I loved Shutter Island! I had seen the movie & then read the book. Usually I read the book 1st.
My friend & I started reading romance books at the age of 13. Now I read mystery, thriller, sci fi, conspiracy, and more. If I read something deep & thought provoking, it helps me absorb it by reading something really light afterwards like a romance or mystery/romance. I have even been reading books simillar to 50 Shades. That was a category of books I didn't even know existed. Ha ha. It's definitely educational.

I have Brave New World in CD in the car. It was on the Feirenheight 451 display table. Until a few days ago, I was reading Joyland, by Stephen King. Picture put it down somewhere & can't find it. I need a book locator app.
I'll have to put Red Rising on my books to read list since I really enjoyed Ready Player One & Ender's Game. I have my 12 year old son reading Ready Player one & he likes it.For the BINGO card, I just started Joyland, by Stephen King, so that fits the One Word Title category. I will have to look at the rest of the suggestions.
Just finished Private London on CD in the car..
Yesterday was so gorgeous, I sat on my porch & read in the afternoon. That was so nice.
Chris, the other book that was really good was Rescue of the Bounty. It's at the library. That one was interesting since it happened right around here. Nonfiction isn't usually my genre, but I found that one fascinating. Glad you liked The perfect storm! Let me know if you read anything else good.
I am finally finishing Outlander, which I started during the 2014 challenge. I had to turn it back in & kept forgetting to grab it again. One more disk on Private London , by James Patterson, CD. I really got into The Perfect Storm when I read it Chris. It was 16 years ago, but I still remember so much of it. If you like that one, I'll dig up the title of the book on the wooden sailing ship that went down of our East Coast during the hurricane.
I liked the villian poll. Fun idea. I have been slow on reading during dance competition season. I bring my book, but always end up wanting to see all the dances.
3/4 of the way through Saint Odd & still listening to Private London in the van. Not much listening w/ all the snow. Ha ha.
I am in the middle of the new Odd Thomas book by Dean Koontz. sad that it is the lasts one. Also finishing 13 Hours in Benghazi. In the car I am listening to Private London by James Patterson. It's been so busy getting ready for a dance competition & also a campout for my son w/ Boy Scouts that I haven't had much time to read lately.
Vivian wrote: "I am reading "Ready Player One" and I want to thank all who read it & spoke so highly of it. I am loving it but am pretty sure it's not something I would have picked up on my own."I just had my 12 year old son start reading it since I liked it so much.
I am on book 9 right now. Currently I am reading 13 hours in Benghazi when I am at home. It started okay, but once the actual event takes place it's hard to put down. Especially since I didn't remember who survived & who didn't. I've been on a romance kick all of a sudden so that's what I carry around to read while I wait for my children to finish practices.
I had the same problem when I tried to keep my user name. It says we can keep the same name, but it wouldn't let me keep mine. I don't think anyone else has picked Ingridreads as their username. Ha ha.
No plan really, but I also thought I would try the books in different location idea. I already keep a book on CD in the car and one book I am reading that I carry everywhere, but I might keep one in the car for all the times I am waiting for the children in pickup lines. Then another one at home.I just finished Don't Look Back by Gregg Hurwitz. Good start, long middle, exciting last 1/4.
Thanks for keeping us all organized! I'm excited about the new, 2015 reading challenge & have already finished with my 2nd book of the new year. Unfortunately it has affected my resolution to go to bed earlier because I stayed up until all hours of the night, for two nights in a row, reading.
Bummer that there are no challenges because that took me out of my comfort zone.
I really enjoy our interactions & hearing what books others are enjoying.
Happy New Year!
Favorite book & Easiest to Read - Gone with the WindLeast Favorite book - The Enemy at this point. Just slowly plugging along slowly.
Book I couldn't finish - a romance book about Navy Seals. I thought it was one book, but it was a group of stories. I couldn't get into the characters since each story was so short.
New Series - The Lunar Chronicles & I enjoyed the Divergent Trilogy.
I finished the challenge the other night! Very excited!
Looking forward to next year everyone!
