Spiritual Growth Quotes by Women

We humans love quotes, which is why there are so many books, websites, articles, and blogs dedicated to them. Quotes are big nuggets of wisdom wrapped up in a few sentences. My audience loved the blogs I did on quotes for dream interpretation, nightmares, and precognitive dreams, which you can read in my quote category. Therefore, I decided to do a blog about spiritual growth quotes by women for this website.

How to Respond When People Ask For Free Services

In this blog, you will discover how to respond when people ask for services. I’ll go over a response to family and friends, what the free marketing opportunity is truly about, and how to handle those who ask for freebies.

All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.

There’s a false idea that since psychics and healers gifts are from God, they shouldn’t charge money. Yet hasn’t God also gifted Taylor Swift with a beautiful voice, Matthew McConaughey with acting skills, and LeBron James with athletic abilities? And believe me, they are paid mega amounts of money for their gifts!

Somebody trying to get something for nothing happens to people in every profession: authors, freelance writers, editors, coaches, artist, musicians, doctors, lawyers, and so forth. This is so frustrating to those who have business and living expenses to cover! Also, it can take decades of training, expensive schooling or training, thousands upon thousands of hours of hard work to become an expert, plus being self-employed forces you to work on your personal growth to conquer insecurities and other issues that crop up while running a business. These are valid reasons why professionals must charge for their services.

How to Respond When People Ask For Free Services

Here’s one personal example of mine:

At least every two weeks someone will go to my email reading webpage, bypass my payment buttons, and type their personal question(s) for me to answer in the contact form. Obviously, these people know this is a paid service. It came to the point where I was sick of typing my response and typed up a generic response to copy and paste, which I’ll share in case a similar situation happens to you.

Thank you for your interest in my email reading service; however, I didn’t receive your payment for the questions. Please check your Pay Pal or credit card account to see if the problem is at your end. Or submit a payment on the email reading web page. Once I receive your payment, I will answer your question ASAP.

Did you notice how polite and professional this response was? Perhaps two percent of the time, there was an actual problem with their Pay Pal or credit card account. However, it’s always important and good karma to respond with kindness.

Let’s talk about three methods people will try to receive freebies:

Family and Friends

This can be a toughie because these are your loved ones, yet you still need to be compensated for your skill and time. Never allow your family and friends to guilt you into free services; instead, choose who you won’t charge or give a discount to.

If someone complains when you ask for a payment tell them, “I’m fitting you in my busy schedule, obviously paying clients must receive top priority, and it will take me ___ days or weeks to finally have time to help you.”

Personally, I’m lucky. My family and close friends always offered to pay me something as they value my work. Even my father insists on buying books I’ve written and he’s one of my editors. Usually the people who ask for free services are acquaintances.

Marketing Opportunity

How many times have you heard, “We can’t pay you, but you’ll get free exposure?” Think carefully before you say yes, even if your business is brand new. This intention of potential clients rarely brings in paying clients; usually the universe hears it as send me more nonpaying gigs for possible money opportunities.

Before you give away your time, research whose free exposure would work best for you. Then choose niches that work well for your business. And how to take advantage of these opportunities, whether that’s through services, speaking engagements, guest blogging, podcast interviews, or raffling off a gift certificate. Do this with the attitude of fun, enjoyment of establishing connections, and without any expectations of receiving anything in return.

Strangers on the Internet

Remember my email reading example? Sadly, this isn’t the only way the internet users ask for freebies, nor am I the only business owner who goes through this. Request for free services happen through social media personal messaging, Facebook groups, website contact forms, emails, blog posts, live radio shows, or anywhere else strangers can connect with you.

These requests can sneakily be asked as feedback or input to avoid paying for your services. Anyone who is requesting your time or expertise needs to be aware it’s a paid service. Don’t be surprised when you point this out to a person, they will become defensive or angry. Please do your best not to take it personally, as this is their issue, not yours.

The following are three ways to handle these requests:

Point them towards the information through yours or another expert’s blog, podcast, or website.Answer in a brief, generic, yet informative sentence or two.Provide them with your website link where they can purchase your services.In Conclusion

Benefits of Tarot and Oracle Cards

First, let’s address the elephant in the room for those who think tarot cards are evil. If you believe tarot decks are for devil worshipers, then you better never, ever play go fish again. Because playing cards are also used as a divination tool. For those of you who read the Bible, you will find verses that are for divination, as well as against, to learn more about this topic, click Alternatives Magazine. Yet, upon observing Jesus’ stories in the bible, not only did he do energy healing and performed magic by turning water into wine, Jesus also was psychic enough to know one of his apostles (Judas) would betray him.

Differences between Oracle and Tarot CardsOracle Cards

There is no set number of cards in an oracle deck. Oracle cards can be about any topic the deck’s creator desires; therefore, you will find oracle subjects on: angels, archangels, romance, fairies, animals, crystals, and so forth.

Many people, especially beginners, choose oracle cards because they’re easy to read, simple to understand, and require very little schooling. Usually, a card will have the main descriptive message on the card itself and additional information if there is a guidebook. No studying and feeling safe with oracle decks are two reasons someone will choose these over tarot cards. Oracle cards are often works of art.

Tarot Cards

Understanding tarot requires more education, studying, and time learning than oracle cards. Tarot is based upon a system, although slight differences may occur such as additional cards or different names for the Minor Arcana suits depending on who created the deck. Usually, there are seventy-eight cards that have twenty-two Major Arcana and fifty-six Minor Arcana. The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits (fourteen cards within each suit) often called Swords, Pentacles, Cups, and Wand.

The majority of tarot decks have pictures with the title of the card; for instance, a card could have a picture of a woman sitting on a throne in front of water, holding a cup and the words “queen of cups” on it. Although, some decks have made it simpler for students by writing a description on the card. In my opinion, this extra information interferes with the meaning of the cards and a reading can be misinterpreted.

Tips for Reading Tarot Cards

To aid you in comprehending each card, observe the card or place it on your third eye in the middle of your forehead while allowing your intuition to state the card’s meaning. Once you have a basic understanding of the card, then find its meaning within the guidebook. Also, sleeping with your deck will allow the cards to go deep within your subconscious mind, and you may have wild, entertaining dreams about tarot!

Once you understand the main concepts about the Major and Minor Arcana, then it’s time to lay out the cards in a tarot spread. A woman once advised me to read the cards like a story; the story will change depending on what card is laid next to another card or cards and what choice of the many different tarot spreads is used. Sometimes a tiny picture within a card that you never noticed will suddenly stand out, changing the whole card’s meaning.

One old wives’ tale regarding oracle and tarot card is you can only receive a deck as a gift and never to buy one. If you believe this, then you must also think that black cats are bad luck or cover your mouth when you yawn to keep a demon out!

It’s always nice to receive a deck as a gift. When you choose a deck for yourself, it’s important to go with your gut or buy two decks.

We have dreams about coffee as it’s such a staple in our lives. Usually we drink coffee in the morning, yet some people drink it all day, and even right before bed. Coffee can wake us up quickly, but understanding what coffee symbolizes in our dreams may not happen as quickly, especially for beginners.

What’s Pamela Dreaming?

My personal dreams inspire my blogs and I dreamed the following:

A former coach of mine was working at her coffee shop. We were talking, and she handed me my coffee order. The paper cup had holes in it and the coffee was dripping out. I thought to myself about how I needed another paper cup that wouldn’t leak.

Interpretation

My former coach (who doesn’t own a coffee shop) and I are still on good terms, plus I occasionally attend her workshops. Therefore, it isn’t about our relationship.

What it is about is my business. How my former way of doing business isn’t working while leaking out rich goodness. It’s time for me to wake up and contain all the hard work I have done. I also need to find a different way of doing business.

This was confirmed during a conversation I had with my prosperity buddy. She reminded me of how I always talk about combing this website and pamelacummins.com into one website. She encouraged me to start the process.

Hmm, that makes sense to me. I’m still in the works of how to change and operate my new cup. If only it was as easy as asking someone for a new cup. I’ll keep you posted.

Cards for Dream Interpretation

My cards for dream interpretation are now updated, and I am waiting on the first proof. It would be wonderful if the deck is available during the holiday season. However, that depends on how the proofs turn out. They probably will need some tweaking. I’ve come a long way since I created the former Analyze Your Dream Oracle Cards. In this blog, I will go over my card making journey, then I’ll compare the old deck with the upcoming new one.

My Journey with Cards for Dream Interpretation

The first oracle deck I made was Purrs for Humans and it has made a few sales. But it was a personal deck with photos of my cats, Rhiannon and Merlin (who departed). It was a fun experiment that gave me a little experience on how to create a deck back in 2018.

I did research in 2019 before creating the dream interpretation deck, yet there wasn’t a one-stop source for this information on the internet. Instead, it was scattered details across multiple websites. It took me many hours during the days of researching the information to compile all this information into understanding how to create my upcoming deck, which was so frustrating! This inspired me to take my notes and write the post “Want to Create an Oracle Deck?” Since then, there are more blogs on this topic, although my original post is still receiving many visitors each day.

A former teacher of mine said, “How do you know what you want, if you don’t know what you don’t want?” Hence, the reason for all of our lessons.

The oracle, tarot, and self-improvement decks in stores, Amazon, and other online stores for less than $30.00 probably are printed by the thousands in China. U.S. Games Systems, Hay House, and other large companies have the money and storage for their decks. The average Indie deck creator doesn’t. Some people used Kickstarter or Indiegogo to support their decks, which is a ton of work, very stressful, and sometimes campaigns have lost money because they budgeted incorrectly.

Shuffled Ink printed my Analyze Your Dreams Oracle Cards. They did a beautiful job, and I have given them referrals. I ordered less than one hundred decks without a box and booklet to keep the sale price down. Instead, I created a PDF booklet, and I bought durable burlap bags in a tarot size. Plus purchased shipping items.

Then I created an Etsy store, did the write-up, took pictures, and slowly added a few other products. Etsy charges different fees to have a shop there. To make a decent profit, I needed to price the deck at $55.00. I’ve seen decks for a lot more than that on the platform. Buyers beware, if you see a deck for under $30.00, they might be a used or counterfeit deck. Please read the seller’s bio and other details to avoid being scammed.

My Etsy experience taught me this wasn’t what I wanted and the reason why I closed my shop at the beginning of 2022. Thankfully, I covered my expenses and made some money. I have eight decks left of Analyze Your Dreams Oracle Cards. Please contact me if you’re interested in them.

Game Crafter

After I created my former cards for dream interpretation, I went back to Game Crafter to create two other decks. It surprised me how much I liked their tuck boxes and used them for my poker-sized decks, Answers From Animals and Merlin’s Purrfect Lenormand.

With Game Crafter, I can offer card decks with a box for a much lower price than printing them on my own. Since they use print-on-demand, I don’t have to store them or ship out the cards. Another bonus with Game Crafter is their profile and sales pages are nicely done. Less work and making money is a win-win!

Today, I know what I want to do with my new dream interpretation deck, which will be on Game Crafter.

Old vs New Cards for Dream Interpretation

Since I am more experienced in creating oracle decks, I choose to make them differently. The first was to make each card in a similar artwork format, rather than having a bunch of different types of artwork. The back is different, too. I’m still leaving the booklet in a PDF that you can download or print out.

Some cards are still the same, while others are completely different. The old cards are in purple, while the new cards are blue. Here are two examples:

Food Dream

During the day, this woman had a realization her job was getting her nowhere and didn’t have room for growth. Instead of thinking about finding a job, she convinced herself to stay in her ten-year position with this company. She denied her feelings of being afraid about a job change.

I was at a small jewelry shop filled with gold jewelry and other types, which weren’t my style. There was no way I was going to buy anything. The saleslady saw me looking at rings and told me she would get more for me to look at so I could buy one. Instead of speaking up and telling her I wasn’t interested, I kept quiet. While she was gone, I saw a jewelry display that was more to my taste by a different seller.

That day I receive too many emails and LinkedIn messages from people trying to sell me a product or service. Lately, I’ve stopped replying, “No thank you, and take me off your list.” What I have been doing is marking them as spam or blacklisting the email and deleting it. For LinkedIn, I don’t respond.

This dream was a message to speak out in some situations, yet to continue to stay quiet in other circumstances. It also reinforces to buy from those who aren’t pushy. And to continue my gentle marketing approach..

A friend of mine posted a Facebook picture of a gray tiger-striped kitten her employee found. There was something about this kitten that called to me, even though I usually am attracted to cats with solid color fur. I left a comment letting her know I would ask my mate, while thinking the name Thor might work for this kitten. Yay, he said yes to another cat in our home.

I spoke to the foster mom to set up a time to meet the kitten and figure out a time to set up a vet appointment before bringing the kitten to my home. FYI, it’s important to have a kitten or puppy checked out by a vet first to make sure it doesn’t have any diseases that can spread to your other pets. The foster mom told me the kitten was probably dropped off on her street because it walked right up to her and was such a love bug. While the feral cats and kittens around her house would run away from her. Plus, it wasn’t the first time someone dropped off pets on her street. What is wrong with people?

After hanging up my phone, my angels whispered, “Tiger.” What a purrfect name! And I quickly dropped the idea of using Thor for the kitten’s name.

Meeting Tiger at the Foster Mom’s HouseInterpretation of My Dream

The people with long legs in the dream are symbolic for the person who didn’t care about Tiger’s welfare, his foster mom, and me, his forever mom. Even though Tiger isn’t orange-striped, he has a lot of gold on his belly. And like the color orange, he has lots of energy.
