Restless (A Curse of the Blood Fox Short) Part 9 - FINAL

Here it is, the end of the Curse of the Blood Fox short! Again, this takes place with characters from my books, between book one and book two (soon to be done!). Since most of this was written quickly and haphazardly, I definitely plan to give it another good, thorough edit with some tighter scenes and dialogue. It will go up on the kindle store when I'm done, for free, so keep an eye out for the update!

((Restless, continued from last time:))

I didn’t dare risk looking back to see what it was....

Give Me Storms (A Poem) and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Happy Valentine's Day, lurkers! I hope you know you are amazing. I miss posting everyday, so while I'm writing and editing all these larger works, I think I'm going to try to keep up with little posts and thoughts in the meantime. Today, a love poem to life and humanity.

Give Me Storms
The world is beautiful when it's still and blue, and just as magnificent when it rages.Stillness is only the tension ofmovement waiting to happen.   Swaying      crouching    &nb...

Restless (A Curse of the Blood Fox Short) Part 8

Well, I've still been writing every day (working on other projects) but my time management skills really aren't where they need to be yet. While I work on getting them up to par, I still need to finish this little story, right? Only one part left after this one!

((Restless, Continued from last time:))

Those words were foreboding, coming from Traken. He was not the type to run.
“Stop moving so much,” I demanded in a whisper, flattening myself against the cool, moss-covered stones of the well’s ou...

Restless (A Curse of the Blood Fox Short) Part 7

Next part of the Curse of the Blood Fox short! Remember, this is part of the actual story. It takes place in between Book One (already published and available here) and Book Two. The daily writing is successful so far, but I need to get more done with the time I have. I think the problem I'm having is my tendency to daydream half the story in my head before I've even put a sentence down. Eek.

“I can’t breathe,” the diplomat gasped above the crackling flam...

Restless (A Curse of the Blood Fox Short) Part 6

The next part! I know there isn't exactly a hurry now that I don't have to get something out daily, but I have so many other goals for this month that I wanted to get this story done as soon as possible, so I spent today working my way through the rest of it entirely. I have a chance to edit now, though, so I'm still going to put the rest up in smaller pieces like this. I hope you enjoy Part 6!

My throat was tight, and I did not look at Traken. I stared...

Post-Challenge Haze and Thoughts

Success!
I made it through the entire month of the Write Anything challenge! Congratulations to my friends who were doing it along with me and also stuck to it! You guys did great, and it kept me on track too.
THOUGHTS ON THE CHALLENGE:
I didn't honestly think I would get through it. I really, really wanted to, but I was worried that old habits and fears were going to get in the way. I've tried challenges like this before, and when it comes to making something new and putting it out there...

Restless (A Curse of the Blood Fox Short) Part 5

Thank you so much for sticking with me this whole month guys! Today is the last day of the Write Anything challenge, Day 31! This has been a crazy adventure of pushing myself, and it's not quite done yet. I have a brand new challenge ready for myself for February, and maybe you'll want to join me too. I'll have some thoughts up tomorrow morning talking about this challenge and the new one, but I'm just so friggin thrilled I made it to the end of this one. I feel like I proved to myself that I...

Restless (A Curse of the Blood Fox Short) Part 4

Day 30 of the Write Anything challenge, and here is the next part of Restless!

(Restless, Continued from last time: ))

“Excuse me, sir,” the innkeeper called, hurrying over with his hands up. He cast a worried glance backwards at the lounging diplomat. “There’s no room left in here tonight. P-p-p-p-please, step outside. I’ll b-bring you something warm.”
Those vacant eyes stared around the room of empty tables, skimming the diplomat and her guards, the two Sweep and Keep players who had finally s...

Day 29, Just another ramble.

Day 29 of the Write Anything challenge! I'd like to feel proud, but ouch... things are hard today for some reason. Well, yesterday too, if I'm being honest. At first I thought maybe it was a senioritis thing (the challenge being almost at an end), but I don't think that's it. Sometimes our brains just get bogged down in anxiety, and it's a little hard to shake right now. Is it a coincidence that it falls at the end of the month when the rent and a chunk of bills are due? Hmmmm.

Anyway, I did a...

A Soul Makes A Deal With The Sky (A Poem)

Day 28 of the Write Anything challenge! Today was a bit of a day off for me, so it's going to be a poem for tonight.

A Soul Makes A Deal With The Sky
There is an emptiness that needs to escapethe hollow of my veins. My body moves to dance but the musicis never in tune with my ears.Beat in me, drums.Burn in me, fire.Show me wonders;prove I know nothing yet. There is joy in the rain, in the trees, that speaks only to meand it tells me what I need to become.Show me freedom,so I know its taste.Show me...
