I've been trying to use up my last audible credits before they expire, so I read Redshirts by John Scalzi. I find his stories read by Will Wheaton to be entertaining and this one was. It pays homage to Star Trek while Aldo roasting it. It was a little odd in that it had three epilog, that were more like connected shorts. The last of which was very touching. Overall this was a nice change of pace.
Now I am off to find some 'Hallmark' Christmas stories while I am waiting for Fated and a Twist of Fate to come out.

Happy Thanksgiving to every who celebrates it :). I get the food pzrt out of the way early - since it's just my little family to cook for - so now I get some reading time hile everyone is in a food coma.

Thanks Demetra, some of that sounds pretty awful,
(view spoiler)[I don't like to see characters abused or violated. (hide spoiler)]. So it sounds like a hard pass for me. Thanks for taking the time to clue me in.

Well my hold for archangel's light just came available the library - I put the request in way before the release. So I have to ask, is it worth reading.? I've been pretty meh on the series for awhile...

I just finished
Wayward Moon - this is a newer series from devon monk and the narrator is a guy, this is the second book and the original premise involves the leads who are married. One is not quite alive and the other not quite dead and they are stuck traveling Route 66. (I liked the first story too but it was short if IRC.) I thought the tone of the story was interested - it is narrated by the guy who is really essentially from another time. It's kind of a spinoff of the ordinary series same world but outside of the town of Ordinary

Paula, thank you for the Twisted Luck series rec, I read all 5 books and 2 shorts back to back to back and enjoyed them a lot. I thought it was kind of neat that all the books were different and that there was no romance for the MC.

Thank all for the retirement wishes - I am sure I will figure it out:)
I finished
My Luck - I enjoyed and will start the next - I am dying to have her figure things out (oh and I hate her parents)

So, as an aside, as of yesterday I am officially retired. It was weird to go into the office yesterday to clean out my desk - I've been working from home since 2020. Not too many people went back to the office when things opened up so it was a Ghost town - I was waiting for the tumble weeds to blow through. It doesn't feel real yet - unless I go look at the empty spot in the den where my work computers and monitors were. Now I need to figure out what to do with myself before my hubby starts tasking me🙂

Paula - that sounds good, I've been in a slump too, so I'm going to give it a try:)

I've been in a bit of a book slump lately - and dnf'ing things that don't keep my interest which is not like me. But I did like Gambler Grimoire by BR Kingsolver which was murder mystery at an Arcane College and I also thought Fuzzy Nation by John Scalzi was fun in audio (good sale purchase) - the main character is a jerk but clever.

Some of my friends in the Nalini group are reading it now. I'll let you know what they are saying in a day..."I have heard that it is relatively chaste for a mm romance and that the bromance before the romance was very developed. I am not sure I will read this either, i too have lost interest in the series and its wings of deepest azure or wings like dawn shading from ... - I am still sort of holding on to PsyChangling. But singh's books are library reads for me at this point.

Frisco {{hugs}}

I was really happy about the switch to 20. My hubby and my daughter share KU with me and I was always juggling when the hubby wanted to check a book out - it's just another very limited TBR pile for me :)

I am listening to the new Jodi Taylor Time Police book
Saving Time - it's great to be back with Team Weird
