Unpleasant Memories of Grandma
I’ve been putting this blog, “Unpleasant Memories of Grandma,” on hold. Why? Because I didn’t want to deal with negative feedback from family members who had better experiences with her. Since I lost my Facebook account, I felt this would be a perfect time. For anyone who feels offended by my post, please remember this was my authentic experiences with her.
Today when I think about my grandmother, it’s a funny feeling because even though I forgave her, I still don’t like her. Let’s go back to my first important memory.
“Why did you have to throw up in the sink? Why didn’t you throw up in the toilet? Now I have to clean up this mess!” Those words of anger spoken by my grandmother will be forever stamped into my brain. She ignored my words about how I couldn’t make it to the toilet, nor did she care that her eight-year-old granddaughter didn’t feel well. It still baffles me why grandma never noticed I was drunk or how that could have been possible from a tiny amount of Passover wine in my glass. She never knew how I went around the table drinking out of unattended glasses of wine.
Early Unpleasant Memories of GrandmaGrandmother often disregarded my opinions. A classic example was when her granddaughter (from her son) was getting married. My father told his mother-in-law he would buy my sister’s and mine’s dress from the store. She poo-poohed that and insisted on sewing them. Then she asked us what types of dresses we wanted. I still cringe when I think about the ugly dress she made for me, which totally differed from what I asked for! Even worse, it made me look like I was pregnant. Grandmother never fixed the dress, ignoring my numerous requests to take it in. I felt so embarrassed wearing this horrible dress to the wedding. How I bite my tongue whenever someone complimented it.
Grandma favored her son and his family with words or actions around me, which is why I often felt like a second-class citizen at family events. This wasn’t my imagination. Once when my sister and I slept over at our grandparent’s house. My sister woke me up with tears streaming down her face because she had snooped around looking for our holiday gifts. She found one present for each of us and twenty presents for our male cousin.
At one family event, I got up the courage to tell my grandmother what I thought of her. It felt so good to finally get it off my chest for about twenty seconds. Then the adults reprimanded me and someone yelled, “What a horrible child I was!”
Click to Learn MoreLater Unpleasant Memories of GrandmaFast forward to my mom’s funeral. My dad attended, even though he remarried years ago. After the service, he told me, “I thought about it. You and your sister should have been sitting in the front for your mother’s service instead of the back.” I replied, “No, dad. It was supposed to be that way.” He gave me a shocked look before we went to bury mom.
By that time, I was used to my grandma’s treatment. Family members surrounded her in the front row. It never crossed her mind to invite the two children who came from her daughter’s womb to sit up front with her. I count my blessings that I was allowed to speak at my mother’s service.
The last time I saw my grandmother was when she was preparing to move from her apartment into an assisted living home. She laid out jewelry for me to choose from. It was cheap costume jewelry, which I wouldn’t even buy at a secondhand store. Except for a gold Jewish star pendant, there were diamonds within the star. I prefer silver, but wanted something nice from my grandmother. As I went to reach for it, she exclaimed, “No, not that one!” A family member convinced her to let me have it. If she didn’t want me to have it, why would she even show it to me? Years later, I hocked it when money was tight to buy food and pay a bill.
Grandma’s DeathThere were no tears shed upon hearing of her passing. I declined when my sister asked me to ride with her family to grandma’s service. The idea of sitting there while listening to what a wonderful woman she was turned my stomach. That was their reality, not mine. It would have been disrespectful for me to speak of my experiences with her at the funeral. Besides, being called a horrible child once in a lifetime was enough.
What I LearnedEvery relationship has lessons to learn and teach. Besides to always puke in the toilet, I learned these three lessons:
My grandmother was a product of her environment and she did the best she could. Perhaps I triggered an unhealed issue within her? Her opinions and treatment of me doesn’t define who I am.I do my best to treat people with respect, acceptance of who they are, and not to show favoritism.I only allow people in my life who love and accept me for who I am.In ConclusionIt’s not unusual for my departed loved ones to visit me while I am awake or in my dreams. My mom and two cats visited me in my dreams before they died. Even my parakeet, Birdy Bird, visited me several times while I was meditating after he had passed.
My grandmother never did. Many, many years ago, I asked her for a sign. A little later, I was walking and spotted a shining coin on the streets of Denville, New Jersey. Imagine my surprise when I saw it was a coin from Africa with an elephant on it. I love elephants and knew it was a sign from grandma. Although when I think about it, symbolically it makes sense. Our relationship was definitely in foreign territory. Or maybe we had lived a previous life in Africa and our karma became balanced?

The Wisdom Inside of You
Are you aware of the wisdom inside of you? Sadly, many aren’t. Some people were never taught how to access it. When they did access it, people might have teased or punished them. Perhaps these teasers or punishers were afraid of their own wisdom.
To tap into your inner wisdom, I created a forty-five second video for you to watch. If you want to learn a more in-depth version of this video, please read my LinkedIn article/newsletter Tips to Listen to Your Inner Wisdom.

My Facebook Got Hacked, a Curse or a Blessing?
To make a long story short, my Facebook got hacked, which made me wonder if it was a curse or a blessing. Twelve years of posts, friends, and groups are poof, gone! I was furious at the hacker and hoped whoever it was would get diarrhea. Then I quickly realized what a pathetic life he/she must have to be living such a dishonest life, so I took back my wish for them to get the runs. I wouldn’t want their path or karma.
I want to share my experience with you in case your Facebook account gets hacked, then deactivated. This post will go over the actions I took, the curse/blessings of losing my account, and a dream I had the night before my Facebook got hacked.
My Facebook Got Hacked DetailsBefore I go into the details, let me share important advice I took from the authors on the Wide for the Win Facebook group. It’s crucial to put someone you trust as the administer for your Facebook business page (I’m not sure if you can do this with a personal page). My honey is mine, and he’s been so helpful. He wrote a letter to Facebook from my business page about what happened. Then he created a post to contact me through my website or other social media because my account got hacked and we’re pending a Facebook appeal.
My ego got excited that there were twenty-five comments. Wow, people must really miss me! Nope. The comments were from people who claimed so and so could get my account back. Spammers or bots? Delete comment, delete comment, delete…
What I did immediately was change a ton of passwords for my emails, website, social media accounts, author accounts, banking, etc. I also checked that none of my accounts had Facebook access and my payment systems were correct. Perhaps I went overboard, although I rather be safe than sorry. Thankfully, I didn’t have any type of payment system set up on my Facebook account, nor did I put their apps on my phone or tablet, instead I always logged in.
The CurseObviously, I was wigging out when this first happened. Then sadness hit. I could no longer connect with my family and friends. My Caturday’s posts of my cats were gone…

My favorite Facebook groups were no longer an option to mingle with. Sob! And even worse, I was the administer of the group, A Smashwords of Everyone! To avoid headaches, I set it up that new people and posts had to be approved by me.
I’ve attempted to email two authors who post a lot in the Smashwords’ group. They don’t have a contact form or email on their website. What? Authors, put a contact form on your website! I couldn’t message one author privately on Twitter, so I left a comment on her post. It’s out of my hands now.
My sister suggested opening a new account. Just the thought of it was exhausting, zzz. There’s no way I’m going to spend time re-friending hundreds of people and re-joining a bunch of groups, which took over a decade to do. What happens if I get kicked off again?
The BlessingWe admitted we were powerless over Facebook – that our lives have become unmanageable. I got to admit that I can be a Facebook addict. If I added all the hours I spent there, it would be shocking. Perhaps the Facebook’s Gods will reactivate my account. If not, then it is meant to be.
I did not build my business on Facebook. If you’re only using it for your business, take the steps to create a website of one or more pages and other social media accounts. Don’t put your eggs in one basket. I have a website and a newsletter. Plus, I use LinkedIn and Pinterest accounts for my business.
Time is a major benefit of losing my Facebook. I’ll use that time to write more blogs, work on my eighth book, and create another oracle deck. Since I’ve been working on building up my LinkedIn account and I can spend a little more time there. LinkedIn doesn’t care, nor do Linkers become offended if I talk about my business, as long as I don’t do the buy my services and products constantly. If a miracle happens and I get my Facebook back, I’ll be spending less time there.
Lastly, the people who truly care about me will find other ways to connect with me. This morning I received a text from a Facebook friend asking if I was okay. It reminds me of when I moved from New Jersey, USA, to Eastern North Carolina. Many people lost touch with me, yet the ones who counted stayed in touch with me.
What’s Pamela Dreaming? The night before my Facebook got hacked, I dreamed:
A redheaded woman was telling people about things that I said. I never had spoken those words, and she was misrepresenting who I was. I started to defend myself, then stopped as I thought to myself – stop, it’s not worth the hassle.
InterpretationThe redheaded woman represents my root charka, which is the color red. Our root charka connects us to the Earth and our family/tribe. She was symbolic of Facebook and her words represented the hacker who misrepresented my Facebook account. (Perhaps the hacker has red hair and is a woman?) I wanted to defend my Facebook account, yet I decided to let go…
Final Thoughts on My Facebook Got HackedIf you want to stay in touch with me, please follow my blog. Or take advantage of my gift package and I’ll add you add to my newsletter. I’m also starting the Going Within Circle and now accepting enrollment.

Dream Meanings for Bats
If you’re wondering what the dream meanings for bats are, then you have come to the right place. Just a reminder that symbols in a dream can have many different meanings because of your feelings, your life situations, and occurrences from your past.
General Dream Meanings for BatsHere are ten meanings:
A creepy person. It’s time to enjoy the nightlife. There’s a person who is driving you batty. This is really about a baseball bat.The need to belong to a group. To find the light within the dark.A man cave or private space. It represents Dracula who turned into a bat. It’s important to rely on your instincts before you can see the results. The desire for a superhero to save you or to search for the hero within.Of course, there are many more meanings for the bat symbol.
Pay Attention to Your FeelingsYour dream meanings for bats can change depending on how you felt in a dream. Let’s take the following dream example:
A bat flies out of nowhere and lands on top of your head.
These are three interpretations of the dream:Sarah wakes up from this horrific dream shaking and realizes it represents her negative thoughts.Roger loves bats! This dream shows his desire to have a bat for a pet.Linda felt anger when she had the dream. She knows it’s about being sued because her son hit a boy (from another team) in the head with a baseball bat.
Experiences Effect Dream Meanings for BatsBesides feelings in a dream, your past situations can alter the meaning. The message may link back to that experience fully. Your dream might be about a person who triggers the emotion from that memory. Or issues you’re having today have an aspect of that experience.
The following are three examples of bat memories:
Jerry got lost in the woods at seven. He spent a scary night alone in a cave where bats were flying in and out.Tony’s parents had bat houses in their yard and he loved watching them fly.My sister and I were terrified of a bat in the attic when we were children. So we wrote a letter asking him to leave and slipped it under the door. How could these memories change a dream’s meaning? Here’s another dream example:
Upon opening a window, a bat flies into the room.
Dream Interpretation for Current Life SituationsJerry’s marriage is having problems, and his wife wants him to go to therapy. But he’s afraid to go and stays in his man cave.Tony is hopeful that moving his new bat house closer to his bedroom window will encourage bats to hang out in his room.I need to have a conversation with my sister about a difficult subject. The best approach would be to write an email.Final Thoughts on Dream Meanings for BatsDid these examples encourage you to look a little deeper into your bat symbol? That was my intention. Take a deep breath, and think about your feelings in your bat dream. Then ask yourself how it connects to your life, and allow the answer to come.

Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, and Christmas Quotes
I love quotes and thought it would be fun to do a blog about Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, and Christmas quotes. There are more holidays in December, but I focused on these three holidays.
Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, and Christmas QuotesMay the following quotes bring you much peace and joy this holiday season!
Hanukkah QuotesMay the lights of Hanukkah usher in a better world for all humankind. ~ Anonymous
Hanukkah is about the spark of the divine in all of us made in God’s image. ~ Suzanne Fields
The proper response, as Hanukkah teaches, is not to curse the darkness but to light a candle. ~ Irving Greenberg
At this time of year, when the sun is most hidden, the holiday of Hanukkah celebrates the rays of hope and light. Often, it is through simple and unrecognized miracles that we are able to feel the warmth of hope and light. ~ Rafael Goldstein
Winter Solstice QuotesThis is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year’s threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future; the place of caught breath. ~ Margaret Atwood
The winter solstice has always been special to me as a barren darkness that gives birth to a verdant future beyond imagination, a time of pain and retreat that produces something impossibly joyful. floating, like a monarch butterfly skillfully detaching itself from its cocoon, unfurling into unexpected glories. ~ Gary Zukav
Today we celebrate light and honor the wisdom of the shadows. In connecting with the natural world in a way that honors the sacred immanence in all things, we establish a resonance with the seasons. ~ Dacha Avelin
Winter Solstice Blessings
May the longest night and the shortest day
Bring rest to your mind and soul
I pray
May you find guidance and may you find peace
As the cycle of light will slowly increase
Embrace the magic that the darkness bears
Breathe deep in the chill
And shift in the air
May you always be blessed with the light from within
And may well-being be yours as the new cycle begins.
Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling. ~Edna Ferber
I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all year long. ~ Charles Dickens
Peace on earth will come to stay, when we live Christmas every day. ~ Helen Steiner Rice
What is Christmas? It is the tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace. ~ Agnes M. Pharo
Final ThoughtsWhatever holiday you celebrate in December, I wish you much peace and joy! I have gift certificates for my services or treat yourself. And check out my shop, too.

Women’s Spiritual Holiday Gifts
These recommended women’s spiritual holiday gifts are books, clothing, and music. Their products are perfect for the holiday and throughout the year for loved ones and yourself. I have known each of them for many years, and I’ve used their merchandise.
After you watch the short video, I’ll write about how I met each seller. Here’s the video:
Women’s Spiritual Holiday GiftsBackground on Women’s Spiritual Holiday GiftsHere’s the history of how we meet in alphabetical order of their last names. Please click on their names to learn more.
Alianne DonnelySmashwords is where I buy most of my eBooks because Mark Coker’s company is a gigantic supporter of self-published authors. Unlike another company that encourages exclusivity and constantly is creating ever-changing rules for their bottom line. Therefore, I joined a Facebook group called A Smashwords Book for Everyone. This group is where I discovered Alianne and her books back in 2013.
Talk about being blown away by her writing! Her book, The Royal Wizard, can be compared to the works of Marion Zimmer Bradley and Anne McCaffrey. Yes, she’s that good. What I really appreciate about Alianne is she’s talented enough to write in many genres. I’ve read everything she has written, except Wolfen. Why? After reading two chapters of her outstanding writing that made the story come to life, I knew to not continue. You see, I am a wimp when it comes to horror, and realized that I would have nightmares for weeks!
Alianne and I continue to connect on Facebook and email, where I discovered that not only is she an awesome author, she’s a delightful person! Giggle. Upon finishing The Royal Wizard and praising it to no end – Chris, my honey, teased that I had a hard-on for her. Kind of hard to do as I’m a woman; however, the reason she’s one of my favorite authors.
Dyan GarrisAround 2008/2009, I was an adviser for lines that we psychics nicknamed minimum wages for psychics. Therefore, what a pleasure it was to apply for her former psychic line, Voice of the Angels. Dyan Garris paid her psychics a good wage; however, more importantly, she created a line that was filled with ethical, loving advisers that served the public intending to assist in their self-growth.
What I love about Dyan is that she has gifts in many areas. She is a fabulous musician who is a composer of beautiful soothing music for the soul, an author, creator of oracle decks, psychic/medium, website and tech master, and with high principles in business.
Dyan has invited me to work with her on several of her projects, as well as her being a guest on my former radio shows and podcasts. We are colleagues, nevertheless; we are so much more. And I’m blessed to have her in my life.
Chariss K. WalkerWould you believe Chariss also had books on Smashword? Grin. She’s another author I met at the Smashwords Facebook group I mentioned earlier. We immediately clicked as we enjoy and have many things in common: metaphysics, holistic healing, personal and spiritual growth, being an author, reading, and more…
Chariss went from assisting individuals to heal and grow to accomplish her goal of reaching a larger audience by publishing books. Her heart is so HUGE! Not only does she write nonfiction, she authors fiction, both using a spiritual theme. Some of her books have insight into taboo topics that society needs to heal. Even though some of her topics are intense, Chariss is talented enough to write in a way for everyone to understand, regardless of their reading abilities. I’ve also had the privilege of giving her feedback on her darker fiction books before she publishes them. Can you say – perks!
Being an Indie author can be frustrating. Chariss is a bright light in the world of self-publishing. I look forward to our continued supportive friendship…
Tiffany White Sage WomanMy former radio show, The Love Channel Show, was run by not only myself but also on three radio networks. The second network was where I met Tiffany. Every week we talked before and after the show, as well as connecting on Facebook. She was so easy to work with that when she left the network to establish her own; it was a no-brainer to continue with her.
Five to six years ago, my angels pushed me to leave my radio show. Honestly, I was nervous about her reaction as I had an unpleasant experience when I left another network (not Tiffany’s) and sadly, we no longer speak. Whew! Thankfully, Tiffany was very mature about me leaving her network. We continue to collaborate, whether that’s being a guest on a show/blog, or networking.
Tiffany is a very talented psychic medium, who has done accurate readings for me. She is also a gifted healer in many healing modalities. Her radio network, Goldylocks Production, is on many platforms, including iHeart Radio.
Conclusion of Women’s Spiritual Holiday GiftsIt is an honor knowing these ladies, even though I haven’t met them in person. I’m grateful for the internet, Facebook, and the phone serving as a platform so that I may interact with them. I consider them colleagues and friends. Please check out their books, music, and products. You can find my services here.
Whatever holiday you celebrate in December, I wish you much peace and happiness!
