How does Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers help you make money?

Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services, and collect a commission for every successful referral.

Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers assumes you already have a blog with some content and traffic, and are looking to monetize it with affiliate marketing.

The course is mainly Carly sharing her own knowledge and experience. She doesn’t dive very deep on any particular topic, mostly giving a general overview of affiliate marketing and pointing you towards other free and paid resources to learn more.

In my opinion, the most valuable and in-depth part of the course is the section on email marketing, where she breaks down how she earned $5404 in commissions in only 8 days back in 2017. Carly mainly did this by sending out several emails to her list of ~2200 subscribers, promoting a particular product she was an affiliate for.

Having gone through Carly’s course, I’d say it’s mainly for people who have been blogging for a while already, but have very little knowledge or experience with affiliate marketing.

It’s best if your blog is already getting some decent traffic, as Carly doesn’t really cover traffic generation in the course.

Also, since a big chunk of the course is about affiliate marketing via email, ideally you’d also have started building an email list. Carly doesn’t cover how to grow your list, but does show how to monetize an existing list with affiliate offers.

Lastly, I’d say the course is best suited for people who are blogging about their passion. Carly herself is well known as a mommy blogger, and much of her audience seems to blog about family life, a hobby, or some other topic they are passionate about.

Carly describes Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers like so:

I felt that there was need for an intermediate course on affiliate marketing. This course focuses on CONVERSION STRATEGIES. (How to actually get people to BUY things from your links.) It also has a detailed module on how to use affiliate marketing in EMAIL.)

I’d advise against taking this course if you’re looking for an easy way to make money online, or comprehensive affiliate marketing training.

It’s hard to find anyone online saying a bad word about Carly Campbell or her affiliate marketing course.

Carly does seem very genuine and transparent. Starter Story has a good interview with her which reveals how she became a successful blogger.

In short:

Carly started her mom blog while pregnant in 2016She initially spent 60+ hours per week working on her blogWithin 9 months she was earning a full-time income as a bloggerEventually her blog was earning as much as $10,000 per monthPinterest has long been her main source of trafficDisplay ads have usually been her primary source of income.

(Btw, I’m pretty sure all the numbers Carly shares are in Canadian Dollars)

Carly reveals to her email subscribers that she was earning about $3000 per month from affiliate marketing through 2019 and 2020, and earning about 2-4x that each month from display ads.

Carly is perhaps best known for her ability to generate traffic from Pinterest, and indeed she has a few other training programs related to this.

There isn’t a lot of talk about Carly’s affiliate marketing course online. The few reviews you will find for it are generally positive but usually from affiliates of the course.

Having gone through the training myself, I find that it pales in comparison to many of the other affiliate marketing courses I’ve reviewed. It’s not an in-depth or comprehensive course by any means, and is probably best viewed as a general overview of affiliate marketing.

That said, it is one of the cheaper courses out there, and provides a decent amount of value for the price.

Are Carly Campbell’s students getting results?

I spent several hours researching Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers, looking for earnings screenshots and testimonials from students, and searching for other reviews online.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find any students reporting good results from following the training in recent years.

Nor did I find anyone criticizing it.

My takeaway: either the course isn’t very popular, or it isn’t very impactful.

How much does Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers cost?

You can buy Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers for a one-time fee of $79.

Be aware that Carly does recommend quite a few paid tools and training programs throughout the course, such as SEO books by Debbie Gartner, a list-building course from Jennifer Maker, and keyword tools like Jaaxy and SEMRush.

To be fair, Carly seems genuine in her recommendations – she regularly reminds students to only promote products they use and love – and you don’t necessarily need to buy anything she recommends.

But, if you want to emulate her success, you will need to spend quite a bit more than the $79 course fee, as there’s a lot to learn about affiliate marketing beyond what’s included in the training.

Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers Discount?

$79 for lifetime access seems to be the usual price for Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers.

I’ve seen reports that Carly sometimes offers a $15 discount for Black Friday. If you want to avail of that, the best thing would be to sign up to her email list and keep an eye out.

Also, you can buy Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers along with two other courses by Carly for $95 total. The other two courses in the bundle are:

That’s probably the way to go if you’d like to learn how Carly gets most of her traffic from Pinterest.

Refund Policy

I didn’t find any info about a refund policy on the Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers sales page or the Terms of Service linked from there, so it seems all sales are final

If you’re not happy with your purchase of Carly’s course, you could try emailing her and asking for a refund, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll get your money back.

How is Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers structured?

It’s a pretty simple course layout that looks like this after you sign up…

There are about 30 lessons overall, about 80% text and 20% video.

That said, if you are a fan of Carly’s blog and want to learn more from her specifically, then you’ll likely find the course worthwhile. And in that case you might want to buy her course bundle so you can also learn about her approach to Pinterest, which seems to be her main area of expertise.

How does Fat Stacks help you make money?

While one of the courses within the Fat Stacks Bundle is about affiliate marketing, the entire training is mainly focused on monetizing a niche website (or blog) with display ads.

Jon Dykstra is well known for consistently earning $50,000+ per month from display ads on his own websites, and sometimes over $100,000 per month.

How much money you make from display ads depends on a few factors, but generally the more people you can get to visit your site, the more you can earn.

As Jon says within the training:

Different sites earn different amounts of money per 1,000 visitors. It ranges from $1 to $30 per 1,000 visitors. $30 is quite high and few sites achieve that. $5 and under is fairly low. $10 to $15 is not uncommon.

Using that $10 to $15 range, if you have 5000 people per day visiting your website, you could expect to earn around $1500 to $2250 per month.

Jon also reports earning about $10,000 per month in affiliate commissions from his niche sites, so he’s no stranger to that monetization method.

One of the 11 courses within the Bundle is called Affiliate Marketing Fat Stacks Style, where he shares his tips for affiliate marketing.

As per the Bundle sales page, it is aimed at both beginners and experienced online marketers.

In Jon’s words:

If you can follow simple directions, aren’t the type of person to give up the first time you run into a little stumbling block, and possess a reasonable amount of patience… MY TRAINING IS FOR YOU.

And patience really is key here.

Jon elaborates within the first module of the training…

This is a long, long process. You must be patient. You will not make a lot of money inside 12 months. It will more likely take 24 to 36 months to see meaningful revenue and that’s with a lot of work. But once you get there, you have a solid revenue base that you can grow for years.

Why does it take so long?

Well, the whole idea is to start a new website and then get busy pumping out quality content on that site. Over time, search engines like Google should start ranking your site highly for your target keywords, which leads to more people visiting your website.

It’s a tried and trusted process, but it does take significant time and effort.

I really like that Jon sets these expectations up front.

If you’re not a fan of writing content yourself, Jon also has a course in the Bundle called Content Site Autopilot, which covers how to outsource content creation and more.

Based on my own deep experience with building and monetizing a blog, and having seen inside the Fat Stacks Bundle and researching it extensively, I consider it to be one of the better blogging courses available.

However, I wouldn’t recommend that you jump into building your own blog if you’re new to working online.

Yes, one of the best.

First off, I consider Jon Dykstra to be one of the most honest and helpful bloggers out there.

You’ll find lots of great info freely available on his Fat Stacks Blog and YouTube channel, including his monthly income reports which prove him to be the real deal.

Second, Jon has been featured on pretty much every respected blogging/SEO channel, including…

They all point to Jon as one of the best out there when it comes to growing a content site and monetizing it with display ads.

You can get a feel for Jon in this interview he did with Authority Hacker… 

Third, Jon doesn’t engage in any shady marketing tactics to sell his courses, and is very upfront about how much time and effort is required to emulate his success.

All that said, I do have a few issues with the Fat Stacks Bundle.

I’m happy to recommend the training overall, but it does often feel disjointed and hard to navigate. You’ll find that some lessons/sections have been updated recently, while others are a couple of years old.

Perhaps more importantly, given how crucial content creation is to Jon’s approach, I expected to see far more in-depth training on that topic within the Bundle.

Are Fat Stacks Bundle students getting results?

I spent several hours researching Fat Stacks Bundle, looking through posts in the private forum, and searching for other reviews online.

Given Jon’s reputation and the good things I’d heard about his training, I expected to find lots of student success stories and testimonials posted publicly.

But there’s actually very little of that.

However, I was reassured somewhat after finding a decent amount of posts in the Case Studies / Results section of the private forum…

So yeah, Jon’s students are definitely getting results.

But as noted, it does take quite a bit of time and effort to implement Jon’s methods and generate a good return on investment.

How much does the Fat Stacks Bundle cost?

There are two parts to the Fat Stacks Bundle pricing:

$499 for the first year$47 for every subsequent year to retain access

With that you get access to the 11 courses plus the private Fat Stacks community (2000+ members).

There are a few additional costs to be aware of after signing up:

Website domain + hosting – $100/year approx
Jon recommends Bluehost for this. Price may vary, but sometimes you can get up to 3 years of hosting from them for about $100.Ahrefs subscription – $97/month
This is the software Jon recommends for keyword research. It’s not strictly necessary, as he shows a few ways to do keyword research with free/cheap alternatives, but I’d recommend budgeting for at least 1 month of Ahrefs to get the most out of the Bundle.Astra Pro – $47/year or $249 lifetime
This is the WordPress theme that Jon recommends. Again, not strictly necessary – you can use a free WP theme instead – but best to use this so you can follow the training more closely.

Altogether, to sign up for and follow the training properly, I’d recommend you have a budget of about $850.

Even with that order laid out, I personally found the training to be fairly scattered and it was tough to find or refer back to specific topics.

This is understandable though, given that the Bundle is a collection of smaller courses bundled together.

The courses themselves are a mix of text and video lessons. I’d say it’s about 30% video lessons and 70% text.

As mentioned, you also get access to the private Fat Stacks community when you buy the Bundle. That is 2000+ members strong and quite active. You’ll usually see posts in ~20 different threads each day.

If you’re looking to monetize a website primarily with display ads, then this is probably the best course you can buy.

Jon Dykstra is the real deal, and within the Fat Stacks Bundle he shares pretty much everything he’s done to generate $50,000+ per month from his own niche sites.

Add to that a relatively low price, an excellent private community, and the 30-day money-back guarantee… and you can’t really go wrong with this training.

Just keep in mind that that Bundle is lacking on the topic of content creation, and you might find yourself struggling with the navigation every now and then.

But if you’re willing to put forth the time and effort, what Jon teaches is one of the more reliable ways to make money online.

How does Digital Worth Academy help you make money?

Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services, and collect a commission for every successful referral.

Digital Worth Academy (DWA) shows you how to build an “authority website” that ranks well in Google and thereby gets lots of traffic from search engines. You would then monetize that website with affiliate marketing.

DWA is big on the Amazon affiliate program in particular, showing you how to find and promote products on that platform. 

Diving deeper, Digital Worth Academy covers the following key topics in the training:

How to find a profitable nicheHow to select target keywords within that nicheHow to find affiliate products to promoteBuilding a WordPress websiteCreating SEO-optimized content (eg. articles)How to promote affiliate products on your siteOff-site SEO (eg. link building) to boost rankings and traffic.

So basically Digital Worth Academy shows you how to build a website, create good content for that website, get free traffic from search engines, and then monetize with affiliate offers.

It’s a tried and trusted model combining search engine optimization (SEO) with affiliate marketing, but it does take a while to pay off. 

The creators of Digital Worth Academy – Andrew Hansen and Sara Young – say that you’ll need to spend at least 10 hours per week building your business.

And in the following video, Andrew says that you should expect to work on your website for at least a year before earning $1000/month consistently…

Digital Worth Academy is aimed at people new to online business, but the training seems to be suitable for those with some experience as well.

The training is quite comprehensive and covers all the essential info related to building a successful authority website.

One of my favorite things about DWA is that they are very straightforward and realistic in marketing the training. They don’t promise quick results with little-to-no effort.

For example, they are quite clear on their sales page who the training is (and is not) for…

Based on my own deep experience with affiliate marketing, and having researched Digital Worth Academy extensively, I personally consider it one of the better affiliate marketing courses available.

However, I wouldn’t recommend starting an affiliate marketing business if you’re brand new to working online.

For the most part, yes.

Andrew and Sara don’t have much of a social media presence, but I’d been keeping an eye on them for a couple of years before writing this review, checking the emails they send to their list and how they market their training.

In preparing this review I also spent some time researching DWA and the founders to see if there was anything controversial about them.

In short: there isn’t anything major to worry about.

Digital Worth Academy seems like a solid training program created by two successful and trustworthy affiliate marketers.

That said, I’m not sure how much the training has been updated in recent years, and the DWA social media channels appear to have been neglected for several months now. 

Also, the training apparently focuses quite heavily on Amazon affiliate offers, which is becoming tougher to succeed with as Amazon continues to slash their commission rates

Are Digital Worth Academy users getting results?

I spent several hours researching Digital Worth Academy, looking through earnings screenshots and testimonials from students, and searching for other reviews online.

Unfortunately, pretty much every student success story I found is from 2019 or earlier.

Here is one of the best results I found, presented in a January 2020 video by Andrew…

There Andrew talks about a DWA student who had reached $1100 in monthly affiliate revenue with an 8-page website.

But again, that example is from early 2020.

All of the testimonials and results I’ve seen on the Digital Worth Academy sales page also seem to be from around that time or earlier.

So it’s unclear if DWA students are still achieving regular and significant results.

My guess is that they are doing just fine – the methodology taught within DWA is solid after all – and Andrew and Sara have probably neglected to update their sales page with fresh testimonials and success stories.

Or, to play devil’s advocate, the outdated sales page could be a sign that Digital Worth Academy is past its prime.

How much does Digital Worth Academy cost?

Full lifetime access to Digital Worth Academy costs $797.

That is a one-time payment. As of this writing, there is no payment plan option.

There are a few additional costs to be aware of after signing up, as noted on the DWA sales page:

You’ll have to invest $11 in a domain name, $5/mo for web hosting, and $37/mo (minimum 1 month) for a research tool we recommend. Outside of these, there are no other required expenses, even though we’ll show you some savvy investments you can make to accelerate your progress if you want to.

Adding it all up, your expenses would be at least $905 to access and implement the training for the first year, and minimal ongoing costs thereafter.

One of the primary selling points of Digital Worth Academy is that your purchase comes with lifetime access to 3 custom-built software tools:

Commission Wizard
This helps you find “high-selling, high-commission Amazon products” that you can promote as an affiliate. Video demo below.
Profit Calculator
Gives you an estimate of the monthly profit potential of keywords you’ve researched, based on data from Andrew and Sara’s own websites. Video demo below.
Diamond Keyword Miner
Parses a spreadsheet of keywords and tells you what the best opportunities are. You can see a video demo of this on the DWA sales page.

It’s unclear how useful these software tools are. The big limitation of the first is that it only searches for products on Amazon. And the latter still requires you to create a list of keywords via a keyword research tool.

I haven’t seen any students raving about these tools or pointing to them as one of the best things about Digital Worth Academy, so my guess is that they are a decent value-add but nothing revolutionary.

The DWA sales page does mention additional “savvy investments you can make to accelerate your progress if you want to.”

Those are likely to be:

Niche Opportunity Packs – $299
Each pack is essentially done-for-you keyword research, showing you a juicy opportunity in a niche researched by the DWA team.Pre-Built Affiliate Sites – $1599+
These are basic WordPress sites built out with some content and which DWA believe have decent monthly profit potential.Digital Worth Academy Discount?

The current price of $797 for lifetime access to Digital Worth Academy is the lowest I’ve seen.

Apparently it used to cost as much as $1997 or 3 payments of $797 (so $2391 total).

During my research, I didn’t find any legit discount or coupon code for Digital Worth Academy.

Refund Policy

The sales page for Digital Worth Academy specifies a 30-day money-back guarantee…

If you decide Digital Worth Academy isn’t for you within the first 30 days, we’ll refund 100% of your money. No penalties and no questions asked.

Per the checkout page, it sounds like the refunds are processed via ClickBank:

ClickBank will allow for the return or replacement of any product within 30 days from the date of purchase.

Given that, be sure to keep your email receipt after you sign up for DWA. If you ever want to request a refund, you’ll find instructions for doing so in there.

How is Digital Worth Academy structured?

You can get a feel for how the training is structured in the first few minutes of this video by an affiliate of DWA…

(Note that the above video is from 2018, so there may have been some changes to the interface in the meantime.)

The primary training is called the Digital Asset Blueprint. That’s broken up into 6 sections, more than 30 modules, and 150 videos.

You also get access to a private community where you can get help and connect with other DWA students.

One point of confusion is the group coaching calls. In other reviews, I’ve seen mention of these happening twice per month, but there’s no info about them on the DWA sales page so they may have been discontinued.

By all accounts Digital Worth Academy is one of the better affiliate marketing courses out there, and with the 30-day refund policy you can’t really go wrong with it. They teach a sound business model and seem to do a good job of it.

That said, I get the impression that the training has been somewhat neglected in recent years, which makes me hesitant to recommend it in place of a few other courses that are much more active and similarly priced.

Justin Mikolay writes that “10x creators aren’t just marginally better than average creators at one skill, they’re decisively better at three”

The three skills:

Shipping valuable products and contentBuilding systemsLeveraging the systems they build

It’s easy to stay focused on the first skill. There’s a comfort in that, once you achieve a higher than average skill level. You can stick to it and do pretty well.

But 10x creators go on to develop the latter two skills to a high level, and are thereby far more likely to make an outsized impact.

25-year-old TikTok Millionaire

That’d be Austin Hankwitz, and here’s his 90-second TikTok explaining how he became a full-time influencer – in the lucrative finance space – in only 12 months

He manages to squeeze in a promo for Intel in that short video. Bloomberg reports that Austin earns $4500 to $8000 per sponsored post, and he’s earning another $3500+ per month via Patreon. His annual earnings are reported to be in excess of $500,000, and apparently he’s built up a portfolio worth $1.3 million since March 2020.

Sounds like an overnight success, but Austin started building his following while still working a full-time remote job, and at one point went 3 months creating and posting content to TikTok every single day. Few people are willing to put in that kind of effort with no guaranteed reward.

As per that Bloomberg article, there are a number of “finluencers” out there like Austin, and I’d say the main thing they have in common is their ability to teach complex or boring topics in a simple and fun way.

Similar story with the 23-year-old dental hygienist I covered a few weeks back, earning $78k/month on YouTube

There are a lot of complex and boring topics in the world. Could you be the next Austin Hankwitz for one of them?

NFT Mania Explained

The YouTube channel Finematics is another good example of explaining complex topics in a simple way.

For example, check out their recent NFT Mania video.

  Mind-blowing quote from that:

it’s crazy to think that CryptoPunks, now worth around $350k for the cheapest one, were once claimable for free and users were able to mint them by paying a few dollars for an Ethereum transaction.

Check out the 11:30 mark of that video for a discussion of some challenges facing NFTs. (Where there are challenges, there are usually opportunities.)

Finematics also acts as a prime example of a successful faceless YouTube channel, proving that you can do well on that platform without putting yourself on camera.

LinkedIn’s $25M Creator Accelerator

LinkedIn announced that they will be “investing $25 million to help creators build their audience and amplify their voice.”

This 10-week, incubator-style program for up to 100 U.S.-based creators will give accepted participants coaching, a built-in creator network, opportunities to be featured on LinkedIn channels, and a $15,000 grant to help them share content, spark conversations, and build communities.

This reminds me of the “never miss twice” rule from James Clear’s Atomic Habits.

The idea is that, when building a good habit or breaking a bad one, inevitably you’ll drop the ball. You might miss a workout, or fail to hit your pitch target for the day, or whatever.

Missing once is okay, it happens. But make sure you don’t miss two times in a row. As James writes…

Wes Kimbell recently broke down how Daniella has grown it to $40 million in annual revenue.

Lots of growth hacks in there, but also a sobering reminder of the sacrifice required to achieve such outstanding success:

How does Wolves Academy help you make money?

Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services, and collect a commission for every successful referral.

The basic version of Wolves Academy is called Wolves Profits, and this mainly shows you how to promote Wolves Academy to other people.

Once you sign up, you can become an affiliate for the program and they give you a funnel designed to convert other people into paying members of Wolves Academy.

You drive traffic into that funnel with paid advertising (solo ads). Here’s the landing page they provide for you…

There are several upsells within Wolves Academy, so in theory you can earn quite a bit of money from each referral.

But when I checked the product on the ClickBank marketplace, it showed an average conversion value of n/a, which seems to indicate that it’s not selling at all

So the basic version of Wolves Academy shows you how to become a commission-based salesperson for Wolves Academy. The more new students you refer to the program, the more money you make.

Also included in the basic version is the Consulting Masterclass, which aims to show you how to build a consulting business and land clients who pay you $500 to $2000.

But if you want deeper affiliate marketing training from Wolves Academy – ie. where they show you how to find and promote many different products in many different ways – then you’ll need to buy their upsell offers.

Wolves Academy is definitely aimed at people new to online business.

Here’s the type of wording used in their sales video…

Eric also says in the sales video that the training will show you how to set up “your very own Copy-Paste-Profit SYSTEM… in as little as 10 minutes!”

However, based on my own extensive experience with affiliate marketing, and having skimmed through the Wolves Academy training and researching it extensively, I personally DO NOT consider this program to be a reliable way to make money online.

The training might have been okay at one point, but it appeared to be abandoned when I signed up for it.

Wolves Academy has been around since 2018 and you’ll find some decent student testimonials for it early on.

But since 2019 there is little info about the program outside of Eric Ellis’ own websites and social media channels.

Eric himself seems to have earned quite a bit of money online over the years, both from his own affiliate marketing efforts and from selling his courses.

In the following video he reports that his business earned about $300,000 in the last three months of 2020…

But he goes on to say that his business scaled too fast, he started partying too much, and a few months later he had “lost everything.”

At about the 4:20 mark of the above video he says…

A lot of people weren’t really getting results with the product that I was selling, and it wasn’t because the product wasn’t good. The product was really good. However, I was selling a product teaching people advertising, and people really didn’t have a marketing budget.

It sounds like he then shut down his course for a while, which may account for the lack of recent student success stories (more on this in a bit).

I personally find Eric’s marketing to be very flashy-lifestyle and party-centric.

His Instagram account is a perfect example of this, featuring photos and videos of Eric partying it up and hanging out on boats and beaches with scantily-clad women…

I’m not a fan of such lifestyle marketing, but it doesn’t bother me much so long as the training being promoted is actually solid.

However, having signed up for Wolves Academy and gone through it, I found it really didn’t measure up to the marketing hype.

The sales video for Wolves Academy makes affiliate marketing out to be “the #1 EASIEST way for anyone to start making money online,” says it will take you as little as 10 minutes to set up their “completely turn-key plug-and-play system” and that you can start earning commissions right away.

They also claim that “only a hand select few people know about this” and that they will soon triple the price. Once you sign up, you’re offered 3 consecutive upsells with fake 15-minute countdown timers.

And then once you actually get to the training, you find that your $47/month gets you very little training. In fact, the biggest training section is about building a consulting business rather than an affiliate marketing business.

The only affiliate marketing training in there consists of 7 short videos that show you how to promote Wolves Academy to other people using paid traffic.

After paying your $47/month, Eric tells you in the first upsell video:

Let’s be honest here, paying a small little monthly payment you’re not going to get access to a full blown course, that would just be bananas.

Also, when I signed up, there were no weekly live calls for the several prior months, and there were only 8 posts in the previous month in the private student Facebook group.

In fact, the training looked like it had been abandoned for quite a while

I never received a response to my support requests – despite waiting far longer than the promised “within 24 hours” response time – and my request to join the Facebook group was left forever pending.

I guess that wouldn’t bother me so much if somehow lots of students were still getting good results after signing up. But that’s not really the case…

Are Wolves Academy users getting results?

I spent several hours researching Wolves Academy, looking through earnings screenshots and testimonials from students, and searching for other reviews online.

There are a handful of decent student success stories back in 2019, but pretty much nothing significant since then.

Eric does have a reviews page on his site, but the dozen or so video testimonials there are all from 2019.

Furthermore, there were only 216 members in the private Facebook group when I joined, and only 8 posts in the previous month…

That really doesn’t sound like a group of thriving affiliate marketers, does it?

Given all that, I have little confidence that Wolves Academy will help you build a successful online business.

How much does Wolves Academy cost?

The gateway into Wolves Academy is their $47/month membership for Wolves Profits.

That gets you very basic training on how to promote Wolves Academy to other people, plus the Consulting Masterclass training.

Right after you sign up, you’ll be hit with 3 consecutive upsells:

$397 for lifetime access + Wolves Masterclass
This replaces your monthly payment and gives you access to upgraded affiliate marketing training.$197 for access to the Case Study Vault
Eric refers to this as being “like the missing piece of the puzzle that will give you an unfair advantage.”$97 for access to a future Wolves Mastermind live event
Eric says the dates haven’t been decided for this yet but they’ll likely be coming to a city near you.

To actually implement the Wolves Academy training, you’ll also have to spend money on a few other things. Such as:

ClickFunnels – at least $97/monthA domain – $10/yearSolo ads traffic from Udimi – $40/month for 100 visitors

They don’t teach you anything about email marketing in the $47/month training, but presumably they do in Wolves Masterclass, so you’d likely need to spend another $20/month on software to follow that training.

I believe Wolves Masterclass also covers several ways to generate free traffic.

But assuming you sign up for the $47/month version of the training and drive traffic with solo ads, your minimum expenses for one year of Wolves Academy would be:

$444 for the training ($47 + $397 for lifetime access)$480 for traffic (assuming 100 visitors per month)$1164 for ClickFunnels$10 for a domain

Total expenses for one year = at least $2,098

That’s the best-case scenario, without going for any of the upsells, and spending pretty much the bare minimum on traffic.

Wolves Academy Discount?

The $47/month to access Wolves Academy is advertised as the discounted price, down from a one-time fee of $997 in the past.

Each upsell is also presented as being a discounted price.

But aside from that I haven’t seen any legit discount or coupon code for Wolves Academy.

Refund Policy

The checkout page for Wolves Academy specifies a 60-day money-back guarantee…

My refund policy is clear and to the point. If you take the course, and are unsatisfied for any reason I will refund your money 100% “no questions asked”

Also, from their Terms of Service page:

If you Need to cancel, email our support team at support@wolvesacademy.com and we will take care of your support ticket within the next 24 hours the latest.

However, I have seen some other sales pages on wolvesacademy.com that specify “no refunds” on the Wolves Masterclass and Wolves Mastermind products.

After signing up for Wolves Academy myself, finding the training to be highly disappointing and seemingly abandoned, I requested that my monthly payments be canceled and my initial $47 payment refunded. But I did not get a reply within 24 hours… or ever.

In the end, I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company

So for all intents and purposes, there really isn’t a valid refund policy for Wolves Academy.

How is the program structured?

Here’s what the training looked like after I signed up to Wolves Academy for $47/month…

The Clickbank Quickstart Guide consists of 7 short videos.

The Consulting Masterclass has much more content, but it is somewhat scattered and more than 10 of them are simply public YouTube videos that have been embedded.

Last I checked, there were 7 archived recordings in the Weekly Coaching Calls section, but none for the previous 3+ months.

You are also supposed to get access to a private Facebook group when you join Wolves Academy, but my request to join the group was left forever pending.

Green Lights  

This is where I’d usually list a few of the positive things about Wolves Academy, but given how the program is quite disappointing and seems to have been abandoned, there really isn’t anything to say here.

Red Flags  

Several things about Wolves Academy that should give you pause:

Course seems completely abandoned.No response to refund/cancellation request.Lack of significant student success stories in recent years.The basic affiliate marketing training is too MLM-y for my liking.Lots of upsells.Full cost of implementing the training undisclosed when joining.Lots of questionable marketing tactics (eg. fake scarcity).Small and inactive private community.Other things you should knowEric Ellis often refers to himself as “The Wolf of Marketing.” This seems to be derived from the popular book and movie, The Wolf of Wall Street. I’m not sure how Eric got this name, but I suspect it’s something he came up with himself.Should you join Wolves Academy?

I cannot in good conscience recommend Wolves Academy as a reliable way to make money online.

It may once have been a decent program, but nowadays it seems to be abandoned and I couldn’t find any recent student success stories.

Add to that the questionable marketing tactics used to sell the program, and I can only advise that people steer far clear of Wolves Academy. 

As far as affiliate marketing programs go, this has to go near the bottom of my list.

I’ve been getting more into audiobooks myself lately. A couple of tips for those…

Reilly Chase recently shared that his SaaS business had reached $1 million in revenue 3.5 years after he started it.

The SaaS is HostiFi, which lets you remotely monitor and manage a particular brand of networking equipment.

Per an August 2019 interview, Reilly learned to code and built the business to $100,000 ARR in little over a year

He credits a book called The Millionaire Fastlane with inspiring him to start HostiFi. That’s one of the top 3 books on my list for online entrepreneurs, and you can listen to it for free with that aforementioned 30-day Audible trial, or check out this 14-minute summary on YouTube.

$1103 in a day with display ads

Lim How Wei reports on Twitter that his website – followchain.org – recently earned $1103 from display ads in a single day, up from $9 earned on the same day last year.

Here’s a thread breaking down Lim’s journey to earning $20,000/month consistently

He started focusing on SEO in June 2020 and it took about 7 months for his traffic to pick up. The key seems to have been Lim pumping out an article a day from about the 6-month mark.

According to Ahrefs, these are the pages on Lim’s site getting the most traffic from search engines…

Find People on OnlyFansFix Temporarily Locked Facebook Account

Nothing crazy there, just clear and concise content.

I like what Lim is doing on YouTube as well, turning his written content into simple faceless videos. This one about TikTok is his most-watched with 180k views in 6 months

If you have (or are willing to learn) some basic video editing skills, you could do that for other bloggers as a freelance service.

Ranktracker Lifetime Deal

Perhaps the most surprising thing about Lim’s success is that he doesn’t use any premium SEO tools, apparently doing his keyword research via Google’s Keyword Planner and autocomplete queries.

Personally, I’m still partial to a good SEO tool, so I have a better sense of what keywords are likely to hit

Some premium SEO tools like Ahrefs and SEMRush are quite pricey, but Ranktracker is a well-reviewed alternative currently up for grabs with this $49 lifetime deal.

Is Affiliate Marketing Dead?

Lately I’ve been reviewing a bunch of affiliate marketing courses that focus on paid ads to drive traffic, like this course from Anik Singal.

It’s a struggle to find recent student success stories for such courses. And this article from Charles Ngo helps explain why.

In the past, Charles has apparently earned $1 million in annual profit doing affiliate marketing with paid ads, but now he says:

Affiliate marketing isn’t dead yet, but it’s past its glory days. For the vast majority of people, it’s not worth entering the affiliate marketing industry in 2021.

He goes on to clarify that he’s referring specifically to affiliate marketing with paid ads, as opposed to affiliate marketing with organic traffic (eg. SEO).

No coincidence that the top 4 affiliate marketing courses on my list all focus on organic traffic

But before going down the rabbit hole with those, be sure to check out my affiliate marketing primer so you have the right expectations for that business model.

$17,874 Podcast Sponsorship NFT

My First Million are experimenting with selling 5 minutes of airtime on their podcast as an NFT.

Shaan Puri shared some details on Twitter.

I checked right before sending out this email and the bid is up to $17,874 worth of ETH 

By my rough calculations, they could probably sell a 5-minute ad spot straight up for $10k to $15k currently.

But the NFT aspect creates buzz, allows the buyer to lock in the ad price, and makes it a tradable asset.

In his newsletter a few days ago, the aforementioned Shaan Puri wrote the following in regards to his NFT experiment:

in any field you can play one of 4 roles:

1 – sketpic (on sidelines, judging everyone)
2 – cheerleader (on sidelines, cheering other people doing things)
3 – participant (in the game, using stuff other people created)
4 – player (in the game, creating things yourself)

Learn Solidity (the Fun Way)

And because the world of crypto is still so new, you can become something of a Solidity expert quite fast

Nat Eliason writes:

6 months of Javascript experience is nothing. 6 months of Solidity is probably a six-figure job.

Or a nice hourly freelance rate, as you can see on Upwork.

Nat goes on to share a bunch of resources he found helpful for learning Solidity, which he used to build Crypto Raiders.

Last I heard, that project had a TVL of $5.5 million

Fake it ’till you build it

Some nice examples on Indie Hackers of people who found creative ways to gauge demand for a product before fully building it.

The classic example is using paid ads to drive traffic to an email capture, with an instruction like: “To start your order simply fill in your email below.”

You then measure how many visitors sign up, and tell those who do that you will be in touch once you’re ready to accept new orders

To take this a step further, you can see how many people are willing to pay upfront for the product, offering a discounted price for preorders. If you don’t end up building the thing, you can simply refund everyone.

Anik Singal’s Inbox Blueprint Review

This is a review of Inbox Blueprint, an affiliate marketing program offered by Anik Singal. You may have heard it called Email Startup Incubator in the past (they’ve since rebranded).

Inbox Blueprint (IB) basically provides training and software to help you promote other people’s products using paid ads. You would make money online by earning a commission for every successful referral.

How does Inbox Blueprint help you make money?

Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services, and collect a commission for every successful referral.

Inbox Blueprint shows you how to do this with paid ads – they mostly recommend that you use Facebook ads to get people on an email list – and provides software to help you promote your chosen products. 

Here’s the 5-step process Anik Singal teaches…

Breaking that down:

Use paid ads to generate traffic.Send that traffic to a 1 Page Website, offering a free gift (usually a PDF) in exchange for an email address.Autoresponder sends out a series of emails to your list, pitching them various products.After someone joins your list, redirect them to a Thank You Page (TYP) and pitch them a product there.Send regular broadcast emails to your list pitching them more products.

Following this system, Anik says you should be able to earn at least $0.50 per email subscriber per month.

So, in theory, 1000 subscribers = $500/month.

The training also shows you how to find products to pitch. The built-in LaunchPad software gives you many to choose from, most of which seem to be pulled from affiliate marketplaces like ClickBank.

Inbox Blueprint claims to do “almost 95% of the work for you” in implementing their system. They provide hundreds of landing page templates and thousands of content pieces for PDFs and emails.

During the free webinar for Inbox Blueprint – accessible when you sign up for a free account at Lurn.com – Anik Singal makes it sound like his training is for everybody…

However, Anik goes on to say that you do need to invest some time and money to make his system work.

He does not specify how much money you’ll need exactly – I’ll tell you below – but does say you can make over $400 within 24 hours of taking the training, and estimates you’ll need to spend about 1 hour a day for 2 months to make the system work.

Given my own extensive experience with affiliate marketing, and having investigated Inbox Blueprint for several hours, I would say that all the above claims are extremely overblown.

While it seems anyone can go through the training and set up the system, it doesn’t seem to be an effective way of making money online.

Anik Singal himself is somewhat controversial. 

Google terms like Anik Singal scam and you’ll find quite a few people complaining about his questionable marketing tactics.

You’ll see several examples of these marketing tactics within the Inbox Blueprint sales materials.

For example, Anik says the system can help you make $400 within 24 hours, but later claims it’s not a “get rich quick” scheme. 

He also employs fake scarcity on the webinar, saying that “a small percentage of people will have a chance to qualify” for the program, even though it’s open to everyone all the time.

But the most glaring issue I have with Inbox Blueprint is that there seems to be no consideration given to the quality of products they teach students to promote, or how they promote them.

At the 4:50 mark there, you can see the types of products that he is given the option to promote. Products with names like…

Ejaculation GuruPenis Enlargement BibleWeight Loss Gods WayErotic Weight Loss System10-Minute Fat LossFat Loss 4 Idiots

As far as I can tell, IB students are NOT advised to critically evaluate these products to determine if they are legit and helpful. Instead, they are encouraged to pick one that they believe will sell well, and then promote it heavily with templated PDFs and emails.

This makes a mockery of the following claim on the Inbox Blueprint homepage:

Build Huge Email Lists Of Loyal Followers Who Want To Engage With You

It’s hard to believe anyone can build a “loyal” following while promoting highly questionable products using templated content

All that said, Anik appears to be an effective salesman and successful entrepreneur. He claims to have done more than $300 million in online sales, and he’s built up quite a large following over the years…

Given all that, Anik is clearly doing a lot of things right, and so there’s plenty to learn from him.

But I’ve come to think of him a bit like Tai Lopez:

approximately 33% of what Tai has to say is incredibly useful, insightful, and perhaps even life-changing.

And the rest is either pointless rambling, Tai reminding you how successful he is, or claims that can’t be taken at face value.

So you can probably learn quite a bit from Anik Singal’s training, but you’ll have to spend some time separating the signal from the noise.

Are Inbox Blueprint users getting results?

I spent several hours researching Inbox Blueprint and checking scores of reviews online.

It seems the program has been around since at least 2014, and there are a handful of decent student success stories up until about 2017.

However, I haven’t been able to find ANY student success stories in recent years.

This is surprising given that more than 25,000 people have reportedly signed up for Inbox Blueprint.

The sales webinar I watched for IB seems to have been recorded in 2020, but even there Anik only shows earnings screenshots from 2018 at the latest.

My best guess is that the Inbox Blueprint methodology probably worked okay in the mid 2010’s, but is now outdated and ineffective.

Part of the reason for that may be that the CPC of Facebook ads rose from $0.27 in 2016 to $0.39 in 2020 – that’s almost a 50% increase – and Facebook ads is the primary recommendation in IB for driving traffic.

Charles Ngo, who has regularly earned $1 million in profit each year from affiliate marketing with paid ads, wrote in March 2021:

Affiliate marketing isn’t dead yet, but it’s past its glory days. For the vast majority of people, it’s not worth entering the affiliate marketing industry in 2021.

(Note that Charles is specifically referring to affiliate marketing with paid ads, as opposed to affiliate marketing with organic traffic.)

Here’s an Inbox Blueprint student giving the program a good review on YouTube back in 2019. However, more recent comments made by that same student below her video are telling…

Back then I’d say I learned the basics of email from that course but today there are better avenues to really hone that skill plus learn marketing for about the same cost.

I don’t recommend this product at all. There are far more sophisticated courses out there that teach affiliate/email marketing.

I don’t recommend IB anymore, I recommend Legendary.

(Legendary presumably refers to Legendary Marketer, reviewed here.)

Given all the above, I’m extremely skeptical that anyone who signs up to Inbox Blueprint today can earn a decent income by following the training.

How much does Inbox Blueprint cost?

For access to the IB training, there are two options:

$997 one-time3 monthly payments of $397

The latter adds up to a total price of $1,191.

You get lifetime access with either option.

Anik does mention in the IB sales webinar that you will need to spend some money on ads to drive traffic, and recommends starting out spending $10 to $40 per day on Facebook ads.

That adds up to $300 to $1200 per month in ad spend.

You will also need to buy mailing list software to follow the training.

It seems you can use any mailing list software for this – eg. Mailchimp or Aweber – but the LaunchPad platform only integrates fully with Sendlane.

Sendlane offers a 2-week free trial for up to 100 subscribers. After that it’s $79/month for up to 5000 subscribers, billed at $990 per year.

(Btw, Anik is one of the owners of Sendlane.)

Say you do the minimum recommended ad spend each day. Your minimum expenses for one year of Inbox Blueprint would be:

$997 for IB itself$990+ for Sendlane$3,650 for Facebook ads

Total expenses for one year = at least $5,637.

That’s a steep price to implement a training I couldn’t find any recent success stories for

On the plus side, there don’t seem to be any upsells offered within Inbox Blueprint, and of course you could test out the system with about $100 in Facebook ads and the 14-day free trial of Sendlane, and only invest more if you see a decent ROI early on.

Inbox Blueprint Discount?

During the IB sales webinar, Anik says the regular price of Inbox Blueprint is $1497 but you can get a $500 discount and pay only $997 if you take action fast (“It’s going to expire very soon!”).

It seems Inbox Blueprint did cost $1497 in the past, but it has been fixed at the $997 price for at least a year as of this writing.

There is space for a “coupon promo code” at checkout for Inbox Blueprint. I have not been able to find a legit discount code that works there.

Refund Policy

Inbox Blueprint is available through Lurn.com, and unfortunately Lurn has a no refund policy:

All Lurn courses have a no refund policy. Due to the digital format of Lurn products, the customer receives an immediate benefit from the product prior to the return such as access to all course content, live coaching calls, community, and other online resources.

Somewhat confusingly, they go on to say:

For any purchase that is over $25, we have a 3-day cancellation policy. Please email support@lurn.com within 3 days of your purchase to get your payment cancelled.

I assume this refers to products purchased with a payment plan. It sounds like they won’t refund you any initial payments, but you can cancel future payments by emailing them.

Lastly, I did see a few complaints about Lurn posted over at BBB.org, which were resolved by Lurn eventually issuing a refund to the customer.

So if you’re unhappy with your purchase of Inbox Blueprint and really need a refund, that might be a way to get it.

How is the program structured?

There are two main parts to Inbox Blueprint:

The training itselfThe LaunchPad platform

The first part basically teaches you the methodology and shows you how to implement it.

It looks like this…

Launch Pad is the software you use to create PDFs, landing pages, email sequences, etc.

Overall there is reported to be 806 hours of video training within Inbox Blueprint. A lot of that appears to be recordings of live help sessions for students.

The daily coaching included with the training sounds great…

This program comes with direct access to a Lurn coach, every single day (Monday – Friday). Get on live and have a coach review your business and answer your questions. There are no limits – get all of the help needed to succeed.

But given the aforementioned lack of student success stories, I’m skeptical that such coaching is actually valuable.

Lastly, you also get access to the private Lurn Nation community when you join Inbox Blueprint.

Green Lights  

Here are a few things to like about Inbox Blueprint:

A few things about Inbox Blueprint that might give you pause:

Lack of significant success stories from students.No refunds.No consideration given to quality of products promoted.Methodology appears outdated and ineffective.Full cost of implementing the training undisclosed when joining.Questionable marketing tactics (eg. fake scarcity).Other things you should knowInbox Blueprint does offer some training on free ways to drive traffic to your landing pages, but it seems to be fairly basic stuff and Anik highly recommends using paid ads instead.Should you join Inbox Blueprint?

If you are an established expert on a certain topic, the tools provided within Inbox Blueprint may be of use to you. It makes the tech part of email marketing simple, but you’d need to create the content yourself rather than using the low-quality templates provided.

You’d also need to carefully research and vet products to promote as an affiliate, to ensure your recommendations are legit and helpful to your subscribers.

But you can do all of that fairly easy and cheap without Inbox Blueprint, too, so I’m not sure why you’d sign up for this program unless you’re a big fan of Anik Singal and are eager to use his training and software specifically.

Anik says in the sales materials for Inbox Blueprint:

Yes, There Are Scammers Online.

But those guys exist in every industry (not just online) and are usually fairly simple to spot. They make sensational promises, have no proof that what they teach works, and they have no real company (with an address, support team, etc.).

Anik does have a real company, but from what I’ve seen while researching his course, he makes many sensational promises – eg. “how to make your first $1000+ in 2 weeks or less using other people’s products!” – and I’ve seen no proof in recent years that his Inbox Blueprint training still works.

Given all that, I can’t in good conscience recommend that you dive into this one.

How does Partner With Anthony help you make money?

Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services, and collect a commission for every successful referral.

Partner With Anthony is a somewhat unusual affiliate marketing program in that you’re mainly taught how to promote Anthony Morrison’s products, and particularly PWA itself.

Once you sign up, you can become an affiliate for Anthony’s products, all of which are related to internet marketing. You also get extensive training on how to promote those products, plus some funnels and templates you can use for those promotions.

Anthony recommends that you start promoting his products using solo ads, which are ads you buy in big mailing lists. Those ads generate leads (ie. prospective customers) who go through Anthony’s marketing funnel. If any of them end up buying PWA, you earn a commission.

You can earn further commissions if the people you refer to PWA buy other tools and training that Anthony recommends to them.

So essentially Partner With Anthony teaches you how to become a commission-based salesperson for Partner With Anthony. The more new customers you refer to PWA, the more money you make.

Below is a video from Anthony Morrison’s YouTube channel so you can get a feel for his style. He also gives an overview of his affiliate marketing philosophy and at the end pitches his PWA program.

It says on the PWA page that the program is only for two types of people:

1.) Internet Marketers who are looking to take their businesses to the next level and create more income.

2.) “Newbies” who are looking to start their first online business the right way the first time and are determined to have success by investing in themselves.

Given my own extensive experience with affiliate marketing, and having skimmed through the PWA program and seeing tons of comments from students, I would say that PWA is mainly for newbies.

There are many upsells within the program – more on this later – and the training is mostly about how to promote PWA itself, but you can learn a lot of internet marketing basics just by paying the $7/month entry fee and watching all the training videos.

Anthony Morrison himself is somewhat controversial. 

Google terms like Anthony Morrison scam and you’ll find quite a few people complaining about his questionable marketing tactics. 

You’ll see several examples of these marketing tactics on the PWA sales page, such as the “live” video which isn’t live, and Anthony encouraging people to make a quick decision before the offer is gone, etc.

Anthony claims to have made millions of dollars online via internet marketing, and I don’t doubt that he has. He seems to have done very well from affiliate marketing in particular.

Evidently, Anthony is a very effective salesman, and he’s built up a large following online…

Given all that, Anthony is clearly doing a lot of things right, and so there’s plenty to learn from him.

However, while researching Partner With Anthony, I couldn’t help but think how similar it is to a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scheme. 

You basically buy the program and then immediately try to convince other people to buy the same program, and then those people are asked to recruit even more people to the same program.

Personally, I’m not a fan of this model, but PWA isn’t as bad in this respect as some other courses I’ve reviewed, such as 7 Figure Franchise and Six Figure Mentors.

I say that because the training in PWA is quite good value for money – assuming you don’t spend a small fortune on the upsells – and you can apply what you learn in there as an affiliate for other products and services, not just those offered by Anthony Morrison.

Are PWA users getting results?

I spent several hours researching Partner With Anthony, going through the private community, and searching for reviews online.

I saw lots of students praising PWA during that time, but I found only 3 examples of students who actually seem to be earning a decent income – ie. $500+ per month – from the program.

Far more often the “success” stories look like this…

Those earnings look decent, especially considering that this PWA student had started only 5 weeks prior.

But when asked in the comments how much it cost him to generate those sales, things don’t sound so good…

So that student spent more on ads than they earned in commissions. And don’t forget that they also spent more money on the PWA training, the recommended tools, and perhaps some of the upsells.

Of course, some of that student’s revenue is recurring, and over time they may actually be able to turn a nice profit.

But, as mentioned, I’ve only seen 3 PWA students who seem to be earning a good profit each month. 

Given the popularity of the Partner With Anthony program – 100’s if not 1000’s of students have signed up over the years – I would have expected to see many more.

And that has me skeptical that anyone who signs up to Partner With Anthony today can earn a decent income directly from it

How much does Partner With Anthony cost?

For access to the PWA training, there are two options:

$7 per month$97 for lifetime access

This is the only expense mentioned by Anthony on the PWA sales page, but there’s a lot more you can spend money on once you’re inside the program.

To follow the training properly, you will need to sign up for the following:

BuildRedirects – at least $20/monthClickFunnels – at least $97/monthAutoresponder – at least $19/monthCustom domain – $17/year

Then, to make the whole system work, you will need to send traffic to your funnel. 

While you can try to generate free traffic from social media or SEO, Anthony recommends that you start with solo ads. You can buy solo ad traffic via his “Fast Traffic Source”, which will cost you $0.73 to $0.85 per click…

Say you buy 100 premium clicks each month. Your minimum expenses for one year of PWA would be:

$84 for PWA membership$1000+ for ClickFunnels$200+ for BuildRedirects$200+ for an autoresponder$17 for a custom domain$1000+ for traffic

Total expenses for one year = at least $2,501

And then there are the upsells within PWA, including:

Anthony has dozens of other products for sales besides the above, and he offers them frequently to his students.

So if you’re not careful, you can end up spending far more than $7/month.

Partner With Anthony Discount?

On the PWA sales page, Anthony calls the $7/month pricing a “founders discount,” down from the $197/month he plans to eventually charge for the program.

However, best I can tell, Partner With Anthony has been available for $7/month since early 2019.

That’s as low as the price gets.

Refund Policy

The Partner With Anthony sales page specifies a 30-day 100% money-back guarantee…

If for any reason you want a refund in your first 30 days simply send us a direct email (and yes we provide our email address to you once you’re on the inside) and I’ll personally guarantee a fast and full refund to you in under 24 hours.

Per my research, Anthony does seem to honor that refund policy, but be advised that it only applies to the PWA membership fee of $7/month or $97/lifetime.

As you can see on this page, some of the additional costs and upsells within PWA have different refund policies. For example:

Ambassador Program – This product has a 3 day right to cancel. All sales are final afterwards. All sales are final. If you are on an annual payment plan you may cancel at the end of the current year without commitment for any subsequent years.

Fast Traffic Source – This product has a 3 day right to cancel. All sales are final afterwards.

Each product also has it’s own support email address provided to you upon purchasing. This is provided both in the members area and on your order notification email receipt. You will need to contact that specific email address within the given time frame (list above) to request a refund on your purchase.

How is the program structured?

Here’s how the Partner With Anthony program looks once you’re logged in…

There are 30 sessions overall. You get access to the first session immediately after signing up. But then you have to mark each session complete and wait 24 hours before you get access to the next session.

That means it will take you at least 30 days to watch all the training videos.

The training is better and more comprehensive than I expected, and well worth the $7/month price of entry if you want to learn the basics of internet marketing.

Anthony has packed the program with lots of solid training. And while it is mostly geared towards helping you promote PWA itself, much of what you learn can be applied to promoting other products and services as an affiliate.

Over the years, Andrew Warner has interviewed 2000+ entrepreneurs, including big names like Seth Godin, Tim Ferriss, Brian Chesky and Matt Mullenweg

Here he gives 7 tips for landing guests.

My favorite is #6:

Follow up more than anyone else. People say ‘No’ to new interviewers because they don’t believe you’ll stick around. Prove them wrong by keeping yourself in their view. If you hear ‘No,’ set a reminder to follow up in two months.

You can also apply that to landing clients, customers, investors, a remote job, etc.

You can be persistent without being pushy. And persistent people usually get what they want.

The harsh reality of creator economics

Simon Owens writes about “the gritty reality for Substack’s middle class.”

(Substack is a newsletter platform that makes it easy to charge for premium content.)

While the 2010s birthed a generation of social media megastars, the 2020s will see the emergence of a creator middle class. I do think it’s very much possible for the average person to join this middle class, but it’s important that everyone understands the punishing economics at play.

That article is well worth a read if you’re considering pursuing a career as a creator. Whether it be on Substack, YouTube, TikTok or elsewhere, remember that going from zero to hero is rare, even with oodles of time and talent.

To even become part of the creator “middle class” takes a ton of work and sacrifice, as Simon attests to in another article:

in a given month, the time I spend on the newsletter and podcast results in up to a $6,000 loss in freelance revenue.

Over at Indie Hackers, Darko smells opportunity:

I recently wrote a post on why launching on an App exchange is a good idea. Every new big platform (like TikTok) usually goes through a process where they first open up their API and then launch an app directory. TikTok is in the first phrase now.

My prediction is that this API will unlock a throve of data and inspire indie founders to create niche products (trending TikTok videos you could port to YouTube, for example) that will grow into 4-5-figure MRR companies.

He goes on to say that the same opportunity may exist for Twitter’s new Spaces API.

This massive list of public APIs might also give you some ideas.

5000 users in 3 months from SEO

Smartwriter.ai is an AI writing assistant

Someone from the company posted on Reddit how they shifted from paid ads to SEO and brought in 5000 new users in only 3 months.

It’s simple enough stuff, and something you could pitch as a freelance service to other SaaS businesses if you’re handy at SEO.

(If you’re not, start by reading pretty much everything on Backlinko.)

Btw, Smartwriter.ai has a 7-day free trial, and I suspect the 5000 “users” they counted were people who signed up for that. Their paid plans start at $59/month. Even if they converted only 10% of free trials to paid accounts, that’s at least $30k in additional MRR, and the SEO work they’ve already done should keep delivering more new users every month

Ever heard of The Art of Manliness?

It’s mainly a website and podcast these days. Back in 2013 it was already pulling in more than $400,000 a year in revenue (source), and now it likely earns millions each year.

One thing about them I find fascinating: they built their YouTube channel to 1.2 million subscribers and then pretty much abandoned it so they could focus on other projects.

Words from founder Brett McKay in a 2017 video:

So I had all these irons in the fire. I was working on the book, working on [an online course], had the podcast going… also writing text articles… managing The Art of Manliness store, as well as managing just the day-to-day business… so something had to give and it was videos.

Imagine having worked your ass off to build a successful YouTube channel and then quitting it. That’s the kind of tough decision A-players make, while lesser entrepreneurs stretch themselves thin trying to keep every plate spinning (I speak from painful personal experience here )

Reminds me of something Tim Ferriss once wrote:

Oftentimes, in order to do the big things, you have to let the small bad things happen. This is a skill we want to cultivate.

Check out this article about a 12-year-old named Benyamin Ahmed.

He apparently learned about NFTs earlier this year, then started creating and selling his own collections.

His second collection cost $300 to produce, sold out in one day, and earned him $255,000 worth of ether. He has since earned another 30 ether (about $95k) on the resale market, due to a 2.5% royalty on subsequent sales.

By now, his total earnings are expected to be more than $400,000

Oh, and remember Axie Infinity, that Play2Earn game I mentioned a couple of weeks ago?

Looks like the big money there is selling game characters. The top sale so far was for almost $1 million (300 eth = about that much)

5 Minute Fiverr Gigs

If so, you might find plenty of customers on Fiverr.

But wait, not so fast…

Getting Started on Fiverr

Hearing stories like Alex Fasulo making $378,000 a year as a freelance writer on Fiverr, you might think it’s an easy place to make money online.

But it took her about four years to get to that point

Here’s a video of a guy making only $80 profit his first 14 days on Fiverr. That’ll give you a good idea of what it takes to gain traction on there.

Like any other established online marketplace – Upwork, Amazon, Etsy, etc. – you’ll likely have to work your ass off for very little pay in the beginning

But if you stick with it and pump out consistently good work, you have a chance to become the next Alex Fasulo.

Brick Walls

That reminds me of something Randy Pausch said in his famous last lecture…

Remember, the brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something, because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.

Actually, it might be closer to $100 million, as Erik Allebest didn’t give an exact number in his recent Mixergy interview.

Erik started out running chess clubs in schools and later sold chess products online. Then he bought the chess.com domain for $55,000 back in 2005. The site was initially a popular forum and eventually people could play chess on there.

4 months after launch they were up to $4000 MRR, and Justin wrote on his blog at the time how hard it was to get to that point and how the business wasn’t earning enough to justify all the time he and his co-founder were putting into it.

But less than a year later, Transistor had taken off ($30K MRR) and Justin was paying himself a $7500/month salary

Last year Chris tested out an item commonly found in pharmacies – he doesn’t say what it was exactly – and ended up doing about $140,000 in sales in 3 months, with profits in the region of $35,000

Chris uses a combination of FBA and FBM (Fulfillment by Amazon vs. by Merchant) in his business.
