Trump’s town hall on FOX News this week almost doubled the ratings of the Republican debate between Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis on CNN.
Democrats and other assorted critics have been complaining for months about Trump’s lack of participation in the GOP primary debates, but he is simply going around the establishment and succeeding in doing it.
The Iowa Caucus is next week. could this be an indicator of how things will turn out there?

Former President Donald Trump’s town hall on Fox News Channel (FNC) Wednesday night received nearly double the viewership of CNN’s Republican primary debate featuring former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to data from AdImpact.
“Last night, Donald Trump’s town hall on FNC had nearly double the viewership of the 5th Republican Presidential Primary debate on CNN: an estimated 5.7M to 2.9M,” AdImpact announced, providing a chart of the estimated viewership of past debates and town hall events.
“The town hall was the most watched Presidential primary TV event we’ve tracked since November 8th,” it added.
Indeed, the chart showed the first GOP debate, which took place on August 23, kicking off with a bang with 14.2 million estimated viewers. That only declined as the debates rolled on, descending to 9.9 million and 9.2 million, respectively. Trump participated in none of the debates, often offering counterprogramming — whether an interview with Tucker Carlson or meeting with striking autoworkers in Michigan.

Google Assistant is removing these 17 features
Google has announced it is removing 17 features from Assistant in a shakeup of its virtual software application.
Given the advances in artificial intelligence (AI), Bard could be considered to be the future of Google Assistant and as part of ongoing changes to the tech giant’s service offering, it is removing what it describes as “underutilized features”.
In the blog announcement, the search giant detailed how it is “prioritizing the experiences you love and investing in the underlying technology to make them even better.”
The changes will disappoint some but the full breakdown details how users will still be able to access the generic features from a device, just not directly using Google software.
Amongst the key features to be hit, is the ability to set or use media, music, or radio alarms on Google Assistant-connected devices. The blog explained you can create a custom routine that has similar behavior or use a standard alarm. You will no longer be able to send an email or audio message with a voice prompt but that doesn’t seem like too much of a burden, given how those options are generally utilized.
Anyone who wants to give feedback or to relay their dissatisfaction with the changes has been invited to say “Hey Google, send feedback,” to leave a comment.

During a recent episode of her podcast, Megyn Kelly throttled MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski over her softball interview of ‘Doctor’ Jill Biden.
Megyn was joined by the members of the ‘Ruthless’ podcast who correctly pointed out that Jill is a complete hypocrite for acting like Hunter Biden is being attacked by Republicans.
They point out that the images of Hunter that Jill was complaining about came directly from the laptop that Joe’s campaign claimed was a Russian disinformation operation.

Samsung shows off Galaxy Buds prototype with OLED display
Samsung has showed off a Galaxy Buds prototype with a circular OLED display on the case at CES 2024.
CES 2024 has almost wrapped up for another year, and all of the big companies (and most of the small ones for that matter) have played their hands. But there’s still the odd nugget of novelty to be found out on the showroom floor.
Take this little oddity from the Samsung Display booth, which would have been easy to miss among all the cute robots and bendy screen prototypes.
Samsung has been showing off the generically titled Earbuds OLED Case, which is effective a set of Galaxy Buds true wireless earphones (those are the Galaxy Buds 2 pictured above) with a circular OLED display on the case. CNET captured a brief video of the Earbuds OLED Case in action.
The OLED display is being used to display familiar time widgets (seemingly straight from the Galaxy Watch), as well as live battery information and a spinning record music streaming app animation. More usefully, this touchscreen component lets you adjust core earphones settings without having to dive into the associated smartphone app.
Samsung claims it has no intention of turning this Galaxy Watch prototype into an actual product, at least at present. As mentioned, this was on the Samsung Display booth, so it’s intended to showcase the compact OLED technology rather than the product.
However, this hasn’t stopped JBL from launching its Live 3 Earbuds at CES 2024, with its case containing a touchscreen display that lets you manage texts, calls, and social media alerts. JBL, of course, is owned by Harman, which is a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics.
In other words, if the JBL Live 3 Earbuds do well this June (they’ll cost €199.99), Samsung will be one of the first to know about it, and will have everything in place to drop a pimped up Galaxy Buds spin-off like this into the market.

GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a criminal complaint against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over her ‘improper’ relationship with a top Trump prosecutor she hired to go after Trump.
As previously reported, crooked Soros-funded Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis had an ‘improper’ romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, a top Trump prosecutor in her office.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fani Willis “financially benefited” from a romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, a top prosecutor she hired to go after President Trump.
Nathan Wade was brought in as a special prosecutor by Fani Willis in November 2021.
In August Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis hit President Trump and 18 others with RICO and conspiracy charges for daring to challenge the 2020 election.
A Fulton County grand jury returned a 41-count indictment which included RICO and conspiracy charges against Trump.
The motion was filed in the Superior Court of Fulton County on behalf of defendant Michael Roman, a former Trump campaign official who was hit with counts 1, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 in Fani Willis’ RICO case.
The motion seeks to have the charges against Michael Roman dismissed and for Fani Willis, Nathan Wade and everyone in the DA’s office to be disqualified from the RICO case against Trump.
The filing claims Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor hired to go after Trump, paid for luxury vacations he took with Fani Willis to Napa Valley and a cruise in the Caribbean – and used money from Fulton County to pay for their out-of-town escapades.
“County records show that Wade, who has played a prominent role in the election interference case, has been paid nearly $654,000 in legal fees since January 2022. The DA authorizes his compensation.” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The motion claims “sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney have confirmed they had an ongoing, personal relationship.”
The filing asserts Fani Willis never got Wade’s appointment to special prosecutor approved by the Fulton Board of Commissioners, which is required by law.
Marjorie Taylor Greene called Fani Willis’ relationship with Nathan Wade an “illegal conflict of interest.”
Rep. Greene’s criminal referral was sent to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp (R) and Attorney General Chris Carr.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., filed a complaint Wednesday alleging criminal misconduct by the district attorney prosecuting former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants in the Georgia election interference case.
Greene, a vocal Trump ally, requested a criminal investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and the prosecutor representing the DA’s office in the case after an attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, in a filing seeking dismissal of the charges, alleged that the two had an improper relationship — what Greene called an “illegal conflict of interest.”
The referral, submitted to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Attorney General Chris Carr and first reported by NBC News, pertains to claims that Willis may have personally benefited by tapping special prosecutor Nathan Wade amid accusations that the two have traveled together to destinations such as the Napa Valley and the Caribbean.

Taiwan chipmaker TSMC beats expectations despite modest Q4
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) confirmed steady fourth-quarter revenue on Wednesday (Jan 10) which, while slightly lackluster, still beat analyst expectations.
As reported by Reuters, the world’s biggest contract chipmaker, with Apple and Nvidia among its major clients, saw its results outstrip its expectations as well as those of the market overall, but it was just a modest increase that was posted.
For the same period 12 months previous, revenue came in at $19.93 billion, compared to $20.2 for the final three months of 2023.
The chipmaker behemoth had predicted its fourth-quarter revenue to fall within the range of $18.8b to $19.6b.
Next week, TSMC is due to report on its full fourth-quarter results when it will also set out its predictions for the current quarter and the year ahead.
Who is TSMC and what do they do?TSMC was founded in 1987 in Taiwan by Morris Chang as the first specialist semiconductor company and through the years it has emerged as an eminent, leader within its niche.
They design and manufacture microchips used in various electronic industries and have recently enjoyed a boom from the proliferation of AI projects and overall advances.
Asia’s most valuable listed company saw its stock price rise 30% in the last year, giving it a company value of $483.3 billion.
TSMC also announced last month that its incumbent chairman, Mark Liu, will step down in the coming months with the board recommending its current CEO and Vice Chairman C.C. Wei to be installed as Liu’s successor with changes to be ratified at the upcoming company election in June.
Amid ongoing US-China trade tensions and the geopolitical vista, Chinese chipmaker Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC) appears to have surpassed the 5nm process barrier, despite U.S. restrictions, by developing a cutting-edge chip for Huawei.
The 5nm process shrinks the smallest features on computer chips to just 5 nanometers wide. It’s exceptionally difficult to do. The technology required to undertake the task successfully is expensive and bleeding edge.
This represents a significant milestone for China plc, reducing its reliance on US suppliers, as well as sending a statement of intent toward its Taiwanese rival, TSMC.

REPORT: Obama Increasingly Worried Trump Will Beat Biden in 2024 Election | The Gateway Pundit
Former president Obama is apparently sweating the possibility that Trump could beat Biden in the fall election.
He has good reason to be worried, as Trump is already beating Biden in numerous polls and the country is obviously not satisfied with the direction of pretty much everything under Biden.
One has to wonder why Obama is so invested in the success of Joe Biden. Is it just partisanship or does he have something to lose personally?

Former President Obama is becoming increasingly anxious about the closeness of the 2024 presidential election and fears former President Trump could take back the White House, according to a report.
Former Attorney General Eric Holder, one of Obama’s closest confidants, told USA Today that if Trump were to win the Republican nomination and beat President Biden this November, there could be “incalculable damage” brought upon the country.
Holder confirmed Obama “absolutely” holds the same views when asked by the publication.
“I think that’s what motivates him. I think that’s what will continue to motivate him,” Holder responded.
Individuals within Obama’s inner orbit further said he believes the race would be extremely close, according to USA Today. Due to this, Obama will try to “move the needle” toward Biden with calculated moments throughout the campaign.
NBC News claims that Obama and Biden had a lunch meeting in December to discuss this.

Capcom accused of adding new DRM to back catalog to prevent mods
Games publisher Capcom is being accused of stealthily adding DRM to some of its back catalog of games and players are reporting a degradation in performance as a direct result.
After a fuss last year forced the gaming giant to remove the highly unpopular and controversial Denuvo DRM from Resident Evil Village, it seems another DRM issue is bearing down on the company.
The DRM in question is called Enigma Protector and it prevents mods and use of the Cheat Engine program.
More damningly, Enigma Protector seems to be adding stutters to gaming and reducing frame rates by between 10-16 frames per second, once again leaving the bizarre scenario where pirated copies of the game run better than legitimate paid-for copies.
A video surfaced on YouTube two months ago on the Capcom R&D channel of a presentation suggesting a will within the company to create its in-house DRM to work alongside Denuvo. It seems we may have reached that point.
The description of the video reads, “PC games have always been subject to cheating and piracy. Malicious cheating and piracy can reduce the value of the product and lead to a loss of profit.
“This presentation will explain the past background and current efforts to combat cheating and piracy.”
The complaints at the moment center around the ten-year-old Resident Evil Revelations, which, even after a decade, still has a Very Positive review rating on Steam.
It seems odd that Capcom would choose to re-protect such an old title and incur a cost for doing so, so there is potential that these accusations are inaccurate but reports that the Enigma Protector is blocking mods are rife on the Steam Community Forums.
User Dam Shark said, “They have been adding Enigma Protector to their games, even old games. Maybe a part of their recent anti-modding stance? Truly incomprehensible tbh.”
It seems Capcom might be going after modders of its games and trying to clamp down as reports on Twitter a few weeks back highlighted Capcom games featuring speedrunning or any kind of mod were hit with copyright strikes and removed from YouTube.
In the middle of 2023, Capcom was embarrassed when a Street Fighter 6 major tournament host forgot to turn off his nude Chun-Li mod and with viewers getting more than they perhaps bargained for.

Billionaire and Twitter/X owner, Elon Musk, is calling for greater election security and the requirement of voter ID, things that conservatives have been demanding for years now.
The consensus among people on the right is that relaxed voting laws, ballot harvesting and mail-in ballots were largely the reason why Biden was able to ‘win’ the 2020 election.
Musk is not necessarily a conservative, he is just embraces common sense, but this is one of the reasons why the left has turned on him.

X CEO Elon Musk is taking a public stand for stricter U.S. voting laws, calling for mandatory in-person voting requiring identification across all 50 states in multiple comments on his social media site.
The tech mogul has recently made multiple posts on the matter, writing on Monday that it is “insane” to be able to vote without providing official identification.
“In the USA, you don’t need [a] government-issued ID to vote, and you can mail in your ballot,” he wrote. “This is insane.”

In the USA, you don’t need government issued ID to vote and you can mail in your ballot. This is insane.

One person tried to claim that requiring voter ID is racist, a stupid argument that the left has made repeatedly.

Other countries that are less developed than the United States manage to conduct their elections in one day and announce the results immediately.
There is no reason why America can’t do the same.
