Samsung’s decision to can the S26 Edge couldn’t be more wrong
Of the vast array of phones I’ve used and reviewed throughout 2025, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge remains one of the most memorable.
Yes, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has fantastic cameras, Honor’s Magic V5 offers the slimmest foldable to date, and the OnePlus 13 offers a frankly massive battery – but there’s something about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge that just feels more exciting.
And, yes, I know that Apple’s new iPhone Air is even thinner, but as a primarily Android user, it’s great to have an Android-based alternative.
Well, it was great to have an Android alternative anyway, because apparently, there won’t actually be a Galaxy S26 Edge if news coming out of South Korea is correct. And that could be a massive mistake.
Rumoured poor sales shouldn’t guide Samsung’s decisionAccording to a new report from South Korean outlet Newspim, Samsung has decided to drop the development of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge following poor sales of this year’s Galaxy S25 Edge.
The publication claims that the Galaxy S25 Edge has only sold 1.31 million units compared to the Galaxy S25’s 8.28 million, the S25 Plus’ 5.05 million and the S25 Ultra’s 12.18 million.
What’s more, Samsung is set to halt production of the Galaxy S25 Edge once it goes through all remaining stock.

It’s not just the publication that suggests the S26 Edge has bit the dust either; notable leaker @UniverseIce made a similar claim on X, citing their own independent sources.
I got the information from my independent source:
Galaxy S26 Edge is definitely gone, 100% correct.
— PhoneArt (@UniverseIce) October 16, 2025
Now, I get it. Compared to the rest of the Galaxy S25 range, the S25 Edge isn’t a big seller – but what if Samsung had the same attitude to the first Galaxy Fold? The company only expected 500,000 sales after all – half that of the S25 Edge’s actual sales – and it was never confirmed if Samsung actually hit that target.
If Samsung had given up at the first hurdle, we wouldn’t have the spectacular Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 that we have today.
Now, apply that logic to the Galaxy S25 Edge; yes, it has its weaknesses, but imagine just how much it could improve over the next few years – especially if Samsung puts its big boy pants on and adopts silicon-carbon battery tech like the Chinese phone giants.
The S25 Edge was the first of its kind – but no longerSamsung had a bit of a challenge on its hands with the Galaxy S25 Edge, because simply put, it’s very hard to sell the benefits of an ultra-slim, ultra-light smartphone without physically putting it into the hands of consumers.
To be honest, my opinion of the S25 Edge wasn’t that positive at reveal; why would I want a phone with a tiny battery and no zoom lenses when paying £1099/$1099 for the privilege?

However, upon picking up the phone for the first time, I got it. A reduction of 2mm compared to regular phones might not sound like much on paper, but it makes a lot of difference in the hand.
At 5.8mm thick and 163g, it’s so much lighter, so much thinner and just nicer to use than any other phone I’ve used this year, especially when flagships like the Galaxy S25 Ultra measure in at a comparatively thick 8.2mm and 218g.
Still, Samsung got a lot of flak from the media and influencers alike at launch because, well, it was the first of its kind and, unlike similarly-priced smartphones, didn’t put spec above all else. I can’t imagine that helped sales either.
But now we have the iPhone Air.

As cheesy and cliché as it is to say, once Apple makes a new product, it quickly goes mainstream. Tablets were a niche until the release of the iPad, wearables were pretty basic before the days of the Apple Watch and, well let’s not forget that the iPhone was the first smartphone to popularise multi-point touchscreen displays that didn’t need a stylus.
Just the fact that Apple has made an ultra-slim phone will make more people open to the idea of trading spec for design.
And, compared to the Galaxy S25 Edge, it’s actually less impressive in areas like camera tech and battery life. The iPhone Air has a single 48MP camera compared to Samsung’s combination of a 200MP main and 12MP ultrawide, and its 3900mAh cell is more capacious than Apple’s 3149mAh alternative.

With this new comparison in mind, the Galaxy S25 Edge should be more tempting than ever – not less so, like Samsung is assuming.
Samsung needs to be bold hereSamsung is the Apple of the Android world in that, once it finds a formula that works, it rigidly sticks to it. Just look at its flagship Galaxy S25 collection; the S25 and S25 Plus look very similar to the S23 alternatives, and even share some of the same tech. Even the S25 Ultra, with its redesign, is still a very familiar device in many regards.
In essence, Samsung likes to be comfortable and play it safe. But that’s not what we need with the launch of an entirely new smartphone design.
I think Samsung should stick to the original rumoured plan, which was to ditch the S26 Plus model for the S26 Edge – while also rebranding the regular S26 as the S26 Pro, which is a whole other story.

Why? Besides the fact that the Plus and Ultra are so similar in many regards that the Plus is pretty much moot, we need something to shake up the rather stagnant flagship Galaxy range. And what better way to do that than by offering an ultra-slim alternative for those who don’t need the top-spec experience in every department? Variety is the spice of life, after all.
And, with both the S25 Edge and iPhone Air now in the rear-view mirror, Samsung no longer has the hard sell of an ultra-thin smartphone that it did in 2025.
So, Samsung, I’m begging you; keep at the Edge for a bit longer. I guarantee you’ll reap the benefits.

Pentagon Slams Netflix’s New Military Show as ‘Woke Garbage’ | The Gateway Pundit
Netflix is at it again with more woke antics that will surely backfire.
Their latest target: the military. As one can imagine, with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth leading the charge in trying to eradicate gender and race-based initiatives in the armed forces — and wokeness broadly, the Pentagon was not thrilled about the new series, “Boots.”
“Boots,” which debuted Oct. 9, is based off the memoir of former Marine Greg Cope White, titled “The Pink Marine.”
It follows a closeted gay teen who joins his straight best friend at boot camp as they navigate the terrain of the armed services. The show stars Miles Heizer, who like White, is also gay.
The trailer is predictably cringeworthy.
WARNING: The following video contains crude language and scenes that may offend some readers.
The Pentagon has now responded, with a representative telling Entertainment Weekly the military does not support the “ideological agenda” pushed by Netflix.
Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson added, “Under President Trump and Secretary [Pete] Hegseth, the U.S. military is getting back to restoring the warrior ethos. Our standards across the board are elite, uniform, and sex neutral because the weight of a rucksack or a human being doesn’t care if you’re a man, a woman, gay, or straight.”
She said, Pentagon officials “will not compromise our standards to satisfy an ideological agenda, unlike Netflix whose leadership consistently produces and feeds woke garbage to their audience and children.”
Hegseth himself has made it clear identity politics has no place in the armed forces.
In September, he summoned top military brass to Quantico, Virginia, where he stated, “Together, we’re reawakening the warrior spirit,” according to CBS News. The secretary made it clear that the armed services should consider wokeness effectively dead.
He put it more bluntly in his address: “We are done with that s***.”
WARNING: The following video contains vulgar language that some readers may find offensive.
Pete Hegseth brought every General & Admiral from around the world into 1 room to tell them this:

We are done with that shit” pic.twitter.com/SRgUwmaeAa

Netflix cannot give the public more reasons to boycott them. Earlier this month, X owner Elon Musk encouraged followers to abandon the platform for similar reasons relating to the LGBT agenda.
In that instance the streaming service was providing a cartoon to children, “Dead End: Paranormal Park,” which pushed the transgender agenda.
In the show, the cartoon’s main character, Barney Guttman, comes out as “transgender” to his friend Norma.
“I’m trans, Norma,” Barney said. “Being here, it’s like a whole new place. I can just be Barney, and I can choose if and when I tell people,” Forbes reported.
Netflix has been pushing a woke ideology for years. And conservatives have had enough.
“Boots” offers a perception of the military in direct opposition to Hegseth’s direct orders.
The message is clear: Your achievements and battle-readiness do not matter. Your loyalty to the country and the Constitution does not either.
What matters is your sexuality. This is the basis of your existence to which any other purpose is subservient.
This message is the one that Hegseth knows only makes this country unsafe.

Controversial Statement by Minnesota Elections Director Paul Linnell Sparks Debate on Voter Eligibility
In a recent legislative session, Paul Linnell, Director of Elections for the State of Minnesota, made a statement that has generated significant controversy and debate regarding voter eligibility and identification requirements.
During the session, Linnell explained that individuals who submit documentation to register to vote are affirming their identity. He clarified that a driver’s license has not been used as proof of citizenship for voter registration purposes, but rather as a means to confirm the applicant’s identity. Linnell also noted that if someone casts a vote and their eligibility is later challenged, counties generate reports to update the voter’s status, which can then be reviewed and forwarded to the county prosecutor.
The controversy arises from Linnell’s acknowledgment that, under the current system, individuals who might not be eligible to vote could cast ballots if they possess a driver’s license and affirm their identity during registration. This revelation has raised concerns among various groups about the integrity of the electoral process and the possibility of ineligible individuals participating in elections.
Critics argue that this approach could weaken safeguards intended to ensure that only eligible voters cast ballots, potentially leading to electoral fraud. They emphasize the importance of maintaining strict identification requirements to preserve the credibility of elections.
On the other hand, some defenders of the current system highlight the need for inclusion and access to voting. They point out that while security measures are necessary, the process should not prevent individuals who face difficulties obtaining traditional forms of identification from exercising their right to vote.
The debate continues as stakeholders from various sectors, including government officials, legal experts, and civic advocacy groups, engage in discussions to address the concerns raised by Linnell’s statement. The outcomes of these discussions could lead to revisions in voter registration procedures and identification requirements, aiming to strike a balance between security and accessibility in the electoral process.
In conclusion, Paul Linnell’s statement has brought critical issues regarding voter identification and eligibility—particularly among immigrants—into the spotlight, prompting a reassessment of existing policies to ensure both the integrity and inclusiveness of elections in Minnesota.

Trey Gowdy Predicts John Bolton Will Spend the Rest of His Life in Jail (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
Former Congressman Trey Gowdy has a harsh prediction about John Bolton’s future. When asked by Sean Hannity of FOX News how this all plays out, Gowdy basically predicted that Bolton is going to spend the rest of his life in jail.
Now, some people on the right don’t like Trey Gowdy and some might even call him a RINO, but his comments here are important. Prior to running for a house seat, Gowdy was a prosecutor. A good one. So when he says this it carries more weight. He knows his way around complicated legal issues.
This does not look good for John Bolton.
Transcript via Real Clear Politics:
JONATHAN TURLEY, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR, GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY LAW PROFESSOR: No, they are cut and dry. As a longtime criminal defense attorney, I got to tell you, 18 counts of this kind really concentrates the mind because the jurors tend to look at this as a very simple question. Did he have classified information?
Did he mishandle it? And two arguments will not work in that courtroom. One is that this is all old classified information. It doesn’t matter if it’s old or brand new. If it’s still classified, you violate the statute. The other argument is that everyone does this.
HANNITY: Yeah. All right. I’m gonna ask you both an exit question.
Trey, how does this play out?
GOWDY: He is convicted, and he spends the remainder of his natural life in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
HANNITY: Wow, that’s a prediction. How about Leticia James? As long as we’re, you know, you’re dispelling all this good news for people that believe in justice.
GOWDY: Oh, I think the facts in Bolton’s case are stronger than the other two.

Again, put aside your feelings about Trey Gowdy and just focus on what he is saying about John Bolton’s future. It’s a pretty harsh prediction and it’s coming from someone who knows the legal system.
Abigail Spanberger Says it’s ‘Horrifying’ That Crossing the Border Illegally is Considered a Criminal Act (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
Illegal immigration was one of the top issues of the 2024 election, but Abigail Spanberger, the Democrat running for governor of Virginia doesn’t seem to appreciate that.
In a video circulating on social media, Spanberger says that it’s ‘horrifying’ that under the current administration that crossing the border illegally is considered a criminal act.
Perhaps that is because it is a violation of federal immigration law. What is it about this basic fact that Democrats cannot seem to grasp?

— Steve Guest (@SteveGuest) October 17, 2025
This is obviously one of the reasons why the governor race in Virginia is now essentially tied. If elected, Spanberger is going to go right back to Democrat business as usual. She wants to ignore the mandate of the 2024 election.
She has already vowed to undo much of the work done on this issue by the current Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin.
The Virginia Mercury reported in August:
Spanberger vows to scrap Youngkin’s immigration order if elected governor
Democratic nominee for governor Abigail Spanberger says one of her first acts if elected would be to undo Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s February directive requiring Virginia law enforcement to help carry out federal immigration crackdowns — a policy she argues wastes local resources and undermines community trust.
“I would rescind his executive order, yes,” Spanberger told The Mercury in a lengthy policy interview earlier this month, referring to Youngkin’s Executive Order 47 issued in February. The order gave state police and corrections officers authority to perform certain immigration duties and also urged local jails to fully cooperate with federal deportation operations.
The governor said at the time the measure was meant to keep “dangerous criminal illegal immigrants” off Virginia’s streets. Spanberger countered that Youngkin’s approach illustrates how immigration enforcement can pull local agencies away from their core responsibilities while pushing state agencies into federal civil enforcement.
“Our immigration system is absolutely broken,” she said. “The idea that we would take local police officers or local sheriff’s deputies in amid all the things that they have to do, like community policing or staffing our jails or investigating real crimes, so that they can go and tear families apart … that is a misuse of those resources.”
If people in Virginia still care about the issue of illegal immigration, the choice in November is pretty clear.
South Carolina Supreme Court Issues Death Warrant for Killer in 2004 Case, Must Choose Method of Execution by October 31st | The Gateway Pundit
Convicted killer Stephen Bryant is going to face the death penalty next month. The South Carolina Supreme Court has issued the death warrant as of this week.
Bryant was found guilty of murdering three people in 2004.
Now he has until the end of this month to choose the method of his execution and because this is South Carolina, he has some choices.
FOX News reports:
Execution set for twisted killer who taunted police with message in victim’s blood: ‘Catch me if u can’
A South Carolina man on death row is scheduled to be executed next month for killing a man, burning his eyes with cigarettes and taunting police by painting “catch me if u can” on a wall with the victim’s blood more than 20 years ago.
Stephen Bryant, 44, will be put to death Nov. 14 after the state Supreme Court issued the death warrant Friday, rejecting a request from Bryant’s lawyers for a delay because they work with the federal court system and the U.S. government is shut down.
Bryant is scheduled for execution for one killing, but prosecutors said he also fatally shot two other men he was giving rides to as they were urinating on the side of the road in Sumter County in October 2004.
He will have until Oct. 31 to choose if he wants to die by lethal injection, firing squad or the electric chair. Since the state resumed executions last year following an involuntary 13-year pause due to trouble obtaining lethal injection drugs, four inmates have selected lethal injection and two have died by firing squad.
What a gruesome case.

Greg Gutfeld Dumps Cold Water on the ‘No Kings’ Protests: ‘An Imaginary Solution for an Imaginary Problem’ (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
The left is set to hold another round of ‘No Kings’ protests across the country tomorrow.
Of course, in America we already have a ‘No Kings’ day. It’s called July 4th, or Independence Day. The left is a little late to the game on this one.
This is why during ‘The Five’ on Friday, Greg Gutfeld called this ‘an imaginary solution for an imaginary problem.’
That is exactly correct.
Partial transcript via Eric Daugherty on Twitter/X:
“It says something that No Kings is happening while Trump is brokering peace around the world. He’s done like 7-8 peace deals. It shows that that doesn’t matter.”
“Anger requires no thought, no labor, no risk. Remember how Biden played the rage card whenever he never did anything else? Remember the rioting and looting after George Floyd? It was a replacement for thoughtful action.”
“The media indulges this idea that passion equals effort…it’s an imaginary solution for an imaginary problem.”
“The media decided to redefine it as a struggle. That whenever anybody did something violent, it had something to do with some kind of struggle.”
“It’s a full blown emotional vendetta is taken over their lives. Doesn’t matter what he does. So how is this possible? How can you have good things happening around the world and people participating in mass hysteria? Because it’s easy and it’s fun.”
“Having the No Kings event after Trump figures out Middle East peace is like holding a wedding after the couple broke broke off the engagement the night before!”
“A lot of these people just don’t have family.”

According to the journalist Andy Ngo, Antifa is planning to take advantage of the protests tomorrow.
Antifa have been posting flyers around the ICE facility in Portland calling for their violent militants to embed within the “No Kings” protest and agitate for violence. The call for that direct action originates on the Antifa online collective, Crimethinc.

The district attorney’s office confirmed to Fox News Digital that on Wednesday at 6:55 p.m., a 14-year-old student attempted to leave her dorm building at the Meadowridge Academy in Swansea, Massachusetts, without permission.
As staff, including 53-year-old Amy Morrell, and other employees intervened to stop her, the student allegedly kicked Morrell in the chest.
The staffer collapsed and staff immediately performed CPR and called 911, the DA’s office said. Swansea EMS transported her to a hospital, where she remained overnight in critical condition. The following afternoon, Morrell was pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released an official cause of death.
Megyn Kelly ROASTS Michelle Obama For Accidentally Making the Case Against Affirmative Action (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
Michelle Obama made a case against affirmative action by whining on her podcast.
The former First Lady is at it again after complaining about being a black woman and whining about how expensive it was to live in the White House on her failing podcast.
No wonder virtually no one is tuning into Michelle Obama’s new podcast.
Michelle Obama admitted that her SAT scores were so low that she did not belong in Princeton. She whined about how people at the Ivy League school perceived her because of the color of her skin.
“All my scores said I did not belong in Princeton… and people saw my skin color and they said ‘you are aiming too high’” Michelle Obama said.

Megan Kelly and Victor David Hanson roasted Michelle Obama.
“She got into Princeton and got a lifetime of advantages that she’s still living high on the hog from but she’s still bitter!” Megyn Kelly said.

In 2023, the Supreme Court crushed the racist ‘Affirmative Action’ policies at Harvard and the University of North Carolina.
The US Supreme Court ruled 6-2 in the Harvard case, with liberal justice Ketanji Brown Jackson opting out.
The high court ruled 6-3 in the University of North Carolina case.
Michelle Obama lashed out at the Supreme Court after the justices issued a historic ruling on affirmative action.
“Back in college, I was one of the few Black students on my campus, and I was proud of getting into such a respected school. I knew I’d worked hard for it. But still, I sometimes wondered if people thought I got there because of affirmative action. It was a shadow that students like me couldn’t shake, whether those doubts came from the outside or inside our own minds,” Michelle Obama wrote in her statement.
“So often, we just accept that money, power, and privilege are perfectly justifiable forms of affirmative action, while kids growing up like I did are expected to compete when the ground is anything but level,” Michelle Obama added.
“So today, my heart breaks for any young person out there who’s wondering what their future holds — and what kinds of chances will be open to them,” she said.
“And while I know the strength and grit that lies inside kids who have always had to sweat a little more to climb the same ladders, I hope and I pray that the rest of us are willing to sweat a little, too. Today is a reminder that we’ve got to do the work not just to enact policies that reflect our values of* equity and fairness, but to truly make those values real in all of our schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods,” she said.
BREAKING: Two Deep State Prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia FIRED and Escorted From Building For Leaking After Letitia James Indictment | The Gateway Pundit
The Justice Department is cleaning house as Deep State prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia ‘resist’ Trump and leak to the stenographers in the mainstream media.
Two more Deep State prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia (EDVA) have been fired.
Politico reported on Friday that two federal prosecutors in the EDVA – Elizabeth Yusi and Kristin Bird – were fired.

Deep State prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia are attacking US Attorney Lindsey Halligan with leaks after she successfully returned an indictment against Letitia James.
Corrupt New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia last Thursday.
According to the DOJ, Letitia James was charged with two crimes: Bank Fraud under 18 U.S.C. Section 1344 and False Statements to a Financial Institution under 18 U.S.C. Section 1014.
The charges are related to a mortgage loan on a property James owns in Norfolk, Virginia, referred to as “the Perrone Property.”
According to the indictment, James was to use the property as her secondary residence and prohibited its use as a timesharing or other shared ownership arrangement or agreement that requires her either to rent the property or give any other person any control over the occupancy or use of the property.
Letitia James treated her Perrone property like an investment property on her Schedule E form and paid taxes on the rental income, further contradicting her claims of secondary residence.
Lindsey Halligan, the newly-sworn in Interim US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia secured the Letitia James indictment by herself last Thursday.
President Trump got the ball rolling last month after he fired the ‘blue slip’ US Attorney in the EDVA.
Last month, President Trump fired Erik Siebert as the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia because he refused to bring charges against Letitia James, Comey, Schiff, and others.
Shortly after Siebert’s firing, Lindsey Halligan indicted former FBI Director James Comey.
The Justice Department fired high-ranking prosecutor Maya Song after top national security prosecutor Michael Ben’Ary was axed.
Michael Ben’Ary whined in a letter to colleagues after he was fired and encouraged them to continue to defy Trump appointees.
More indictments – and more firings – on coming down soon.
