Pulumi – $109,824Clojure – $95,000Terraform – $90,482When respondents were asked how they learned to code, the most common answer was from free online resources (videos, blogs, etc).
With that in mind, here are 3 quality free resources for learning how to code…
ExercismColt’s Code Camp (YouTube)FuturecoderStop Asking QuestionsAndrew Warner from Mixergy recently published a book called Stop Asking Questions
Andrew has done 2000+ interviews with successful entrepreneurs and he’s a master of his craft. His book is a must-read if you do any kind of interviewing.
But it isn’t only about interviewing. I consider it a how-to manual for having deeper, more meaningful conversations. In business and life.
I’m currently going through the book and sharing some highlights on Twitter
One of my favorite concepts is something Andrew calls a “shoved fact.” Check out this snippet, and you can also hear Andrew talking about it on the Indie Hackers podcast.
Crypto Optimist vs SkepticI enjoyed this conversation between Ezra Klein (the skeptic) and Katie Haun (the optimist), as it tackles the topic of crypto critically and without hype.
They also avoid getting bogged down in technical explanations and instead focus on “what crypto can do, what the world will look like if it works.”
It’s like listening to two smart people back in 1997 talking about what the internet could look like in 20 years
Full transcript of the conversation.
3 ways to do affiliate marketingI’ve updated my affiliate marketing primer to clarify 3 distinct ways to do affiliate marketing:
With a website (SEO)With a profile (influencers)With advertising (paid ads)Check out the full article for pros

of each approach, plus sober answers to questions like…
The guys from Authority Hacker started a
golf site a few years back – it was actually a demo site for their TASS course – and recently sold it for $100,000+
Sounds like it was earning them $4000 or $5000 per month at the time of sale.
They shared the full story of that site in a recent YouTube video.
Btw, we’ve been collecting reviews of Authority Hacker’s premium AH Pro training.
Here’s a new one from Sa El of SimplyInsurance.com…
I’ve been able to build my affiliate marketing business to $75,000+ per month, but it was a long road to get there. If I could do it all over again, Authority Hacker Pro would have been the first course I purchased.
Doors close on that training midnight Tuesday (October 25).

Link building
is a key part of SEO, and I love finding creative examples of it.
Here’s one: Taloflow helps companies find good software. Two weeks ago they published poking fun at something that happened in their industry. The site already has 297 backlinks from 67 domains, passing some nice Google juice along to their main site (linked twice in the footer).
Another example: The Game Christmas Tinner. Game.co.uk came up with a novelty product idea that they knew people would link to, then linked from that page to the “gaming chair” page they were really trying to rank
Lots more examples of clever link building listed on this page.
Here’s one you could offer as a service to businesses in interesting locations…
$60,000/month fighting climate changeThe most creative thing I have done in order to get a backlink installing a webcam overlooking the beach. It was for a hotel, and once we had the webcam feed up on a page on the site. We started doing link building and we got so many links, it was a great ROI.
Ecologi is a company that helps offset your carbon footprint. You basically pay them a few bucks per month and they plant trees
and fund other climate crisis solutions.
They’re an open startup, which means you can see their revenue numbers and other juicy info here.
Monthly revenue is more than £300,000 with 15% of that – about $60,000 per month – going towards running the business.
Design intern to $1M business ownerJack Butcher launched Visualize Value in 2019 and grew it quickly to six figures in monthly revenue.
Never mind the decade he spent before that learning design, launching multiple businesses, and becoming a skilled marketer
AppSumo has a free guide (email signup required) breaking down how he went from design intern to earning $1 million a year from his own products.
Step one is to get really good at your craft…
Before you build processes and products that scale, you must first hone your abilities. Copywriting, design, development—there are no shortcuts to mastering these skills. It’s all about putting in the hours, weeks, months, and years to hone your particular skill set.
A turning point for Jack was reading Naval’s famous Twitter thread: How to Get Rich (without getting lucky)

About our 31-factor editorial review processHow does CPA Evolution help you make money?
William’s course aims to help you monetize a website or paid ads via affiliate marketing.
A common example would be when you create a campaign for Facebook ads and send the Facebook user to a landing page where they sign up to play a game.
Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services, and collect a commission for every successful referral.
CPA affiliate marketing is when the referral doesn’t need to purchase something but rather complete some task like sign up to a newsletter with an email address. CPA stands for Cost Per Acquisition which means how much it costs a company to obtain a new user or customer.
Learn more about affiliate marketingHow much does CPA Evolution cost? The listed price of William Souza’s CPA marketing course is one payment of $997 or 3 payments of $397.
William says that you don’t have to spend more money after you join, as you can rely on free traffic. But he also advises that you invest $200 in paid ads (for example Facebook ads) to see success more quickly.
CPA Evolution Discount?Sorry, there doesn’t seem to be any discount available for CPA Evolution.
Refund PolicyAccording to the sales page for the course, it comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. But you may have to jump through some hoops to avail of that.

CPA Evolution Alternatives
All the purchases are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. However, in order to protect ourselves from customers who may eventually act in bad-faith and ensure that we work with serious people only who are truly interested in implementing the program, the following requirements have to be met for a refund request to be accepted and processed:
* The customer has to actively use the support and 1-on-1 guidance for at least 30 days, as it is a vital part of the program and absolutely required for the expected results to be achieved;
* The customer has to fully implement at least one of the strategies in the program, which may include testing more than one campaign (normally 3 – 4) using the method.
Instead of the money-back guarantee, after 30 days in the program the customer can request the Success Guarantee, which includes 1 (one) 30 (thirty) minute Skype call per week and priority support until at least one campaign becomes profitable. The requirements above also apply for the Success Guarantee. Customers who request the Success Guarantee agree to stay in the program with the special assistance and resources and no longer are covered by a money-back guarantee.

Side Hustle Nation recently interviewed the co-founders, Pete Mockaitis and Brian Kearney, who shared how the business came about and how they’ve grown it to $10,000/month.
What I love most about AwesomePros is that the opportunity grew organically from Pete’s experience doing his own podcast. He was struggling to manage all the podcasting tasks himself, figured out how to outsource them, then started helping others do the same.
Classic example of turning a problem into an opportunity

This Sunday (October 17) Authority Hacker are opening the doors on their advanced digital marketing training, Authority Hacker Pro.
I just pushed publish on this review of AHP, complete with feedback and ratings from a bunch of real students.
Best skip this if you’re new to working online – start here instead – but give it a look if you’re already making $1000’s/month from a website and want to take it to the next level
(Btw, if you’ve previously bought Authority Hacker’s beginner-friendly TASS course – reviewed here – you can upgrade to AHP at a discounted price. Just contact their support.)
8 ways to pre-sell your productI love that they provide real-world examples – mainly SaaS and digital products – such as…
Brian Casel pre-selling $3000+ (SaaS)Ch Daniel pre-selling $1000+ (SaaS)Pat Walls pre-selling $10k (course)Encharge pre-selling $3950 (SaaS)Online Game Pays More Than UberI mentioned Axie Infinity a few weeks ago, an NFT-based online video game that’s especially popular in the Philippines
some players in the Philippines are earning 5–10x what they were making from their previous jobs. New homes have been purchased, charitable acts have been made, and even shops are accepting SLP as payment.
Unfortunately Axie Infinity is not free to play. And as the game has grown more popular, the startup cost – ie. the price of 3 Axie Infinity characters (NFTs) – has been rising. Right now it will cost you $700+ to buy in
That’s where Yield Guild Games comes in.
From the same Coinbase article:
Similar to how Uber pairs people who want to earn money driving with people who need rides, YGG pairs people who want to make money gaming with the NFTs they need to earn in play-to-earn games. In many parts of the world, people are opting to work with YGG over Uber simply because it pays more.
So YGG basically lets you use their NFTs so you can play the game, and you keep 70% of what you earn from play.
Crunching the numbers shared by Coinbase, it looks like the average player was taking home $568 per month via YGG
No idea how many hours they had to put in to earn that much, but if you’re in a lower-income country and enjoy playing online games, it could well be worth your while.
Here’s an 18-minute video showing you how to play Axie Infinity.
Creator Coins 101Brian Clark delivers a good intro to creator coins
Creator coins are a custom-branded form of digital currency. Effectively, this means you can create your own cryptocurrency and develop a virtual economy around your digital business.
One interesting example is The Tilt newsletter, which pays you $5 USD worth of their $TILT coin when you subscribe, and another $5 worth for every subscriber you refer to them. The more $TILT you hold, the more perks you get access to, such as merch discounts, access to a private Discord group, etc.
Many creator coins operate a bit like Patreon, but instead of patrons paying monthly, they buy and hold your coin and thereby become more invested in your success – because the bigger you become, the more your coin is worth.
BitClout did a lot to put creator coins on the map earlier this year, but that platform is looking increasingly shady
Rally.io seems like a much better alternative for anyone looking to launch their own coin. Here’s an excellent in-depth analysis of the pros and cons of that platform, and creator coins in general.
Have you bought or launched a creator coin yourself? If so, hit reply and tell me about it. I’d love to hear your experience.

How To Get 1 Million SubscribersFascinating article by Simon Owens: How many videos does it take to get to 1 million YouTube subscribers?
He crunched the numbers on 10 channels that recently passed 1 million subs – an admittedly small sample size – and found…
It took an average 492 videos for a creator to hit 1 million subscribers. The lowest number in my dataset was 123 and the highest was 1,688.
It took roughly four years for the average creator to hit 1 million subscribers. Two did so in only a year and one creator took nine years to reach that number.
So how do you get 1 million subscribers?
You grind it out for longer than most people would consider reasonable
As Simon puts it…
7 years and 3 weeksThe secret to overnight success is that there are no overnight successes. Every creator you now look up to was once just like you: grinding it out, one piece of content at a time.
Speaking of no overnight success, a fitting quote from Steph Smith’s Doing Content Right…
There’s a video that I love, where Steve Allen asks Jack Kerouac about his bestseller. He asks, “How long did it take you to write ‘On The Road'”, to which Jack replies, “Three weeks”. But when Allen asks, “How long were you on the road for?”, Jack says, “Seven years”. In other words, Kerouac spent seven years and three weeks writing that book.
(Here’s that very video, from 1959)

How does Authority Hacker Pro help you make money?
Authority Hacker Pro is a collection of ~18 advanced digital marketing blueprints, all related to building and growing an authority website.
An authority site is content-driven website that is a respected and trusted source of information. It is a larger site that delivers real value through it’s excellent editorial standards. This makes people trust the advice and recommendations from the site.
That description is from this page on the Authority Hacker website, which does a great job of breaking down the authority site business model.
The AHP training teaches you how to grow and monetize such sites in various ways. Each blueprint details some method of increasing traffic and/or conversions, or scaling your business.
For example:
Three of the blueprints within Authority Hacker Pro. Note that The Authority Site System (reviewed here) can be bought separately.Who is Authority Hacker Pro for?
The AHP sales page notes that the training is for three types of people…

You will find all three types within the private AHP community – 2200+ members as of this writing – but my impression is that it’s mostly website owners who sign up for the training.
From the AHP sales page…
In terms of what types of sites these tactics will work best on, while our main focus is affiliate websites, you’ll find useful tactics for a wide range of website types, including eCommerce, General blogs, Product Websites and Local Business Websites.
One thing most AHP students have in common is that they already have some solid experience with digital marketing.
In particular, they come to the AHP training with decent knowledge of topics such as…
Search Engine OptimizationAffiliate MarketingEmail MarketingLink BuildingWebsite DesignMany of them learn those basics from Authority Hacker’s beginner-friendly training – The Authority Site System – which is included in Authority Hacker Pro but can also be bought separately.
They come to Authority Hacker Pro looking to take things to the next level. For example, they might be aiming to…
Boost their affiliate or display ad incomeEffectively market their own productsCapture more leadsGet more backlinksSpeed up their websiteOptimize their SEO effortsBuild a teamOutsource more effectivelySell their websiteIn case I haven’t made it clear enough already: Authority Hacker Pro is advanced digital marketing training and therefore not ideal for newbies.
IMO, you should only sign up for this training if your website is already earning $1000’s per month and you’re looking to take it to the next level.
Full list of ways to make money online (including beginner options)Does Authority Hacker Pro have a good reputation?Yes.
Authority Hacker has been around since 2013 and they’ve built an impressive reputation in the internet marketing world.
The owners and founders of Authority Hacker – Gael Breton and Mark Webster – have received praise from big names like Ahrefs, Miles Beckler, and Noah Kagan…

The Authority Hacker podcast has also received many positive reviews over the years…

Google around for a while and you’ll be hard pressed to find anyone saying a bad word about Gael, Mark or Authority Hacker.
More importantly, their training programs – including Authority Hacker Pro – are simply top notch. I review lots of online business courses and few come close to the quality the Authority Hacker guys manage to achieve and maintain.
But don’t just take my word for it…
Are Authority Hacker Pro students getting results?Usually when I evaluate an online business course I look to see how many students it has helped go from zero to hero.
But it seems most people who sign up for Authority Hacker Pro are already quite successful, and are looking for AHP to boost their business even further.
Many of those high-level entrepreneurs end up giving the training a glowing review.
For example…

We regularly reach out to students of Authority Hacker Pro, asking for their honest feedback about the course. And we find their feedback to be almost entirely positive
For example…
I'm usually pretty skeptical about these types of courses, but I can tell you that their system helped me build an affiliate site that has made over $2mil to date.
Sarah Levy
I took the Authority Hacker course and applied the principles to my previous eCommerce site to pivot it to affiliate. Fast forward 18 months, and I've made multiple 6 figures USD from this site. I've also been able to build another site from scratch which is doing very well. All in all, the best investment I've ever made in my life!

I am currently using the Authority Hacker Pro course and have implemented a lot of the training (they call them Blueprints). As a result of implementing what I learned in the course, the traffic to my site has doubled in 4 months.
Brad McCartney
There are two pricing options for Authority Hacker Pro…
One payment of $2,49712 payments of $249 ($2,988 total)The one-payment option works out $491 cheaper.
Visit Authority Hacker ProThere are many paid tools and services recommended within the training, and how much you will need to spend to implement what you learn depends on which blueprints you’re following.
For example, you can’t follow the Keyword Research Blueprint without an Ahrefs subscription, which starts at $120/month. And the Giveaways Blueprint requires a subscription to Gleam.io, which costs $97/month.
This underscores that the AHP training is for advanced online marketers who can afford to invest in premium tools and services to grow their business.
If you’re serious about implementing everything you learn in the AHP blueprints, expect to spend $100’s or even $1000’s beyond the cost of the training itself.
Here’s the official word on additional costs within AHP…
Authority Hacker Pro Discount?
We are very careful to make sure that you get the best value for money and use the same tools throughout to ensure consistency and to keep the price down.
The amount of money spent on tools will vary between blueprints but we will try to outline clearly what will be expected of you before you partake in each blueprint.
We also make use of free tools throughout the blueprints.
I’ve been following Authority Hacker for several years and have yet to see them offer a straight-up discount for AHP.
Unless you count the $491 you save by paying for the training all at once instead of going with the monthly payment plan.
However, if you’ve previously bought The Authority Site System and wish to upgrade to Pro, contact the Authority Hacker support team and they will give you a 20% discount for the upgrade.
As a member of Authority Hacker Pro, you will also get access to a discounts page with exclusive software and service discounts.

Simply email us within 30 days of purchase and we’ll give you a FULL refund.
I’ve yet to hear of anyone having an issue getting a requested refund from Authority Hacker, so this refund policy is solid.

Should you join Authority Hacker Pro?
Words from the AHP sales page…
This course is aimed at people who have an existing website that is already making a modest profit. If you’re already making over $1,000 a month, or if you want to grow your site fast, then this is the course for you!
While I think Authority Hacker Pro is amazing overall, I believe it is best suited for authority site owners who are earning more like $3000+ each month.
Anything less than that and IMO you’d be better off starting with The Authority Site System (reviewed here) and upgrading to Pro later, once you’ve mastered the basics.
AHP is the type of training you dive into once you’ve already achieved some decent success and are ready to level up
But make sure you have time set aside to make the most of it…
“On average though, each blueprint will take around 2-3 weeks to go through and implement working at a steady 2-3 hour a day pace.” – AHP sales page
If you already have contractors or employees working on your website, you might want to give them access to Authority Hacker Pro and have them go through certain blueprints and implement what they learn. The Writer Training Blueprint is perfect for this.

Hey, I’m Niall Doherty.
I quit my last 9-to-5 job back in 2010.
Since then, I’ve earned my living online in various ways. Over the last six months I’ve earned an average of $18,055 per month, mostly from affiliate marketing.
I’m on a mission to accurately rate and review all the best affiliate marketing courses. My team and I have spent 500+ hours investigating these courses and getting feedback from real students.
All that to say: we know a thing or two about affiliate marketing and making money online.
The Best Affiliate Marketing Course? We’re on a mission to find the best affiliate marketing course, based on our own extensive research plus feedback from real students.
The Four Percent training covers much more than affiliate marketing, but most students seem to focus on that aspect of it.
Unfortunately, Four Percent doesn’t come close to topping our list of the best affiliate marketing courses…

How does Four Percent help you make money?
Four Percent is an entire suite of courses, all focused on online business.
The full Four Percent Gold Membership gets you access to such courses as…
Communication & Copywriting MasteryAffiliate Marketing AcademySEO MasteryFacebook PPC SecretsEcom EntrepreneurHowever, most people who sign up to Four Percent seem to focus on the affiliate marketing aspect of the training.
This is likely because Vick invites you to a webinar about affiliate marketing right after you join Four Percent, calling it “the fastest way to make money right now.”
Automated email I received from Vick right after I signed up for the free Four Percent training.Affiliate marketing is when you promote other people’s products or services, and collect a commission for every successful referral.
Four Percent’s affiliate marketing training is somewhat unusual in that you’re mainly taught how to promote Four Percent itself.
At least that’s the impression I’m left with having researched successful 4% students and browsed through the private Facebook community (more on this later).
So essentially Four Percent teaches you how to become a commission-based salesperson for Four Percent. The more new customers you refer to the training, the more money you make.
Below is a video from Vick’s YouTube channel so you can get a feel for his style. He also gives an overview of his affiliate marketing philosophy (ie. the “hub” model).
Learn more about affiliate marketingWho is Four Percent for?
Having researched Four Percent extensively, I would say it is mainly aimed at people new to working online who are looking for training and coaching that will help speed up their progress.
Vick Strizheus has had big success with Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) in the past, and there is a strong MLM vibe from the Four Percent training. So if you’re down with that sort of thing, you’ll probably enjoy being a member of Four Percent.
That said, I do consider Vick’s pitch for his affiliate marketing training to be quite misleading. I have significant experience with affiliate marketing, and I flat out disagree with many of the claims I’ve heard Vick make.
Such as:
“There is nothing, absolutely nothing, simpler or more lucrative than affiliate marketing”
“This is the easiest money you can ever get yourself into online right now”
Affiliate marketing is great in many ways, but to call it “easy money” and make it out to be a very simple type of online business is grossly misleading, IMO.
Vick acknowledges this himself by citing a statistic that 95% of people who try affiliate marketing fail
Given that the Four Percent training is so focused on affiliate marketing, I’d say that it’s actually NOT great for newbies.
Full list of ways to make money online (including easier options)Does Four Percent have a good reputation?I’ve reviewed lots of affiliate marketing courses over the years, and in terms of reputation, Four Percent is one of the more questionable I’ve seen.
It all starts with Vick Strizheus himself.
Google around a bit and you’ll soon find two big skeletons in his closet…
Convicted of insurance fraudApparently one of Vick’s first jobs was working for an insurance company, and he was convicted of submitting fake policies to earn more commissions. Some sources say Vick spent time in prison because of this.Heavily involved in Multi-Level Marketing
For a few years in the mid-2010’s, Vick was one of the leading promoters of an MLM company called Empower Network, which eventually went bankrupt. MLMs are notorious for enriching their founders and early promoters at the expense of everyone else involved.
Indeed, Vick still seems to be a big advocate of the MLM business model.
During his affiliate marketing webinar, he names “network marketing companies” – another term for MLM companies – as his #2 source of products to promote…
Screenshot from Vick’s affiliate marketing webinarThere’s even a premium course within Four Percent showing students how to promote 7K Metals.
And, as mentioned, there is a strong MLM vibe from Four Percent itself, in that the students earning commissions mainly seem to be earning them by recruiting other people to Four Percent. (See examples below.)
Another red flag for me are the regular complaints about Vick not following through on his promises.
For example, there are many complaints in the private Four Percent Facebook group about a training program called Coop that Vick launched a few years ago. Apparently it fell through and many students were left hanging indefinitely for refunds and commission payouts…

There certainly seems to be a pattern of Vick promising students of Four Percent various things, and then either failing to deliver or keeping them waiting for a very long time…

That last comment speaks to another issue: anyone in the private community who criticises or questions Vick or Four Percent is often dismissed as a naysayer and told to “stop whining”.
Vick himself seems to encourage this “shouting down” of critics, saying in his webinar that he succeeded by doing whatever his mentors told him to do, without question…
I was smart enough to listen. I did not question my mentors. If I had a mentor and I knew the mentor knew what he was doing, I did not question anything.
But wait…
You might have seen that Four Percent has thousands of positive reviews on Trustpilot…

Unfortunately, those reviews and the overall rating must be taken with a large pinch of salt.
I say that because most of them come from excited newbies taking the free Four Percent training, who are asked to leave a review after every lesson…
Above: how Four Percent gets so many positive reviews on Trustpilot; by asking new students to leave a review after every free lesson.Accordingly, most of the reviews are just empty platitudes that don’t tell you anything about the quality of the premium Four Percent training.
For example…

When I searched the Trustpilot reviews of FourPercent for words like profit and revenue, the results were sparse. Indeed, searching for words like refund and scam brought back more results
All that said, Vick has managed to build multiple successful online businesses over the years. He is clearly doing a lot of things right, and so there’s plenty to learn from him, especially if you’re a fan of MLM.
Are Four Percent students getting results?I spent several hours researching Four Percent, going through the private community, and searching for reviews online.
In one session I found 16 people in the Facebook group reporting that they’d recently earned commissions.
13 were commissions earned from recruiting someone else to join Four Percent3 were commissions for a product called WebinarFuelHere’s an example from the first category…

WebinarFuel turns out to be a product that is promoted within the Four Percent training, so ultimately all 16 of the those “success stories” I found were Four Percent students earning commissions from other Four Percent students.
I would much rather see success stories that show students earning affiliate commissions from other sources, and not being so dependent on convincing other people to join Four Percent.
But maybe that’s just me.
Coincidentally, that WebinarFuel software is owned by Anthony Morrison, who also has an affiliate marketing course called Partner With Anthony (reviewed here).
The “success stories” for that courses look very similar to Four Percent, with students mainly earning income by referring other people to the same training.
This wouldn’t be so bad if such income was scalable and sustainable, but it doesn’t appear to be. For example, the person responsible for the above screenshot elaborated in the comments of the same post…

That means it cost him $200 to generate $229 in revenue, leaving him with $29 in profit.
Granted, he could go on to earn recurring commissions on those referrals, if the people he referred stay in the training for several months. But as of this writing he has been a member of Four Percent for 5 years, and the above screenshot is the only income he’s ever reported
Given the popularity of the Four Percent program – there are 24,000+ students in the private Facebook group, and Vick claims the course has more than 300,000 members from 130 countries – I would have expected to see lots of legit success stories. But as illustrated above, they are sorely lacking.
Especially when you consider that Vick promotes his affiliate marketing training as a way to “make a minimum $5,000” in only 30 days…
Screenshot from Vick’s webinar promoting his affiliate marketing trainingAll that has me skeptical that anyone who signs up to Four Percent today can earn a decent income from it
You can sign up to Four Percent and take a couple of courses for free, namely 7 Steps to Freedom and Mass Traffic Blueprint.
This will also get you access to the private Facebook group.
To unlock the other courses within Four Percent, you will need to upgrade…

Unfortunately, the silver plan shown above seems to have been discontinued. Clicking on it, I get an error message that reads:
We’re currently not accepting new members for Silver level. Get started with Gold.
So Gold Membership is the cheapest plan available.
The price for Four Percent Gold:
One payment of $1997Or 12 monthly payments of $297 (total = $3564)Your Gold membership includes:
All 4% premium coursesWeekly live coaching calls with Vick12 months access to ESTAGE Website Builder12 months access to the ChickyBoom affiliate networkAfter 12 months, I assume you will have to pay the regular monthly price to retain access to ESTAGE and ChickyBoom:
Estage = $97/monthChicky Boom = $97/monthSo as you can see, if you stick with Four Percent for more than a year, you’ll likely be on the hook for $196 in monthly payments to retain full access
Furthermore, while it seems you can become an affiliate for Four Percent without paying anything beyond the cost of Gold Membership, Vick does have an upsell to the Four Percent VIP Partner Pack, which gets you 40% commissions instead of 30%.
That costs another $497 per year.
I’ve heard reports of other upsells within the training, but I’ve been unable to verify them. It seems Vick regularly launches and tests new offers and pricing plans, so best not take the above info as gospel.
But based on reports I’ve seen from students, it’s a safe bet that you’ll need to spend at least $3000 in the first 12 months to make the most of the Four Percent training.
Four Percent Discount?I haven’t seen any legit discounts available for Four Percent, and didn’t find anywhere to enter a coupon code at checkout.
You can of course save some money on your Four Percent Gold Membership by signing up for annual instead of monthly. The annual costs $1997, whereas the twelve monthly payments add up to $3564.
Refund PolicyThe refund policy for Four Percent is a bit confusing.
Per their terms and conditions…
Due to the nature of the The Four Percent Group business and the accessibility of our products immediately upon purchase, there is a strict 30-days refund policy, which begins on the date of purchase. This 30 days refund policy is relevant to programs only. Any subscription based products such as The Four Percent Group Membership, The Four Percent Group Member promotional rates, Summit and/or event tickets are non-refundable.
From that, it sounds like you can get a refund on one-time payments so long as you request your refund within 30 days of purchase.
But if you sign up for a payment plan, it seems you are not entitled to a refund. But you should still be able to cancel future payments.
It’s worth reminding you here that I saw several people in the Four Percent Facebook group saying they were waiting several months and even years for a refund on a 4% training called Coop.
And I’ve seen a few claims that Four Percent makes promises to keep you in the training past the refund period, but then fails to follow through.
For example…
How is the program structured?“I have lost about $2300 due to four percent and got nothing in return. When I asked for a refund I didn’t get it because the 30 day refund policy was over. Throughout these 30 days we were promised a lot of stuff that never came true and therefore didn’t ask for a refund. We were promised that we would get traffic to our landing page for free which never happened. They switched the affiliate vendor at some point because too many people were applying for credit card refunds.” – via Trustpilot
Here’s how the Four Percent program looks once you’re logged in…

You get access to a couple of basic courses with the free Four Percent membership.
With a Gold Membership, you also get access to the following courses and coaching programs…

For example, the two Facebook courses are taught by Anthony Morrison.
The content is mostly video. Vick also does a live coaching call for students each week.
All members of Four Percent – even free members – get access to the private FourPercent Facebook group, which has 27,000+ members and is very active.
Green Lights
Here are a few things to like about Four Percent:
Offers some training and community for free.Premium training looks comprehensive.Weekly live group calls with Vick.Strong emphasis at becoming the best at what you do.Active private community.30-day money-back guarantee.Red Flags
A few things about Four Percent that might give you pause:
Lack of significant student success stories.Too MLM-y for my liking. Some big skeletons in Vick’s closet.Expensive compared to most other affiliate marketing courses.Full cost of implementing the training undisclosed when joining.Claims affiliate marketing is an easy way to make money online.Misleading ratings and reviews on Trustpilot. Many students complain about Vick not keeping his promises.Other things you should knowVick is big into old-school self-improvement and positive thinking. Accordingly, you’ll regularly see him mention and refer to concepts like the Law of Attraction and books like Think And Grow Rich.I would be wary of using the ESTAGE website builder that comes included with the Four Percent Gold Membership. It looks like a slick product, but apparently it is only free to students for the first 12 months of their membership. After that, the price is $97/month, which is very expensive for a website builder. One of the dangers of Four Percent is that many students end up promoting Four Percent itself. So if you are successful in earning money by following the 4% training, you are likely to end up dependent on Four Percent for your income. If at some point Vick Strizheus decides to stop selling his products or stop paying affiliates – and there is evidence that he has shortchanged affiliates in the past – then you no longer have a business.Should you join Four Percent? If you are new to entrepreneurship and are looking for a quick and easy way to make money online, you’ll likely end up disappointed with Four Percent.
Vick Strizheus may tell you that affiliate marketing is “the easiest money today” and that you can quickly “turn your passion into a 6 or 7-figure business”… but the results of his students – or rather the lack thereof – seem to prove otherwise.
Furthermore, Vick’s past misadventures – eg. convicted of insurance fraud and being a big proponent of network marketing – combined with reports of him often failing to follow through on promises to students… well, it all makes me hesitant to trust the man.
Lastly, while there does seem to be lots of courses on offer inside Four Percent, the price tag is quite steep compared to other affiliate marketing courses. Sure, 4% will teach you more than affiliate marketing, but I’ve yet to see compelling evidence that students are successfully building all kinds of online businesses.
In summary, I’d recommend steering clear of this one unless you’re a big fan of Vick Strizheus and the MLM approach to affiliate marketing.

Serious Money on SubstackSeveral examples of successful Substack newsletters
mentioned in this Fortune article…
Of course, those newsletters are in the minority.
Uri Bram, himself a former Substacker, is quoted in the same article…
“Most people are struggling… Most newsletters are not doing well. They’ve got a smaller audience. It’s really hard to grow. You try so much stuff and you push really hard and it doesn’t work. It’s just, who’s going to say, ‘My Substack is making $600 a month and I work on it every minute’?”
Something else that stood out to me in that piece…

Ran out of cash / failed to raise new capital – 38%No market need – 35%Got outcompeted – 20%The second one is probably the most important to watch out for
As Paul Graham wrote back in 2006…
In a sense there’s just one mistake that kills startups: not making something users want. If you make something users want, you’ll probably be fine, whatever else you do or don’t do. And if you don’t make something users want, then you’re dead, whatever else you do or don’t do.
So if there is a market need and your product/service addresses it well, it shouldn’t be too hard to raise new capital or overcome most other hurdles.

Buying an audience for $14007.3 Million Views for $1820Self-talk of a $40 billion womanSomeone Else’s RocketDeal of the Week: SOUNDRAW$100,000/Month BBQ BlogHow accurate are keyword tools?Freelance writing to $7k/month in 1 year$120k/year one-man Webflow businessNever Too LateBuying an audience for $1400I’ve mentioned Brett Williams in this newsletter a couple of times before. He’s the guy who runs DesignJoy, the one-man design subscription service that pulls in $75,000/month
He recently wrote about buying an audience rather than building one…
I’ve neglected building an audience and sharing what I’ve learned over the years. And quite frankly, I just don’t have the time. So I had the idea of “buying” an audience.
He goes on to describe how he found and bought a design-focused Instagram account with 60,000 followers for $1400, and quickly landed a $2500/month customer via his first post.
I often harp on about the value of having an audience. But as Brett noted, it can take a lot of time and effort to build one. If you have the budget, buying an audience can be a smart shortcut. Definitely worth considering if you want to launch something like an online course or ebook but don’t have any audience built up
Alternatively, you could partner with someone who has an audience, get them to help promote your thing. Pay them a flat fee or arrange a revenue share.
7.3 Million Views for $1820
Here’s a good example of partnering with TikTok influencers to promote a product.
Tactiq.io is a freemium browser extension that transcribes Google Meet and Zoom calls.
Last year they paid $1820 to creators on TikTok, resulting in 22 videos which generated “7,363,561 TikTok impressions, 920,426 likes on TikTok, and over 150,000 new users.”
Looks like this was the most watched video of the campaign, with a whopping 2.4 million views. You can see all Tactiq’s sponsored videos on TikTok here
TikTok influencers are surely charging more for videos now, but their rates are still likely to be cheaper than influencers on older platforms like Instagram and YouTube.
Oh, and if you don’t have your own product to promote, consider offering this as a service to someone who does.
Self-talk of a $40 billion womanMelanie Perkins is the co-founder and CEO of Canva. She started the company in Australia
in 2008 and it’s now valued at $40 billion
Back in 2018, Melanie posted an inspiring write-up of her journey on LinkedIn.
My favorite part is the note she wrote for herself during one of her “deepest darkest moments” back in 2011, when she was in San Francisco trying to find investors and recruit a team…
Mel, you’re extremely tired. You are in a challenging situation, though you can pull through. Nothing bad is really happening, you’re just feeling depressed because you are used to achieving things quickly. It’s a hard environment. There is no doubt you will succeed and you will find the team you need, get the investment you need and build the company you have always wanted. You have chosen to put yourself in a challenging situation. If it wasn’t challenging you wouldn’t feel as satisfied when you get to the end goal.
That’s a beautiful example of positive and encouraging self-talk, the type of thing you’d like to hear from a wise and caring friend when you’re feeling down
If you were to write an encouraging note for yourself today, what would it say?
Someone Else’s RocketJakob Greenfeld lays out several examples of businesses that have successfully piggybacked on someone else’s success rather than building something from scratch
Such as:
Copy.ai growing to $100k MRR and raising $2.9M off the back of GPT-3Set Product earning $20k/month selling templates for FigmaA Udemy course for Next.js that has earned at least $200,000A few resources you can use to find rockets…
Exploding TopicsGlimpseGoogle TrendsTrends.vcTrends.co (reviewed here)Deal of the Week: SOUNDRAWSOUNDRAW is an AI music generator that lets you create high quality royalty-free music for videos, podcasts, video games, etc.
Check out the demo video on this page, especially from the 0:50 mark.
I really wish I had this back when I was making regular YouTube videos, as one of the most time-consuming tasks was finding and editing background music
SOUNDRAW is running a lifetime deal for only $69 right now, even though it usually costs $20/month or $199/year!
I grabbed the deal myself; damn thing has me wanting to make YouTube videos again.
$100,000/Month BBQ BlogSmokedBBQSource.com doesn’t look particularly impressive, but according to this interview it was earning $100,000/month as of a year ago
Sounds like 75% of the revenue comes from affiliate marketing, and the other 25% from display ads.
Joseph Clements started the site in 2016 from New Zealand
and didn’t consider himself a barbecue expert at all in the beginning…
Because I wasn’t an expert, I made the decision early on to position myself as an amateur trying to get better. So a lot of the early articles would be about something I was just learning, and I would essentially research the topic and document everything I could find… I put a lot of effort into gathering quotes and opinions from reliable sources, and combining a lot of info into a single easy to read piece.
This strategy still seems to work well.
For example, a few months ago I didn’t know much about Amazon FBA. But after spending 120+ hours researching the topic, investigating a bunch of courses and writing up my findings, my content already ranks #5 on Google for the term best Amazon FBA course

How accurate are keyword tools?Authority Hacker just published an 8-minute video about this
They got real traffic data for 47 websites and compared it to the traffic estimates for those sites in several popular keyword tools.
Turns out Ahrefs is the most accurate tool overall, but Ubersuggest is a pretty good (and much cheaper) alternative.
That said, keep in mind the example of Lim How Wei that I shared a couple of weeks back. He was able to build a site that earns $1103 per day from display ads while doing his keyword research via Google’s free Keyword Planner and autocomplete queries.
So a premium keyword tool isn’t essential for SEO success. But if you can afford one, it should improve your chances
That’s the story of Anangsha Alammyan, a 28-year-old freelance writer from India
Anangsha started off writing an article a day on Medium – “about book recommendations, feminism, and personal development” – and was earning $1000/month through their partner program.
Eventually a client saw her articles on Medium and offered her $1500/month to write five 300-word blog posts each week.
Later she landed another freelance client, started writing for NewsBreak – which apparently pays $60 per article and an additional $10 per 1000 views – and began monetizing a newsletter with Swapstack.
That’s four separate income streams Anangsha has built via her writing – each generating more than $1000/month – all while working as an assistant professor at a university
Youssef Sarhan’s business is DesignDash.co.
It’s similar to the aforementioned DesignJoy, operating as an unlimited design subscription service where clients pay a monthly fee.
Youssef works solely with Webflow, a no-code platform for web design. He did a Q&A about the business a few months back, and estimated that he could 3-4X without hiring help.
Also notable from that Q&A is that Youssef landed his initial clients via Twitter, where he’s built up an audience of 37k followers
Ever hear of a little restaurant chain called McDonalds?
Some words from Ray Kroc, the man who made it famous…
Sign up for more tips and insights to build your online business 🚀“When I flew back to Chicago that fateful day in 1954, I had a freshly signed contract with the McDonald brothers in my briefcase. I was a battle-scarred veteran of the business wars, but I was still eager to go into action. I was 52 years old. I had diabetes and incipient arthritis. I had lost my gall bladder and most of my thyroid gland in earlier campaigns. But I was convinced that the best was ahead of me.”
