Fun Fall Hiking Adventures!

Hi, everyone! I hope you have had a fantastic Saturday so far! I have taken a day “off” from all interweb related stuff (well, except for about an hour this evening ;-) ) in order to spend time with my husband and family. Part of the day was spent taking these pretty pictures on a hiking trail near our home. I’m really loving how all of the fall colors are starting to peek through the green!

I ADORE orange and red leaves. The yellows are super pretty, too, but orange and red leaves have a special...

Leaves Talk: Thankfulness

See? Even this little Leaf-Buddy can find the silver lining! I mean, c’mon! Dude just fell a gazillion feet from a tree and found something to be happy about! ;-)

In all seriousness, though, it doesn’t matter how dark or sad things look sometimes; joy can be had when you choose to see it. Some days, it’s not even sadness or stress that can get you down…it’s burn out…or a sense of being overwhelmed. Whatever it is that’s got you “down” or feelin’ blue, remember a very important lesson: “Count you...

Days Made For Reading

*Sigh*…The last few days have been MADE for reading. I’m not talking about sissy, taking-a-five-minute-reading-break kind of reading. I’m talking ALL day marathon reading! If you’vebeen around the blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m not only an author, but a voracious reader. With the colder weather has come an intense desire to snuggle up in fluffy pajamas, blankets, and sit with a good book…forhours. I was the kid in high school that would be crazy sleepy in class because she had stayed...

So…about those free Kindle eBooks…

I’ve got like forty billion of them now. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go check out this Amazon page. Check it every hour. It will C.O.N.S.U.M.E. your life. Seriously. Sometimes, there are insanely great books in those lists that will only be available for free for a few minutes. I’ve made some great scores! In the past two days alone…I’ve been able to nab 13…THIRTEEN free books from this list! Again, they aren’t always free forever, so you do have to check it often. Moral of this...

Fall is here…

I can feel it. There is a snapping coolness to the morning that wasn’t there before. The wind bites with a bit of frigidity. Candles are lit earlier and nights have grownlonger. I adore this time of year. When I was younger, I didn’t really appreciate the seasons of fall and winter except for the holidays involved–Halloween, Christmas, etc. I didn’t understand the glorious parallel between the season’s attributesandour own physical selves. Fall is a time of settling down and quieting the mind...

What Can Indies do While Waiting on Sales?

This is a tough question to answer. In the beginning of one’s writing career, it is often normal to suppose, “Oh, writing the entire novel and prepping it for publishing is thehard part.” FALSE. Marketing and waiting on sales is the hard part. TRUST me.

My book has been published just a little over a month now and though I’ve been pleased with my sales so far, it is still tough to sit and wait on people to take a chance onNight Bells. All these crazy questions will run through your mind like,...

Book Review: Ella Enchanted

Title:Ella Enchanted

Author:Gail Carson Levine

Length:232 pages

Genre:Fantasy//Fairy tale retelling

My Rating:5/5 Stars

First off, be warned. This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite books and I cannot say enough good things about it. If you’re looking for someone to find any faults with this lovely novel, seek it elsewhere. This book is a jewel among young adult fiction titles.Growing up, I had to have read this book about five times at least, probably more. I adored everything about this story. In fa...
