222868 I just finished listening to the graphic audio for One Fell Sweep - they are kind of goofy but fun. Though I do have to say the love scene was weird in this format.

222868 I've been on a good streak this week. The Fire in the GlassA series set in England around the start of the first world War, starring a woman who is the daughter of an Earl and an actress - and doesn't fit in either class. She sees the future but hasn't been able to change it. This has a very interesting supporting cast of others with powers and a touch of romance in the background. There are three books and a short story. I am on the third book and everything I've read so far was really good.

The other book that I really liked was Only a Monster which is a debut book that is supposed to be part of a trilogy eventually. It is YA in that the lead is young, but I other than her age didn't really read that YA to me. It grabbed me pretty quickly (I rec'd it to my daughter and she said the same thing) I don't want to say too much about the story details because I don't want to spoil it.

Your fire has an email address that Netgalley can use to send to kindle.
https://netgalley.zendesk.com/hc/en-u...-

Has the instructions for what to do on netgalley and on amazon. The when you claim the book on Netgalley you choose Send to Kindle instead of download epub.

222868 The Heroic Hearts anthology is out and it has the third Asil dating short by Patty Briggs. I just love these and it is a good one:). I read it first and still have all of the others to go. There is also a story set in Bishop's Others world (but in another part of the globe). And there's one for Chloe Neil's Heirs of Chicagoland.

222868 This was fun a sunny gal /grummpy warlock romance Go Hex Yourself (I did this in audio). It's by Jessica Clare, who used to write sexy PNR as Jill Myles.

222868 I just finished the latest St Mary'sbook in audio and really enjoyed it - I am so glad that you guys clued me into this series. A Catalogue of Catastrophe I can't believe that this is still going strong after so many books.

I also finished these two good contemporary romances:
Smart Mouth - one of the Smartypants Romances - brother has always loved his twin's best friend who is a nerdy scientist and finally gets his chance with her after pretending to be his twin and coming to her rescue.

Built to Last - this was an ARC, a second chance romance for two former teen TV stars who are roped into doing a home renovation reality show. This was probably my favorite contemporary romance of the year so far. They reconnect as friends first and there is some really sweet parts near the end.

222868 So I just binged sixteen books (three of them where Novela length) in the Haven Hollow series which is a collaboration between JR Rain and HP Mallory. The series is PWF/ mystery with three main leading ladies (a traveler potion maker who sees ghosts, a witch who has been half turned by a vamp and a celebate succubus) and most of the books have one of the three taking the lead and the POV. Each of the novellas puts a side character in the lead. The town of Haven Hollow has many different kinds of supes hidding in plan sight and there's a crew of human ghost hunters who are part of the supporting cast as well. I thought this was pretty cute overall and it is KU. My only issue is that 'gypsy' is considered a slur nowdays - and that is acknowledged several times in the series but they still use it both when it is and when it isn't intended as such and it is in the title of the first bookGypsy Magic (Poppy's Potions #1). There is a slow burn enemies to lovers as one of the relationships, but only one of the books is (for a different pair) on the sexier side.

222868 Elizabeth Hunter has a new PWF series starter out Double Vision - it's following the same format as the Glimmer Lake and Moonstone Cove series - 3 women suddenly get psychic powers, solve mysteries, become friends and find love. It's KU. There is a quirky supporting cast and I thought it was a nice light read.

222868 I just finished a cute audible plus book - a short contemporary Seatmate - I am always looking to stretch my audible credits and I like Amanda Ronconi and Zachary Webber as readers. They did this one more like a radio play (without a bunch of cheesy sound effects though) , so even though the chapters alternated his/her POVs the readers voiced their characters throughout. This isn't a spicy one, the characters get to know each other really well trying to get back to New York in time for an interview.

I just finished this, I am still not a fan of the gamer moth familiar, but I like her partners Clay and Asa a lot.

222868 Lisa and Demetra thanks for your input on Archangel's Light.

I did end up reading it - with very low expectations - and liked it for the most part, dispite Singh's purple prose pulling me out of the story now and then, and even though I didn't think that she pulled off a romance- and not just because of limiting them to kisses only. (sweet romances still pull it off and keep the heat level low)

I thought it was a good friendship story though (and think she should have left it at that somehow) and I liked how Raphael played such an important part in their lives when they were young angels. I wonder if the next book is going to make it out of China and finally leave Lijun aftermath behind.

222868 I've had Archangel's Light on hold with the library from before it was released and deferred checkout several times. Is it worth reading - I am not a MM fan? Is the back history interesting or significant? Is there a lot of torture scenes? Excessive torturing the leads is what caused me to breakup with Dark Hunters. Is there anything important to the series overall arc? I am sort of on the fence with Guild Hunters after the last few books. Is it time for me to break up with this series too?

222868 I read the new Lindsay Broker KU - it is a standalone - Elf Tangent. Fantasy romance where the puzzle solving powers of a somewhat nerdy princess may just save the day for the cursed elvin people. It wasn't earth shattering but I enjoyed it.

222868 I thought this KU series was pretty cute - cupid who is cursed not to find love and all kinds of calamity ensues when she tries to get intimate - Love & Curse Making is the first and two are out so far.

I finished rereading (in audio) the first five Incryptid book - Alex is still my favorite. I really don't feel like revisiting Antimony's books so I am good on those for now.

I like that collection, the Grace of Small Magics short is one of my favorite IA reads and one I reread every so often. I love how Grace seems powerless at first but finds her strength - both personal and magic - and the hero is just so tragic

222868 I just started a relisten of Incryptid series. i listened to the last book Spelunking Through Hell and liked it so I was talking to my daughter about the series and sold my daughter on the series so she's reading them now. and with the audible sale I picked up the ones that I hadn't gotten in audio and now I've started back at the beginning. I will probably also go back and read the free shorts for the the healy's and for Alice and Thomas before I get back to the books with Alice in them.

222868 I just finished an ARC - a new entry in a blast from the past series - Lexi George's southern demon hunters. This one was Demon Hunting with a Southern Sheriff (a bunch of us read these way back when). It's been a long time since the last book, but the Sheriff was always aninteresting side character and he ends up being way more than we thought. I actually liked the Demon huntress h better than the male hunter Dalvani Hs in the previous books. The author doesn't really do a recap of the previous four books, but some of it came back in dribbles as past players turned up over the course of the story. I thought it was fun to revisit this - and there was the set up for two more pairs and a little more for Evan who has been a side story in the past two books. The book is coming out in April.
