222868 I think this series is one of the hot-flash paranormal series that started earlier in the year and I enjoyed this episode Magical Midlife Invasion - her parents come to visit and they equally irritating (in steamrolling in and trying to manage her life) and funny as her dad refuses to acknowledge the magic he sees and 'rationalizes ' those events to some pretty weird 'normal' explanations.

222868 It's been out for a bit but I finally got around to Runaway Fate which is sort of a spin off of Hunter's Glimmer Lake womens paranormal fiction series. I enjoyed previous series, but I liked the start of this new one very much. The mystery was good, I loved the newly psychic leading lady and her husband and I liked the bonding of new trio of strangers who develop talents during the same crisis. It was good and it's KU.

222868 I've been working my way through Lyndsay Buroker's Death Before Dragons series (Sinister Magic). I just finished the 4th book and think the series is pretty decent. It's KU and I think book 7 is out soon so I still have a few more to go.

222868 I read Hidden Gifts which was a freebie, I did have a couple issues with the ending since the h's decisions - made under duress I will admit - didn't seem smart to me. But the author included the first chapter of the next book so it did hook me in and I read that too. I had more issues with the h trying to convince herself that she wrong in giving her trust when I thought that she was being stupid/niave, but again the story ends in such a way that it made me want to read the next and had the first chapter of the next book again. If this was KU I would have started the next.

222868 The Robin/Zylas book Delivering Evil for Experts is out today and does a great job of wrapping up the Robin arc with all kinds of good things: a brief appearance from Tory and the guys (it overlaps just enough of the last Tory book to tie things together), epic battles against impossible odds, suprising discoveries and unexpected alliances- plus a little bit of steam. So good:)

222868 I just finished a very good story by Kelley Armstrong, A Stitch in Time (A Stitch in Time, #1) by Kelley Armstrong A Stitch in Time - a story with ghosts, a mystery, and a romance that reaches across time. I really liked both leads, a widowed college professor who inherits an haunted old English manor - part of her charm is her love for the place and her comfort with herself - and the English Lord she's been slipping through time to visit since they were children is intense but also very appealing. They have such a strong connection, even outside the physical. And I thought the mystery was well done too.

222868 Here's a new release that I didn't know was coming... The Emperor's Wolves
by Michele Sagara. Apparently the first of two Severin books. I am excited to get his back story and to learn more about the mysterious Wolves.

Also out is Return to Virgin River which many of us have read.

222868 my hubby and I share KU, I don't have enough books in my TBR pile so I took a peek at one of his KU picks. The beginning grabbed me and so far I am really liking it Riders on the Storm: An Urban Fantasy Action Adventure Novel, it's alternate old West with a paranormal element. The leading lady is a gun slinging bank robber.

Oooh, I have that one. I read the first chapter and it was a bit dark so I set it aside. I will have to pick it up again.

222868 I've come to really like this series Three Charms for Murder (The Case Files of Henri Davenforth, #5) by Honor Raconteur Three Charms for Murder, the silly case notes at the start of the chapter add to the charm and the charm upped a notch with the addition of 2 new characters, Tasha and Phil, a pair of Felix kittens.

I also liked Damned Souls and a Sangria (The Guild Codex Spellbound, #8) by Annette Marie Damned Souls and a Sangria which wrapped up Torri's arc in Guild codex - I wish I'd remembered more of Kit 's book though since he and his partner have a important part to play. Look forward to Robin's book and her wrap up in a week or so.

Hope everything is going well for you all, things are so quiet here these days....

222868 Since Audible Escape is going away I've been trying to squeeze in the last few of the audios I had in that pile . The Wolf Lord was pretty good, the one before, The Demon Prince, was decent too but did have a three some scene which is not my thing (but was fairly late in the story), and the next one that I just started has a different kink that is also not my thing so we'll see if if is too much for me - There are other things going on in the books besides the romance so I haven't given up quite yet.

222868 I finished Devil's Due, I didn't like this one as well as the first since there were a couple triggers for me. Plus the romance was way too much in the background and when it happened it felt wrong after the events that preceded it.
