Iowa Republicans Embarrass Themselves With A Clown Show Caucus
The Iowa Republican Party is grumbling that Trump was declared the winner too early, but it was the Republican Party that gave the results to the media.
Iowa Republican Party Chair Jeff Kaufmann blamed the media in a statement:
Media outlets calling the results of the 2024 first-in-the-nation caucus less than half an hour after precinct caucuses had been called to order — before the overwhelming majority of Iowans had even cast their ballot — was highly disappointing and concerning. One of the key differences between the Iowa Caucus and a standard primary election is that Iowans have the chance to listen to presidential candidates or their surrogates and deliberate to make an informed decision. “There was no need to rush one of the most transparent, grassroots democratic processes in the country.
There is just one problem.

If the Republican Party did not want the results to be reported, then they shouldn’t have given them to the media. If the caucus process needs time, the party needs to give it time. In Iowa, the caucuses are run by each political party, not by the state.
Each presidential election cycle, Iowa continues to show why they and their caucuses should not be first in the nation. There was no drama in the caucus. Everybody knew that Trump was going to win, but if the Iowa Republican Party cared about participation by voters, they should stop releasing early results to the media.

Intel provides update on Battlemage graphics cards
In an interview at CES24, Intel Fellow Tom Petersen went into detail about Intel’s upcoming graphics cards, the Xe2 Battlemage line.
Battlemage, Intel’s second unit in the Arc range of graphics cards, seems to be on track for a 2024 launch, with Petersen confirming that the cards are performing in Intel’s labs. Hardware development is complete, and the focus is now on the software of Battlemage.
Petersen also stated that around 30% of Intel’s graphics card engineers are working on Battlemage, primarily on software. Most of the engineers have moved on to the next generation of cards, known as Celestial.
“It’s coming, I am excited about it, and all our engineers, you know how they are constantly doing their engineering things. I’d say about 30% of our engineers are working on Battlemage, mostly on the software side because our hardware team is on the next thing (Celestial). So, think about it as the Battlemage already has its first silicon in the labs which is very exciting and there’s more good news coming which I can’t talk about right now. We hope we are going to see it before CES ’25.” Petersen said in the interview.
Fans will be pleased with this dedication to the software – the Xe1 Alchemist, Intel’s first-generation graphics cards, had notably finicky drivers, with PC Gamer damning them with faint praise: “less buggy than expected.”
When will Xe2 Battlemage be released?Despite speculation, there is no confirmed release date for Xe2 Battlemage yet. The Xe1 Alchemist was hit by delays which disappointed fans. This may discourage Intel from giving a launch date until they are certain they can meet it to avoid further disappointment.
There is a huge degree of hope resting on the success of Intel’s graphics offerings. PC gaming graphics has been a two-horse race between Nvidia and AMD for a long time and the introduction of a third option into the market promises more options and fairer pricing for consumers.

Man Arrested for Child Sexual Abuse, Authorities Say Multiple Victims Suspected Including Toddlers | The Gateway Pundit

A 54-year-old Chambersburg resident faces serious allegations of sexually abusing multiple children, including toddlers.
Several counts of child sexual abuse are alleged to have occurred at his home, according to PA State Police
Franklin County Press reports,
Gibson’s arrest on December 29 follows a investigation revealing abuse against at least five children. The victims include two-year-old twins and children as young as four and six years old. The investigation began on September 14, 2023, when a 6-year-old girl disclosed to a third party that Gibson had exposed himself to her and engaged in inappropriate behavior.
The children, who lived with their mother and Gibson, have been subjected to abuse since at least January 1, 2021, according to court documents. Reports indicate that Gibson committed various acts of sexual abuse, including rape. The children’s 7-year-old brother, who did not report being raped, witnessed several of these assaults and described other disturbing scenes of sexual acts between Gibson and their mother.
Gibson faces 32 charges, including four counts of felony rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent exposure, and corruption of minors. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Annie Gomez Shockey, who set his bail at $500,000 cash. Unable to post bail, Gibson remains in the Franklin County Prison. His preliminary hearing was held on January 9, and his formal arraignment is scheduled for February 14 before Judge Shawn D. Meyers.
The Pennsylvania State Police believe multiple victims are out there due to Gibson’s status and resources in York County.
They are asking the public to please get in touch with them with any additional information and potential victims. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at 717-264-5161, referencing incident number PA23-1260731.

A Foodie Itinerary for Normandy, France
When it comes to great cheese, seafood, and amazing meat, one region of France comes to the mind of most French people: The Normandy region.
Yes, about 2 hours drive north of Paris, nestled between the medieval city of Rouen to its south, to the north the Flowered coast with its elegant houses and horse racetracks, and west, the Normandy D-Day Beaches and the Mont St Michel, Normandy, is The Foodie Region of France.
Most people have heard about Camembert cheese, but very, very few, even among fellow Normands, know that it all started with a village called Camembert.
Here’s how to plan the ultimate foodie itinerary for Normandy.

Start Your Foodie Itinerary for Normandy by Visiting Camembert, March to October (Morning visit)Yes, around 1790, according to the local stories, a young bishop, bishop Bonvoust, leaving the furor of the French Revolution, arrived, exhausted and starving, in the small village of Camembert.
There he met a young woman who had just lost her husband by accident. Maybe to an angry bull, who knows?
Anyway, she offered the bishop a safe refuge and step by step, they improved their cheese-making skills. Back then, most women made cheese, cream, and butter at home, and ministers used to have the privilege of aging and refining soft cheese.
Almost a century later, their grandson, Victor Pesnel, upon the arrival of the Emperor of France, Napoleon III, at the nearby town of Vimoutiers, gave the emperor a cheese as a gift from the region. The emperor, delighted by its unique flavor, asked where it came from. The answer came as a burst from Victor Pesnel, Camembert!
There it was. The cheese had its name.
Now, for those who want to know more about the iconic cheese of France, you should definitely visit Camembert. Camembert is a lovely village about a 1-hour drive from Caen or Bayeux. It is a really picturesque place.
There, you can visit the House of Camembert, a museum dedicated to the history of the famous cheese. You will learn about the history and the importance of the Terroir or the place where it is made.
Camembert is now a product of a designated origin or AOP product. The real Camembert has to be made using only Normandy cows, the brown spotted ones with brown around their eyes.
We call these their goggles. Smart cows.
Since 2021, in Camembert, you can also attend the production of the iconic cheese. A small farm was opened in the village, allowing visitors to check the whole production. The factory works only on week mornings. It is a very small factory with just four employees, so they open only in the morning.
For now, their annual production is set at 25,000 cheeses per year. They own all their cattle and process their raw milk on the spot. On Thursdays, they also do a delicious cream. The milk from these cows is so rich that the cream looks and tastes like a vanilla ice cream.
Then you should head to the small shop by the museum, where you will have a nice sample of Camembert cheese to check for yourself the difference between the real stuff, the raw milk version made exclusively with Normandy cows, and the standard version, similar to the President, the one available in all supermarket chains all over the world.
Promise me, you won’t return to a regular Camembert when you’ve tasted the real thing.
Lunch by the Watermill near LisieuxAfter Camembert, you should head for a unique lunch at Le Moulin du Fossard.
Since 2018, Katy and Benoit Villeneuve have taken over this restaurant near Lisieux.
Previously, believe it or not, the building was a Camembert small factory, and even before, it was a chocolate factory. The water mill was the engine of the place. It now serves as a wine cooler for the best bottles of the place.
This place is not in or anywhere near a tourist spot yet, along a small road, but it has a serious, steady clientele of French Foodies who know what they are looking for when they come here. Each month, following the season, and the availability of local products, chef, Benoit changes the menu and takes a great pride in showcasing the essence of a beetroot, a spinach, a trout.
Benoit, who previously worked at Le Drakkar in Deauville, got tired of cuisine that had to slice more truffle, lobster, and caviar. Now, with simple yet amazing products, he focuses on subtle flavors for people who want a real gourmet lunch or dinner with no more show-off.
With Katy, he met in Deauville at Le Normandy Hotel, they fell in love with the place and now many locals are in love with this small restaurant. A true small jewel.
Calvados, the liquid gold of Normandy (Apple Brandy)Normandy is also very famous for its distinctive liquor, the Calvados.
According to the legend, its recipe was invented in 1553 by a gentleman farmer from the Cotentin, the Lord of Gouberville. Yet, apples have been, for centuries, the fruit of the region.
Beuvron en Auge – Apples for Apple Brandy.Normands have drank cider since the Romans, and William the Conqueror, grieved by sorrow after the death of his wife Mathilda in 1078, might not have said NO to some cider to forget the pain.
There are countless Calvados distilleries in the region. There is even a tourist road called the Road of the Cider, where one can, just like in Burgundy, stop almost every five minutes to try another type of unique spirit.
Calvados is a distilled version of cider. After distillation – in the Pays d’Auge, around Lisieux, Pont L’Evèque, we do a double distillation to get the best of the liquor – it has to age in oak barrels for at least five years to be smooth and pleasant.
It can age much more than five years. The older, the better, and the more pricey.
If I can recommend at least two distilleries in the region not too far from the restaurant, Le Moulin du Fossard, then I would recommend:
La Spiriterie Française at Le Breuil en AugeIn 2020, Mr Dussart bought this distillery and expanded the range of liquors produced as well as he clearly improved the visit of the distillery.
This distillery is set just on the way to the famous Trouville Deauville, at the exit of the A13 from Paris, near Pont L’Evèque.
It is also a Renaissance Chateau. The Chateau is now a B&B and can be rented for the week or weekend. Just ask the distillery, and they’ll be happy to explain to you how to rent the Chateau.
Of course, after the distillery tour, you will try most of the Calvados they produce. The bar where you can try these clearly reminds you of a trendy Parisian bar. They also serve delicious cocktails with young Calvados.
Calvados ExperienceAnother distillery I highly recommend nearby is the Calvados Experience in Pont l’Eveque.
This distillery, also known as Le Pere Magloire belongs to another French liquor group, Spirits of France.
Since 2020 as well, they created an immersive visit which takes you on a journey in the history and landscapes of Normandy region to show you why this product is really the true spirit of the place.
After the tour, a very Manhattan-like bar will allow you to sample all the Calvados they produce and even more.
An Ice-Cream in HonfleurIn the summer, if you still have some time, I would suggest you finish your day itinerary for Normandy with Honfleur.
Honfleur’s small docks of the lovely little port town, untouched since 1500, are now the perfect place for a cafe and an ice cream.
Yet, there are ice creams and ice creams.
Les Glaces de La Ferme du Bois LouvetThe one I always go to is Les Glaces de La Ferme du Bois Louvet.
It is just at the corner of the City Hall of Honfleur, by an art gallery. Their ice creams are made with 100% of the milk of this farm, which is used to make these delicious ice creams.
No preservatives, no artificial flavors.
And even more, they propose flavors no one else does any longer, like the delicious old-fashioned Plombiere flavor, made with almond extract, kirsch, and candied fruit.

Police in the UK Arrest Six Pro-Palestine Protestors in Suspected Plot to Disrupt London Stock Exchange | The Gateway Pundit

The Metropolitan police in London announced the arrest of six people for allegedly plotting to prevent the London Stock Exchange from opening for trading on Monday.
The investigation began after information was passed to the Met by the Daily Express on Friday.
The suspects, according to police, are all members of the group Palestine Action and were planning to disrupt the Exchange by “locking on” to the building and causing “huge economic damage.”
It is alleged that their plans included climbing on top of two revolving doors at the front of the building with red paint-filled fire extinguishers and locking themselves by their necks to the entrance.
A statement from the Met reveals, “In the early hours of Sunday, 14 January Met officers working alongside colleagues from Merseyside Police arrested a 31-year-old man in Liverpool on suspicion of conspiracy to cause criminal damage.”
“A further five people, all believed to be part of the same plot, were arrested later on Sunday for the same offence.”
Detective Superintendent Sian Thomas said, “These are significant arrests. We believe this group was ready to carry out a disruptive and damaging stunt which could have had serious implications had it been carried out successfully.
“I’m grateful to the Express for their willingness to provide the information gleaned from their own investigation. It was instrumental in helping us intervene successfully.”
Six people have been arrested by detectives investigating a plot to disrupt the London Stock Exchange.
The six – all members of Palestine Action – were arrested in Liverpool, London and Brighton today.

Met officers, alongside officers with the Merseyside police, arrested a 31-year-old man in Liverpool on suspicion of conspiracy to cause criminal damage on Sunday morning. Later, officers arrested two more people in Liverpool, women aged 28 and 26, as well as a 29-year-old woman in Brent, north London, a 23-year-old man in Tower Hamlets, east London and a 27-year-old in Brighton.
“We believe this group was ready to carry out a disruptive and damaging stunt which could have had serious implications had it been carried out successfully,” said the Met police Det Supt Sian Thomas.
“Mindful of the suggestion that this was one part of a planned week of action, we are in contact with the City of London police as well as other forces across the UK to ensure that appropriate resources are in place to deal with any disruption in the coming days.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been criticized for its latest diversity and inclusion hiring initiative.
The FAA is implementing a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative that specifically targets individuals with disabilities, including “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric disorders, and other physical conditions.
According to the FAA, Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring. The targeted disabilities are:

The FAA, a pivotal government agency responsible for regulating civil aviation, employs approximately 45,000 individuals, according to FOX News.
The timing of this initiative is noteworthy, particularly given the recent scrutiny faced by the FAA and the airline industry following a malfunctioning incident involving a Boeing 737 Max 9 during an Alaska Airlines flight.

Gay stick to her guns and was about to overcome the threat of dismissal, when a series of reports regarding her alleged widespread plagiarism emerged, causing her to finally resign in disgrace.
Former Harvard donor Bill Ackman was one of the main actors in the push to oust Gay, and he piled heavily on the plagiarism allegations.
That’s when Business Insider published two stories showing alleged evidence of plagiarism involving Ackerman’s wife, former MIT professor, designer and architect Neri Oxman.
Now, Business Insider’s top executive and parent company are doubling down in their reporting, stating their are ‘satisfied with the fairness and accuracy of the stories’.

“’We stand by Business Insider and its newsroom’, said a spokesman for Axel Springer, the German media company that owns the publication.”

Axel Springer looked into the pieces about Neri Oxman following strident complaints by Ackman, a Harvard graduate and CEO of the Pershing Square investment firm.
“He publicly campaigned against Gay, who resigned earlier this month following criticism of her answers at a congressional hearing on antisemitism and charges that her academic writing contained examples of improperly credited work.
With its stories, Business Insider raised both the idea of hypocrisy and the possibility that academic dishonesty is widespread, even among the nation’s most prominent scholars.”
Ackman’s response raised questions about the outlet’s independence.
“Business Insider and Axel Springer’s ‘liability just goes up and up and up’, Ackman said Sunday in a post on X, formerly Twitter. ‘This is what they consider fair, accurate and well-documented reporting with appropriate timing. Incredible’.”

Business Insider’s first article argued that while Ackman had used revelations about Gay’s plagiarism to attack her, its journalists ‘found a similar pattern of plagiarism’ by his wife Oxman – who was in no way involved in the controversy up until that point.
A second piece alleged that, in her 2010 doctoral dissertation at MIT, Oxman stole sentences and paragraphs from Wikipedia, fellow scholars and technical documents.
“Ackman complained that it was a low blow to attack someone’s family in such a manner and said Business Insider reporters gave him less than two hours to respond to the accusations. He suggested an editor there was an anti-Zionist. Oxman was born in Israel. The business leader reached out in protest to board members at both Business Insider and Axel Springer.”
Today (14), Business Insider CEO Barbara Peng stated ‘there was no unfair bias or personal, political and/or religious motivation in pursuit of the story’.
Peng said called stories ‘newsworthy’ and said that Oxman, with a public profile as a prominent intellectual, was fair game as a subject.
Ackman vowed revenge ‘in a few weeks’ against Business Insider, sharing on X a short video of the Gladiator movie: ‘At My Signal, Unleash Hell’.
