I just realized I haven't read any epic books this year. Although I am really enjoying The Magicians. I just finished listening to CRANK on CD & it was scary how realistic the drug addiction descriptions were! I don't know from experience, but felt like I knew a lot more at the end. Drugs were seductive & so hard to resist.

I've been getting in extra reading & books on CD's during all my children's activities, but when they are at school I get distracted by tv, FB & solitaire.
I'm behind on my cookbooks, but I did just go trough The Food Lab & I loved it! So much science involved in cooking. The only bad part, the book must weigh 20 lbs!!! Ha ha
I just started The Giver on CD, am finishing Miss Peregrine's Home for Particular Children, & just finished a combination book of mindless alpha male books. As you can tell, my reading is all over the place.
I am now drooling over fried corn. Yum!Because the weather turned so nice, I went crazy cooking summer foods starting last Sunday. Broccoli salad, Jell-O salad, deviled eggs, baked beans, barbecued chicken and more.
My father side of the family is Swedish so I did end up picking up a Swedish cookbook last month. Was pretty interesting because it had all the Swedish traditions regarding food. I like that part better than the recipes. Ha ha.
We got an extra day, but there were still dance practice for my daughter's dance team so I can't see it felt like an extra day. Ha ha. I did get in a lot of reading in though. I'm reading the first Secret Circle book. Same author as The Vampire Diaries.
Have you ever read a book and then felt like you had already read this book? Since this was also a television show, I can't figure out if it's familiar because I watch the show or if I actually have read this book before.
Guess what's really exciting? My neighbor, who works for the library, set up one of the free libraries in her yard! It looks like a birdhouse and is filled with books for kids and adults. I'm so excited because I've loved this concept. I've already gone and picked up a book from there. I will dig into that one after I finish my secret circle book.
We were away at a dance convention, so I didn't even get to pick up a book. I brought one but it stayed in my purse the whole time. I'm still finishing The Escape by David Baldacci. I picked up The Revenant, Four & Heart of the Sea so they are on my list to read.
I just stuck Grey in the CD player. Actually I read it last year, but it was just sitting there at the library and someone told me the reader had a good voice. They were correct about that. Am I able to count this again when I read the book last year?
I am also reading The Escape by David Baldacci. It's a good thriller so far.
I've got a dance competition with my daughter this weekend so I've got to find a paperback to read or take my Kindle because we have so much stuff to carry in but I have to keep my load as late as possible.
I just finished Say You Love Me. Historical romance. My David Baldacci book, The Escape, won't make it into the romance category. Ha ha
I just finished Invisible by James Patterson. It was really good! Kind of gross with what the bad guy does, but kept me on the edge of my seat & had good twists.
I will go for Chili or Chowder since I don't like Chowder. We have a chili cook off for the Suoerbowl so that might be a good chance. Chowder is not something I've tackled though so maybe I'll do both this month!
I am keeping track of all my books on Goodreads. I listed them all under "Currently Reading" so it looks like I am reading 7 books at one time. Ha ha.
It won't be for everyone, because there are parts that are...I don't know the right word to use....offensive isn't really the right word. I liked the unraveling of the tale & everyone's life & perspective.
