This challenge was so fun. It made me take more time for myself and helped me stay focused on reading. At times I did read less challenging books to keep my numbers up, but I still read many books that I enjoyed.
I just finished If I Saty & Where She Was. Really good books. Quick reads if anyone needs to get a last book or two in. I read the second book in a day.
Two more books to go & I meet the goal!
Congratulations everyone! Even if you didn't meet the goal, you still focused on yourself some.
For Christmas, I just bought my daughter a kids version of Jane Eyre. One of my favorite books.
Every time we moved with the military, the first place I searched out was the library. When I had books to read, it didn't matter that I didn't have friends yet. Books never let me down & are always there for me. After my son's Asperger's diagnosis, I had a hard time coping with the stress of all the therapies he needed to get to & helping him manage his life. I had gotten away from reading. I wasn't able to sleep well from all of the stress & I got back into reading to ease my mind away from the stress of the day. It helped me be a better mom. Right now, I am reading a mindless book that I don't even know the title too. :). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I just finished Adultery by Paulo Coelho and it was my 52nd book of the year! I have completed my challenge!! I haven't raised by eyebrows this much in a book since 5..."Congratulations on finishing the 52nd book! I might have to pick up Adultery. That's hard to believe it's the same author!
Thanks. I have been logging all my books on both the library system and Goodreads. I'm excited that this challenge will continue next year!

When counting how many books we read, will you be counting off the library tally or the Goodreads tally? There are 2 books I read that I had read in previous years so my library book count is 2 books higher than my Goodreads total books read.
I like the Kindle idea, but I would rather it be a Kindle for reading, not a Kindle Fire. Love the Amazon GC too for lots of books to read! A Barnes & Noble GC. I forget what the new Amazon Unlimited Book/month membership. It's fun to have it be related to books in some way.
I wasn't able to put the book down for the first half. Just the fact that two people were in the same marriage & saw things so differently...
I want to see the movie. Usually I prefer to read the book first so I know all the details when I am watching the movie. It's been interesting to read how people felt about the book & also the movie.
I am reading Gone Girl & almost finished. I'm not sure what is next, but it need to get hopping so I finish the challenge!
The longest book of the year for me was Gone with the Wind. I actually finished in record time because it mesmerized me. Currently, I am reading Cinder & have The Postcard Killers on CD in the car.
Yes to Fahrenheit 461.Childhood favorite.
Distant future.
Mystery.
Romance.
Another continent.
Humor.authro you've never heard of.
Zombies.
I have read 36 books so far. It's going to be cutting it close on getting to 52 with the holidays coming up, but I think I can do it. Currently, I picked up the first Jack Reacher book. I have read/listened to a couple, but totally out of order.
Fun question! 1st choice is a book because I love to be in the library searching for what I want to read next. Kindle is fun. Especially when traveling to lighten the load or get a new book easily.
I also always try to have an audiobook going in the car. Now that my daughter made the dance team I spend even more time in the car commuting.
Usually I have a book w/ all the time. It really helps during the long waits for doctor appts, having lunch, stuck for a bridge lift...plus I read before bed or any chance I can grab.
One book is best for me & one audiobook.
Science Fiction!!! Love this category. Ender's Game, Ready Player One, The Fifth Wave, I am Number Four books.....so much to pick from! I've read all of these though so time to hunt down some new ones!

Pillars of the Earth. I loved the descriptions of the building of the cathedrals. The architecture was like an art form and men devoted their lives to the the process.
