Poem #1: What I Wouldn't Give

What I Wouldn’t Give
I am a leopardwith a thousand spots, freckles and dots, skin pockedwith damage from the sun.The sun we thrive and play beneath, each and every one.
Curse of the fair-skinnedyou could say,but it was alwaysreckless play, watery sunblock ornone at all, running in the sun all day.
Each spot a story,a tattoo of the glory:water parks, beaches, soccer games, hikes;each cluster a star mapof things I didright.
Perhaps I could have beenBeautywith milky, fine skin, and no one would’ve knownthe...

Korean Black Bean Noodles (Jajangmyeon) and Kdramas
If you've read any of my "about me" pages or tiny author blurbs, either in my books or profiles, you may have gotten the hint that I'm a little bit of a geek... and that's probably sugarcoating it. I love anime. I have a mini library that is at least 75% manga, comic books, and Japanese language workbooks. I compulsively fill my Steam video game library like no tomorrow, I have taken up attempting to make traditional bento boxes, and Hayao Miyazaki and Joss Whedon are storytelling gods in my...

The Dreaming Tree: New Cover and New Chapter!
So, the cover I revealed last time was sort of in-the-works, but I ran out of time and energy to finish it before my post. But voila, it's done!
A little more dreamy/creepy, right? On top of that, part two of chapter one is now up on Wattpad, and the second chapter is scheduled to be up within the next couple days. I hope you enjoy!
Read Chapter 1.2 Here
Not to go off on a tangent, but as I type all this, I'm literally inhaling a third helping of cheesy hash brown casserole my partne...

A new story you can read! For free!
A couple small updates first:
I tried changing up the blog layout a little bit this week. It feels cleaner, but I don't know if it's actually easier to navigate. You'll have to let me know... I'm still experimenting. This one is supposed to be much nicer to view on mobile devices. I always use my laptop and computer for things, so I wouldn't really know.
Also, week two of the Insanity workout program is going strong! I'm dying a little less this week. I have never once done a proper push-up (so...

This week: Insanity
My blog post this week is late and short, and there's a ridiculous reason for it: everything hurts. No, I didn't get in an accident or anything that crazy... I got dragged into starting the Insanity workout program with my twin brother. 30-40 minute intense workouts six days a week for 60 days. We just completed Day 4 today and I can barely stand, much less get up and down the stairs outside my apartment. Why don't my legs work? Help.
Pro: I don't feel as guilty anymore sitting at my desk...

My body has betrayed me.
Lately I've noticed that sitting down at a desk all the time for work and gaming is not actually great for your body. That's probably obvious, but out of the myriad of horrible things constant sitting can bring on (weight gain, back pain, Igor-like humps, etc.), I have started to develop the unthinkable: neck lines.
Okay, so like one. Maybe two on a good day. Granted, I tend to think they're a little worse than they are.
Of course, the moment I noticed this, I googled it... and like all good go...

I'm not very good at remembering to blog, am I?
It's a curse. Each time I try to get in a basic blogging rhythm, something "real world-y" throws me off course, and then I get caught up in the current and whisked away to other tasks and problems. There are so many people who update social media feeds and blogs weekly, even daily, and I am very, very jealous of their drive and charisma.
That said, I apologize for my introverted lack of social skills and schedule-keeping. For those interested in the second Curse of the Blood Fox book updates,...
