Stone God by Erin Kellison is on sale fir $. 99. I thought it was a decent series starter

I found decent new KU UF series That has two books so far :
A Grimoire for Gamblers and
A Surplus of Sirens. The first book takes a bit to get going and as a warning the lead is grieving about her father's death by suicide, but I thought her introduction to hidden magic world was interesting and there is a mystery to solve and a bad supernatural to defeat. I like how the resolution transitions her into a new role in the supernatural world that leads her into another mystery in book 2. These first 2 came out close together so I am hoping it wont be long til book 3.

I had a good reading week so far.
I read
The Golden Gryphon and the Bear Prince and
The Sorceress Queen and the Pirate Rogue which is spin off of jeffe kennedy's Twelve Kingdoms I think (haven't read those yet) they were on the smexier side but still enjoyable with shapeshifters and magic, and rogues both charming and brooding.
I also listened to a
A Good Day for Chardonnay - I like the reader and this character and her teen daughter have the Charlie Davidson banter down. It does take the lead an awfully long time to clue into her forgotten past, but now that's out of the way things should get rolling.

We were talking about Kristin Painter a while back... All of her Nocturne Falls books a KU now. This series is light PNRs. There's 13 books and 4 shorts. Nothing earth shaterring more on the cute side with Mermaids and Valkyries getting their HEAs along side witches, gargoyles, vamps and shifters.

What novella?..."I hadn't noticed the links at the bottom of the post, thanks for mentioning them, it gave me a great excuse to reread A Mere Formality - I enjoy it every time I read it. They write a good short story.

I finally finished
Million Dollar Demon - it ended well - I like how Rachel always pulls it off with nothing to spare - and I look forward to more, hopefully Rachel will be fixing the demons next.
I also read
Rogue Ghosts & Other Miscreants - i struggled a bit at the start, Kit was a bit psychicly heavy handed in some of his interogations, but overall I ended up liking it. There was a decent cameo for Zak - i think his book is out next month

Oh the new annette marie book Is out today
Rogue Ghosts & Other Miscreants

I am still slowly working on my audio of
Million Dollar Demon - i've been at it for a month partly because I am.not commuting - just a couple step to the den - and partly because I despise Harrison's vamps. And they are at their worst here. So I'll.make a little progress when Rachel and Jenks are doing their thing and be reAlly enjoying that and then vamps, torture, blood and forced lust from vamp pheremones - which is yuck. so I haven't been inspired to find extra listening time

Sucks To Be Me"From the other reviews I am in the minority, but I was underwhelmed and didn't continue with the series - but as a disclaimer I am completely burnt out on vamps these days.
There were plenty of other Women's Paranormal Fiction that came out the same time as this that were a lot more fun - elizabeth hunter's glimmer lake and k f breene's
Magical Midlife Madness

Thanks all for your retirement wishes - looks like jury duty will be the first thing I do with my free time since i just got the notice in the mail. So short reprieve on finding my new groove:)
In the mean time I am reading up a storm. This was recommended to me and I thought this series was good,
Rules of Redemption, it is sci fi - but they don't spend a lot of time in actual space, and the main culture of the planet the heroine ends up on is well developed and essentially has a form of magic. She is also pretty awesome, former soldier, with a painful back story, with good fighting skills and a savior complex. I read all three books that are out so far and look forward to more.

Well i just let my company known that I am retiring at the end of August - both of my 2020 grads are now employed - and have their own insurance - so it seems like a good time. Very scary though. Not entirely sure what I am going to do with myself yet...

I just finished an older uf/PNR series that been on my TBR forever
Blood Bound. The setting is a world with powers: seers, travelers (teleporters), trackers, truth readers and binders. Binders can bind you to an oath or a contract and violating that can cause pain or death. There's a magically mafia that takes advantage of that. All three books feature a different couple. There is some darkness to the series - when free will is overridden by the bindings and the mafia leaders enjoy making people suffer when crossed - but the series ends well. All the women are tough and capable. I thought the books were good.

Hailey Edwards just started a new series
Black Hat, White Witch - the setup of a reformed black witch in hiding being called back in to work a case with her former golem partner and a new hot guy of problematic heritage is interesting, but I am having a few issues with the case which is a copycat serial killer whose victims are children. We see how it goes...

Me too! I just finished
Exit Strategy and was lucky that I could get
Network Effect right away from the library.

I loved this fantasy book, a tough h who changes everything ..."Thanks for mentioning this. I thought it was good - a bit gruesome to start , but still good. I liked that it was a standalone.
