Where Is Mr. Lizard When We Need Him?
Where is Mr. Lizard these days? It seems like we could use him.

Who can forget when Mr. Lizard, having grown to freakish size after Ralph Snart fed him radiactive crickets and in the process of being flushed down a toilet awoke and turned out to have the ability to speak, shouted: “WHAT THE HECK’S GOING ON ‘ROUND HERE?” (Or something like that.) Or, when he once remarked: “Drink up, Ralph. Your sobriety annoys me.”
It seems like we could use him these days.

This Happened More Often Than I’ll Admit
This happened more often than I’ll admit. You know, trying to time something and accidentally just letting an enemy walk up and kill you in this game.
It ticked me off then, but it’s kind of soothing to watch now.

Never Thought Of It That Way Before
You know, I never thought of it that way before.
Mayhaps there was more going on with them plumbers than I thought. Now I’m picturing them sitting in some basement on the east side, hallucinating the whole thing. Kind of fits in with the whole “only a dream thing” from Super Mario Bros. 2.

Mario Dreams That He Is Ineffectual
I found myself pondering Super Mario Bros. 2 recently. The end reveals that it was all just Mario’s dream. None of it happened. However, I didn’t use Mario when I beat it. He wasn’t bad, but I usually preferred either the ability of the Princess to float without being lost uncontrolled like Luigi or Toad’s short, controlled jumps and strength. Luigi was too wild, and Mario was a good mix but either the Princess or Toad was better.
That means Mario was dreaming about the Princess and Toad saving a world without any help from him.
That’s a weird dream for him to have, not even being in it. Maybe Mario had some kind of complex.
