Trick Your Treats This Halloween!

You gotta love Halloween! The costumes, the decoration, the pumpkins. …and all that candy calling to you from bowls set out weeks before the 31st.

Halloween…

It’s all good until you realize too much candy has messed up your diet, your gut, your mood, and your energy …again.

Technically, there is nothing spooky about candy, but many Halloween seasons of coaching has taught us two things: first, if you don’t tolerate sugar well and you love candy, you may want to have a strategy around your con...

Ancient wisdom for your fall nutrition

Fall is upon us.

I woke up early to meet the sunrise today – and as I stepped out the contrast was clear – my bare feet on the grass were freezing – and my face was totally enjoying the warm caress of the sun’s first rays. That soft warmth only early spring and fall share.

As I got inside to put some wool socks on and warm my feet, I remembered my Chinese medicine doctor saying – “It’s fall my friend, start warming up your feet – you don’t want your chi to run away!”

The ancients knew about how ...

Gluten Free Rosemary Almond Cracker Recipe

These rosemary almond crackers have been a community favorite since we first introduced them, and continue to be one of our go-to recipes at home.

I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Cozy Breakfast Latte

Cool weather has us craving the type of coziness only this warm breakfast latte can satisfy

It’s been a beautiful fall, and most of our autumn leaves have fallen and been raked, gathered, and used as mulch under our bushes and trees.

Even though fall just started, here in Colorado, we’ve already had a few days of snow and some pretty cold temperatures. At least for this California boy.

What can I do with squash seeds?

Pumpkin seeds aren’t the only seeds you can roast. Did you know that you can make delicious, roasted seeds from almost any squash?

And yes, a pumpkin is just another squash.

We eat a lot of squash around here. Spaghetti squash and butternut, mostly, but all winter squash is fair game for us, including pumpkins.

And, they all have seeds!

I hate to waste pumpkin seeds, but also I just love them.

Calling them pumpkin seeds vs squash seeds

I’m going to call them pumpkin or squash seeds going forward...

Cooking In Place – My team up with Microsoft 365

It’s not every day you get a chance to give a cooking presentation to Microsoft.

No, it was not on on the Bill Gates level. Better, these are the people doing the real work!

I’m sure they told him about me, though.

When the quarantine started, Microsoft sent its people home to work, just like so many of us ‘normals.’

Also, like us normals, they went stir-crazy. They turned to nostalgic foods, ordered in, and basically threw up their hands.

I’m sure it’s no surprise to hear that they, like you, h...
