP wrote: "I found an amazing historical romance. The heroine is a wallflower and decides to tell everyone she's engaged to a duke who hasn't been to town in 7 years and is a recluse. He hears about it and co..."I liked this, even though I am not much for HR, I agree that the development of the romance was well done. They were also both very likable, and their callouts to beauty and the beast during the story were cute.

These are the first 2 books and not too much angst in it.
Couple of others:
[boo..."Thank you, i'll take a look at these.

So anyone have some suggestions for some good drama free reads? I need a mental escape right now.
