I'm going on my tech detox holiday tomorrow. Only time will tell if I shall return with an eerie zen-like calm or merelybecome a gibbering wreck.

No comments from you lot in the gallery.

See you in 9 days!

Does anyone still have a ticket for Soundwave?

A friend has a friend who is keen to go and waited too long for a ticket.

If you have a spare Soundwave Melbourne ticket going, could you call Brad on 0400 178944 to negotiate.

GLBT Bookshelf

[info:] aphephobia   put me onto this wiki when I was talking about Fly By Night - and now I have my page on the site, and another place to promote my queer crime novel!

Poking around the bookshelves, there seem to be some very entertaining titles there. Unspoken, about werepeople and hunters, The Pleasure Slave (lots of shenanigans in Roman times) and the like.

If you have GLBT music or art to share, or you want to leave reviews, go and have a poke around.

Damn. More *wants*

Over on Facebook, I was ignoring Doppelganger Week (which has been going for about a month now I reckon) because I didn't think I looked like anyone famous. My friend mordwen suggested, however, that she thought Camryn Manheim was my twin. I hadn't heard of Manheim before, but now I have, I am very flattered. I'm also incredibly covetous of Manheim's autobiography, delightfully titled "Wake Up, I'm Fat!"

Sadly, having finally decided to stop spending money, on the basis that I am going on...

The universe loves me a lot

Because on the weekend I saw Daybreakers with Tim and [info:] kesalemma   and it was very cool. And on Saturday I saw [info:] sharpest_rose   for her birthday, along with the merry band of amazing women who gather in her presence. And then I went out for drinks with my friend Richard for his 40th birthday, and he was dressed in the most amazing bright orange suit with a black shirt and black nail polish, which clearly make him awesome. And on Sunday I had breakfast with my Dad, his wife, and Jess and Lachy (wh...

So. Those Fall Out Boy plushies.

I bought 'em. It was a good price.

I'm such a fangirl.

Transgender teen fic!

Two new books coming from Ford Street Publishing - including f2m, about a transitioning teenager, going female to male. A new vampire book too, but it's f2m I'm particularly excited about.

The site blurb:

f2m by Hazel Edwards and Ryan Kennedy: School-leaver Skye plays guitar in her all-female Chronic Cramps band. Making her name in the punk/indie scene is easier than FTM (female to male) transitioning: from Skye to Finn, from girl to man. Uncovering genetic mysteries about family heritage...

So. I have this really ridiculous thing to ask...

It's my birthday in March. Big ol' 45 coming there.

And what with my band breaking up and all, it occurred to me that what I need – obviously – is a set of those Fall Out Boy plush dolls. Because that's what every 45 year old Australian woman wants and needs.

So. If anyone is so moved, I've added them to my Amazon wishlist. Naturally, if you're moved to indulge me in this matter, it doesn't matter where you source them. Ebay has a couple for sale too.

You are naturally also utterly free to ignor...

And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds...

Well, fat chance of that, really. But last night Tim demonstrated reason 1057 why he's the perfect man for me. He noticed my Facebook postings about how sad I was about Fall Out Boy's passing. (Given that they're all mumbling that maybe they'll do something in a few years, but really, I know how hard it is to go back to something once you've moved on and I'm not holding my breath.)

Anyway, I said I felt silly getting so upset about a band. He pointed out that it's always sad when something...
