Final Blurb For Apocalypse All the Time! Peter Tieryas!

Final blurb for Apocalypse All the Time! This one is from Peter Tieryas (Author of United States of Japan, Bald New World, and Watering Heaven):

David S. Atkinson has written a wittily satirical look at our culture’s obsession with destruction, a provocative and humorous foray into the recesses of human nature that delights in the surreal vicissitudes of annihilation. The only regretful part about this apocalyptic ride is that it has to end. – Peter Tieryas, author of United States of Japan and Bald New World

An Animated Gif Of An Animated Alf!

How ridiculous is this? An animated gif of an already animated version of Alf!

This I don’t like as much. I watched the cartoon, but didn’t like it anywhere near as much as the original TV show…even though both were garbage. I don’t miss watching the cartoon at all.

This Show Was Awful So Why Do I Like This Animated GIF So Much?

Alf was a terrible show. I used to watch it all the time, but it was awful. So why do I like this animated gif so much?

I don’t know, but I do. I really do. Now I want to watch Alf again. What the heck is wrong with me?

Fourth Blurb For Apocalypse All the Time! Ben Tanzer!

Fourth blurb for Apocalypse All the Time! This one is from Ben Tanzer (Author of Orphans, The New York Stories, Lost in Space, You Can Make Him Like You, and more):

I cannot decide if [Apocalypse All the Time] is Groundhog’s Day for the seriously cracked or The Day After for the absurdist lit set. What I do know, is that while David S. Atkinson may very well be deranged, his work is funny and weird and wholly touching. I also know that we are all the better for having it in our lives. – Ben Tanzer, author of Be Cool and SEX AND DEATH

I Bet You Thought I Was Going To Say “Happy Easter!”

I bet you thought I was going to say “Happy Easter!” I’m sorry, but we don’t do that joke anymore.

Well, except I did say it in kind of a meta, self-referential kind of way. I guess I’m still doing the joke, but getting kind of sick of it.

The Results Of My Thought Processes

I was thinking about a prospective post, which led to me thinking about the phrase “I’m sorry, but we don’t do that joke anymore,” which led to me thinking about Groo the Wanderer, which led to me searching for this animated gif:

See how erratic my thought processes can be? I wasn’t even hungry, which usually makes things worse.

I Don’t Know What I Don’t Know About Gilmore Girls

I made a joke post about Gilmore Girls recently where I pretended to reveal my favorite episode and then said I didn’t have one not because I didn’t like the show but because I’d never seen it. Then I followed up by saying that I didn’t even know what the show was about. Now I have to admit that I don’t even know what I don’t know about Gilmore Girls. After all, if I don’t even know what the show was about, how could I have any idea what the true scope of my Gilmore Girls ignorance was? I’d have no idea.

Note, this post may entirely exist because Douglas Hackle mentioned his hope that there was at least a third installment in this series. How could I disappoint Douglas Hackle? Dude wrote Clown Tear Junkies. That rocked, and I’m sure his newest, The Hottest Gay Man Ever Killed in a Shark Attack, will too when I read that (which I will, and you should too). If he thought “there’s more to say about how [I] have nothing to say about the Gilmore Girls,” who was I to disagree?

I mean, come on.

Third Blurb For Apocalypse All the Time! Eirik Gumeny!

Third blurb for Apocalypse All the Time! This one is from Third Blurb For Apocalypse All the Time! Eirik Gumeny (Author of Exponential Apocalypse, Dead Presidents, High Voltage, Revenge-aroni, and more):

[Apocalypse All the Time] is a wandering journey to armageddon, again and again and again. There’s a decidely Kafkaesque bent to the story, and Marshall at times feels like a post-apocalyptic Hamlet. To be, or not to be – that IS the question: Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the floods and fires of a daily doomsday or to take arms against the Apocalypse Amelioration Agency and end them. Ay, there’s the rub. And one hell of a book. – Eirik Gumeny, author of the Exponential Apocalypse series.
