Vinity and Demetra thanks for the feedback on Locke Lamora, I'll give it another go when i finish the Others book.

I did
Beauty and the Clockwork Beast (in the audible romance package) it was a decent gothic steampunk mashup.
And I read this cozy magic mystery book that was just okay and i can't even remember the title - something about pie.
I just downloaded the new others book to listen to, and put
The Lies of Locke Lamora on hold - it wasn't grabbing me anyway.

I liked the new Soulwood book
Circle of the Moon, I like Nell and Oakem, I feel sorry for Rick. I liked the way that Nell dealt with Ming of Glass and Rick's new boss. Though the investigation was a bit meandering and I did have a touch of a problem with the big finish -
(view spoiler)[the land eating people can't always be the resolution with the big bads, although they did deserve to get 'et. (hide spoiler)]

The newest Soulwood book is out today -
Circle of the Moon
Victoria "I liked
Wanderlust a lot - the leading lady is an American living for a year in Paris and she is a great vibrant character, the leading man is swoony and Paris itself plays a starring role which I found fun.
I've liked many of the books in Rosalind Jame's New Zealand rugby series, but this one from another series was fun as the leads are competing on a reality show where they have to live like people in a historical time period (colonial maybe)
Welcome to Paradise.

I am not generally much of a YA reader but I really enjoyed
Galgorithm written from the male POV of a high school senior who helps nerdy guys win the girls of their dreams. It was cute. I listened to this in audio.

I listened
Keepsake (thanks happybookworm for the series rec)
I think this is my favorite so far, I love the continuing cast at the apple farm. I loved the leading man Zachariah, who is still rightfully struggling with self worth issues from his unusual upbringing - he really is someone who deserves and appreciates love. I liked his quiet strength leant to the leading lady who has her own struggle with PTSD. These are in the audible romance package.

Well I just dnf an audio after 7 hours with one chapter left,
Into the Deep. It was a second chance NA romance and I got to the reuniting part and decided that I just don't care - especially since this is a duology and they start out apart in the next book. I didnt really like the leading man and the characters were too immature to be really appealing. It didn't help that the reader didn't do a good job on the male voices and sd Scottish accents were awful. Fortunately this was in the romance package so i didn't use one of my precious credits on it.

I've been mixing in some contemporary romances into my listening line up and you know how some of usvhave said that it would be good if those dual narrator/dual POV books had the guy do all the guy voices and the gal do all the gal voices? Well
Birthday Suit takes it one step further and has a whole cast - 12 characters and 10 different readers. It was kind of fun to have it done this way. I also enjoyed the story, long time friends with the guy having loved the gal for years, but she had married his best friend. Also chocolate plays a supporting role:)

I just finished an ARC of
Boundary Broken - big things afoot in the Colorado part of the Old World. I really like Lex and her friend Simon (i am pretty neutral about her boyfriend Quinn - his role this time is pretty thin). I think its cool that the author alternates Lex trilogies with Scarlett ones - especially now that Scarlett has come into her own, she wasn't that likeable in her first book. This book opens up some thing for the next Lex series but I am pretty sure it will dove tail into the Scarlett ones.

I enjoyed
Dukes Are Forever it was a good series ender - melting Malloryn was a plus and his heroine was great. Author says she's planning more in the same world though.

"Thanks for mentioning this, I been waiting for the next book in this series. I like it too:)

I just finished
Snowspelled - i think this was an Ilona Andrews rec. I liked it, it was an alternate history (regency-ish?) with magic, fae, and elven treaties. There is a gender role reversal in that women hold the politcal power with male mages in a supporting role. Except the leading lady was one to buck tradition to become the first female mage, until it all went wrong for her. The second book is out in a few weeks.

Since I've gotten hooked on Christina Lauren, I managed to go and score and ARC of the upcoming (May)
The Unhoneymooners - It was cute and funny for the most part, enemies to lovers - The unlucky twin and her new (and despised) brother-in-law inherit the honeymoon trip when their siblings get food poisoning at the wedding reception (as a warning the reception gets very messy.)
Can't believe this author duo started out writing Twilight fan-fic.

Melindeeloo, thanks! Glad it will be coming out so quickly. I will be on the lookout!":)
There's also a new short out this week in
Love Potion: A Valentine's Day Charity Anthology - that is from Kai's POV - no Tori at all.
And a free teeny short with how Ezra came to be part of the mage trio, if you sign up for the author's newletter - this one was okay, but I am a series addict...

I had to actually go to my amazon account to force a book to download and discovered that I have over 3100 books in my library - it is amazing that my virtual hoarding is so well hidden. But then again since i read between 200 and 300 books a year I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised.
Victoria wrote: "Melindeeloo glad you enjoyed, I thought Josh & Hazel's was very cute! Just thought of another one - Getting Schooled by Emma Chase. My Half Night Stand by Christina Lauren was good but not as great..." I've read the other two and liked them. I got a tickle out of half night stand since it was set in my home town and the friend group of professors taught at my alma mater (UCSB). So far I am pretty happy with the order I read these in because they've gotten better as I've gone along so no disappointments. Roomies was my first and it was the weakest - but marriages of convenience as a trope isn't as fun as friends to lovers (though I do have some fav marriage of convenience stories -
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me and
Marriage of Inconvenience)
