Life with Four Cats

I now share my life with four cats. The love of my life and I knew it was coming at some point. We also know someday we may have more pets if something happens to his parents. My father choose to move into an assisted living cottage close to his daughters, so I took his two cats, Jeoffry (three-years-old) and Pip (nine-years-old) – aka the Jersey Boys. We already had a one-year-old and an eleven-year-old cat.

Nighttime Dream and Psychic Message

Twice a psychic friend of mine gave me the message that I would adopt another cat to have three cats and Rhiannon would be there. Then I had a dream where I was sitting on the stairs to my office. Rhiannon walked by me, then Tiger and an orange cat quickly followed.

These messages confused me because I knew someday I would inherit his two cats. What about Pip?

Message Revealed

Once all four cats came to live with us, the dream meaning and psychic message became clearer. The three cats were the boys and Rhiannon was here, too. Plus, Tiger and Pip look similar because they’re both tiger-striped. Pip’s coloring is more of a steel grey. While Tiger’s stripes have gray/brown, he has a white patch on his neck, and white paws. It’s easy to confuse them.

Honestly, I was worried about how my two would react to two new cats. It’s not just meet and greet as one of my friends thought. Cats are very territorial. We had a heck of a time introducing a kitten, Tiger, to Rhiannon, who is a senior cat. Imagine minding your own business when a teenager who’s crushing on you jumps on you and knocks you to the ground. This is what Rhiannon dealt with and often hid to get away from him. Being a helicopter mom, I might have delayed their integration process.

This time I was better prepared and took off the propellers from my helicopter. Of course, we kept a basecamp for the new cats as recommended by Jackson Galaxy. Rubbed their scents on a cloth to let the other cats get used to their scent. And swap the cats from the basecamp to the house and vice versa. We fed them at a distance and little by little put the dishes closer. I used Feliway spray, too. In less than two weeks, the boys are hanging out, although Tiger and Jeoffry occasionally hiss at each other. It took Rhiannon two weeks to stop hiding, yet she keeps her distance, and will hiss at the Jersey Boys if they get too close to her. At least, Tiger stopped jumping on her and wrestles with Pip.

What a relief it was when the integration process was over! Except for our parakeet, Pedro, as we still don’t trust the Jersey Boys alone with him. However, they are becoming less interested in him. The cats are now free to roam the house when the humans go out and about. Maybe one day we won’t have to keep Pedro secured behind closed doors.

Pros and Cons of Life with Four Cats

There’s never a dull moment in our household! And each cat has its own unique personality. For instance, our cats have different preferences for how they receive affection. Pip is a lap cat. Rhiannon likes to lie at my side. Jeoffry licks my face/neck and sits at my side. Tiger allows me to pet him on the floor or when he’s sitting in the cat tree. Even though each style of affection is different, it’s how they love us.

Here are four pros and cons of life with four cats:

Four ConsConstant cleaning.Naughty cat behavior.More cats to brush and clip claws.Occasional catfights.

To me, the kitty’s affection will always outweigh any cons, even when I clean up cat puke.

In Purr-Conclusion Of Life with Four Cats

Life with four cats isn’t always easy or peaceful, yet we’re beginning to adjust. Before long, it will feel normal. One thing will never change whether it’s with one cat or four cats, the quiet moments, and how adorable they look when sleeping.

Precognitive Dream of My Aging Father

I had the strangest precognitive dream of my aging father, and I just had to share it with you! My dream is another example of why not to rely on a dream dictionary app or book. This dream baffled me upon awakening, although I thought of a couple of possible interpretations. It was only until an event happened it made sense.

Before I go into my dream, let me give you some background information. My father is in his late eighties and living with two male house cats in an apartment in New Jersey, USA, where I’m originally from. My sister and I live in North Carolina, USA, about an hour away from each other. To drive from where we live in North Carolina to New Jersey can take anywhere from ten to sixteen hours, depending on the traffic and route taken. And it takes two airplane rides to get there. We worry about him because he has passed out and had two falls. The first fall he broke his front tooth and now has to use a cane. He broke his nose during the second fall. The doctors don’t know what the issue is.

Precognitive Dream of My Aging Father

FYI I used to do medical massage in my 30s. The dream had other parts to it, but here is the important part:

I was doing a massage technique where I went up the side of my father’s spinal column, then from his shoulders to his neck, and up underneath his head. Most of his upper body was on the table, but his hips and legs were in a cage that was similar to a birdcage.

In the next scene, our parakeet, Pedro, was out of his birdcage and walking on the carpet. I was concerned because the cats might get him (not mine or my father’s cats). So, I grabbed him and stuck him back in his birdcage. What a relief!

Events Following the Precognitive Dream of My Aging Father

As I mentioned earlier, a couple of interpretations came to me. Although the following event that happened later in the day proved this was really a precognitive dream. Tuesdays at 9 AM is our standard father/daughter time to talk, and I always try to get some work done beforehand. I was in the middle of posting on LinkedIn when my father called. Is it 9 AM already? I thought.

It was 8:15 am. Sadly, my dad passed out and has his third fall. This time, he couldn’t get up from the fall. He called out to Siri, “Call Pamela Cummins.” Thank God for Siri’s HomePod! After getting in touch with the people in his apartment building, they called 911 and opened up his door for the ambulance. At the hospital, my father had x-rays taken and a CAT scan done. There were no serious injuries, which I’m grateful for. He broke his nose again, his hands and shoulders hurt because he probably landed on them, and he has bruises. My sister is with him now.

We all agreed he can’t be on his own during a family Zoom meeting. Dad will call around to check on assisted living homes in North Carolina, as they are much more affordable than New Jersey. But first he needs to recover from the fall.

Interpretation of My Dream

The massage technique and grabbing Pedro from the floor (our parakeet) were symbolic of me taking action for my dad when he fell. Also, his upper body took the brunt of the injuries.

What I find interesting in this dream is when he was on the table and the lower half of his body was in a birdcage. I get two interpretations for this.

His legs aren’t working like they used to and his legs are/feel caged. While his upper body is working fine.This could also be symbolic of the CAT scan he had in the hospital. Therefore, the massage meant him getting medical attention, while the cats getting him was really about him getting a CAT scan.

Now, for the part of the dream where I put Pedro back in his cage. Here are two dream meanings:

My feelings of relief that my father is safe back in his apartment.Since birds fly, his spirit was debating whether to leave his body when he fell. Because of my sister and me wanting him to stay on the planet, he decided to get back into his body aka cage.

This dream shows different meanings for the precognitive category, yet would have different interpretations in other dream categories.

Final Thoughts on Aging

Let’s face it, it’s hard watching our elders age and transition into the afterlife! Even when you know life goes on, and have experienced visitations from the deceased loved ones in the daytime or your nighttime dreams like I have. It’s also a mirror of our own future of aging and eventual death.

Perhaps we’re weird in my family or just facing reality because we talk about dying and our wishes. My father has even planned and paid for his body to be flown in and cremated at a funeral home. And the memorial, too. Plus, he made sure I take care of his two cats.

I encourage you to spend time with your loved ones. Do your best to resolve issues, even if it’s only cleaning your side of the street as you are powerless over their actions and how they chose to clean their side of the street. Make every minute count!

It’s a hard conversation, yet find out your aging father and other loved ones’ wishes for what happens when they get older and what their wishes are for passing. Then respect their wishes and do what they asked, even when you disagree. Know that someday you will see them again.

The second post used my ditching the hair dye journey for the timing to reach a goal. Whether you’re having a good or bad hair day, this blog for you.

Hair Analogies for Dream Symbols

One of my missions as a dream interpreter is to stop people from using dream dictionaries. Why? Dream apps and dictionaries are similar to a child’s ABC book. A child needs to learn the basic alphabet, yet they quickly move on to form words, sentences, paragraphs, and so on… When you want to understand your dream meanings, a dream app is helpful for those who are new to dream interpretation. Although it’s important to take the author’s meanings for a symbol with a grain of salt; instead use it to do a check in to see if the meaning is right for your dream or to trigger the right message. Once you have the general foundation of symbolism, ditch the app and go within for the correct meaning.

Recently, I was thinking about how dream symbols’ meanings were similar to our hair. Everyone’s hair is different. Let’s look at this analogy. There’s straight, wavy, curly, and kinky hair. Lengths vary too, anywhere from bald to past the butt. Everyone’s ‘true hair color’ is unique. People with straight and wavy hair can brush and comb their hair when it’s dry. If I brush my curly hair when it’s dry, then I’m ready for my Halloween outfit!

How often we wash our hair varies. My mate has to wash his hair every other day, or it gets greasy. If I did that, my hair would be like dry leaves. Instead, I wash my hair every 5 to 7 days. Products are similar, too. I tried the Kinky-Curly Come Clean shampoo and my hair screamed for a ton of conditioner and leave in. While my man’s hair looks great when he uses this product.

Hopefully, this helps you to recognize how dream symbols’ meanings vary. Your symbols and dream’s meaning depend upon your society, experiences, relationships, personality, present obstacles, and much more… Instead of reaching for a dream app, ponder on what a symbol means to you.

Hair Analogies for Goals

As some of you know, when I ditched the dye, I went cold turkey. March 11, 2023, was three years since I got my hair painted. Here’s the video I created to celebrate my three year silver anniversary.

This video is a reminder of how goals take time and work. The beginning is awkward, like my skunk line. While the halfway point feels better, yet we’re eager to finish the goal. And as we get closer to the finish line, it’s exciting with a bit of sadness that the journey is almost over. The path will heal your inner and outer self!

A Goal’s Journey

Beginning

When you begin a goal, it’s normal to feel insecure and awkward because you are learning a new skill and path. There will always be naysayers who say you can’t do this; do it anyway. Think about and visualize your desired outcome. Remind yourself often why you are working on achieving this goal.

Halfway Point

Sometimes this is where people give up as it may become harder, yet you’re so close. You may receive unsolicited advice on what you should do. Keep going, ignore the critics and undesired feedback, and then congratulate yourself for the strength to continue the journey.

Close to the Finish Line

How exciting it is when your goal is just in sight. You’ve worked so hard to get here! But don’t be surprised at the wide range of emotions that will come up. Fear of it all coming crashing done. You might desire to isolate to either keep this achievement to yourself or not to deal with other’s jealousy. Perhaps you are feeling superior and want to show off. There’s nothing wrong with tooting your horn as long as you’re NOT putting others down. Remember, but for the grace of God go I. Or you could be feeling a little sad that it’s almost over. All these feelings are okay and lessons for your journey.

You Achieved Your Goal

It’s important that you bask in the moment and celebrate with others when you accomplish your goal! You deserve it after all that hard work. When you are ready, set another goal. And don’t forget to help others who desire where you’re at.

Final Thoughts on Hair Analogies

Hair, dream messages, and goals are important for us humans. Hair is not only a billion dollar industry, it’s a part of who we are. No wonder we have dreams about our hair, and why different people have different meanings for the hair symbol. Dream messages occur every time we sleep, attempting to guide us in life and with our goals. Setting goals is important for our personal and spiritual growth.
