OMG I love these rats

Jenner's ongoing storylines with the romance between Doc Rat, Ben, and Danielle the rat dentist is making my little heart go "oooh, oooh, oooh" all this week!

Today's strip.

You might need to go back a few weeks to get the full impact, but I seriously love these rats and this strip. Jenner sells collections of his strips as well, if you're looking for something both Aussie, artistic and excellent for a friend this xmas. :)

Being Human!

I've just read on vampirecafe that a second season of Being Human has been/is being made and will come out in January 2010. This is excellent news!! First time I've watched a supernatural show and preferred the werewolf. The sweet little fluffy bunny of a werewolf.

If your best friend and/or romantic partner read all of your email for the last month (or longer), how would it impact your relationship(s) and why?

Well, provided they'd done it with my permission and not snuck in - in which case, both best friend and romantic partner would be beaten with birch sticks - I think they would individually and collectively be a little puzzled by the exchanges relating to FOB, a little amused by that as well, and a little a...

GaryView: The Hunger

Lissa: Look what I found at the video store going cheap! The Hunger!
Gary: I've seen that.
Lissa: Oh? But it's not on your shelf?
Gary: It's around. In the desk drawer I think.
Lissa: Oh. Sorry. I thought you didn't have it.
Gary: Um. Well. I do. It's still wrapped, I think.
Lissa: You haven't even opened it?
Gary: No. I saw it at the cinema when it first came out.
Lissa: And you keep a copy in your drawer.
Gary: It's for the collection.
Lissa: But it's in the drawer.
Gary: Yes.
Lissa: Okay. Uh. Didn't y...

Well, that's a little ominous.

Who needs a Narrelle when a Narrelle can be broken?

Which song was this lyric from?
Get your own lyrics:
it's a shame the song generator doesn't look for substitutes with the same number of syllables though.

HAHAHAHAHA! Jess! Tim! Theatre! Films! Books! Vampires! Gary and Lissa! That's my year all right.

Go to your calendar/archive and find the first entry for each month of 2009 (not including memes of course). Post the first line/sentence of it in your journal, and that's your "Year in review".

I've included the entry title in mine as well, because it amuses me to do so.

1. "The 80s were a special time..." Tim and I went to the Rooftop Cinema last night, to see Flashdance.

2. "Oh, Zanna, DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" It's summertime, and the Midsumma Festival is buzzing all over this fine city.

3...

My love can be bought.

Tim has just returned from foraging at the Collingwood Children's Farm market and brought back some exquisite, smooth, organic, free trade, vegan chocolate! And there's a retailer in Degraves Street!!!

Cocoa Rhapsody! OM NOM NOM NOM NOM

Tim knows the way to my heart. This is why he is my man.

Tis the season...

In the second-last show on The Outland Institute, I talked about which books folks should think about when buying xmas presents. Here's the list, with some additions, in case you find it useful!

Classics:
It's always good to dip into the classics and find out what all the fuss is about. No, the film of the book is not a substitute.
Breakfast At Tiffany’s by Truman Capote.
On the Road by Jack Kerouac

Vampire Fiction:
Of course.
Dracula by Bram Stoker (or this here Pop-up version)
Let the Right...

It's a long way...

I flew to Perth on Saturday to join T, who came across the country via the Indian-pacific rail. With Shannon Noll. Not in the same cabin.

Alas I won't have time to catch up with any of WA LJ peeps because we're dashing about doing travel and family stuff this trip. Yesterday we spent mostly with Tim's mum, Kath.

Today we came to Fremantle and did the Highway to Hell tour. It starts at the statue of Bon Scott at the fishing boat harbour then goes around the places he used to hang out when he w...
