Are bowls the perfect food right now?

The bowl can be anything to anyone, all that you need it to be, and more.

When you have a picky family, but can’t please everyone.

When you have a lot of ingredients, but nothing that seems to make a meal.

When you have plenty of leftovers, but just not enough of one thing to serve everyone…

Enter the bowl.

Prepare to be bowled over…

So, are bowls the perfect food?

Bowls have really gained popularity in the last few years, and some of them seem to be a little full of themselves

How To Walk More When The Weather Says You Can’t

How’s the weather where you are?

It’s hard to complain about the weather here in Southern California, but my gosh it’s been cold. California Cold, of course, but when we have ice, hail, and snow on the local mountains, it’s cold for us.

Add in weeks of rain, and you get grumpy Californians who never get outside to walk!

My steps have been down, but luckily I have a step counter to keep me honest with myself. Then, I just have to be creative…

The Kids Are At Home – A Very Special Podcast Episode

Special guests join us to support families with kids at home and the extra challenges presented during the coronavirus and COVID-19 quarantine.

So many of our listeners, family, and friends are quarantined, in lock-down, or encouraged to stay at home, often with kids.

While we all love our kids, many of us arent used to being with them 24/7, much less while being expected to work from home, and with lots of stress and nowhere to go.

We asked a few of our friends who are experts in health,...

Free resources to help you in difficult times

Hey, Galina here. If youre like us, living in a densely populated part of the world, you too, probably are feeling the stress of social distancing measures strongly. For some, its more manageable, and for others, its literally the most stressful time of their adult life. A time that they dont have the tools to deal with. So we have a little library of resources we have created and now made free to everyone who would like to deepen their self-care and preserve their mental health.

I am in an...

The downside to being human

I’m not an animal, I’m a human being

Is there really a downside to being human?

We humans are in control of our lives to a large degree.

We are conscious, and we make our own decisions! That’s really awesome.

Yes, we’ve grown be...

Make it stick

Are you looking for new and sustainable ways to improve your health and deepen your self-care? Then look no further than the power of a habit that you can grow, sustain and reap benefits from.

Habits, very much like plants in a garden, need tending, time, and many adjustments along the way. As you skillfully navigate, like plants, they grow and give you the benefits you desire.

If you’ve known us for a while, you’ve heard us say that there are no hacks to health. There are no shortcuts. But,...

Move better, move to heal

Hey, when’s the last time you thought of movement being as important as nutrition?

My mentor Katy Bowman believes that so strongly that she even renamed her own method from Restorative Exercise to Nutritious Movement, and rebranded a whole organization to reflect that powerful message – how we move, how often we move, how we distribute movement and what the variety of that movement is will, to a large degree, determine the mechanical health of our bodies and tissues, down to our cellular DNA....

What no one told you about movement and digestion

Just because digestion is all about the food doesn’t mean it’s all about the food

I first came to Restorative Exercise in 2010. I had a myriad of body pains that weren’t being helped by conventional medicine and therapy.

You might have read about my chronic and persistent back pain prior to starting these gentle and mindful alignment practices.

I also suffered from stomachaches and had a very sensitive gut. It didn’t take much before I would curl into a pretzel after a meal, and holiday meals...
