iPhone X owners complain that their £1000 handset can’t accept incoming calls
A number of iPhone X owners have taken to Apple’s Support Forums to complain that their £1,000 smartphone can’t accept incoming calls.
Customers are complaining that they are unable to answer incoming calls on their iPhone X because the screen doesn’t turn on for several seconds when the handset starts ringing, leaving the ‘accept’ and ‘decline’ buttons nowhere to be seen.
“Whenever I receive an incoming call in my iPhone X, ringtone starts but the display comes on after 6-8 seconds,” one user explained. “Whenever I restart my iPhone X the problem is solved and after 15-20 calls the problem starts again.”

Apple told The Financial Times that it’s aware of the issue, though it didn’t cast a light on what’s causing it or when it will be fixed. All we know is that it’s “looking into” the reports posted on its Support Forums – some of which date back to December.

Last week, it was revealed that Apple’s software engineering chief Craig Federighi decided to bench the impending visual overhaul for iOS, which was expected to debut in iOS 12, so it can focus its attention on addressing performance issues.

The I.D. Vizzion challenges everything you think you know about Volkswagen
When you think Volkswagen, you tend to think Summer of Love campers, or, more recently, Top Gear-loving boy racers tearing it up in their Golf GTIs.
If you’re more environmentally minded, perhaps the association is the horrendous emissions scandal that still stains the German auto giant’s reputation?
Regardless, the name Volkswagen doesn’t always conjure imagery of the fully-electric, fully-autonomous future of the automobile.
However, the new I.D. Vizzion concept sedan, which is coming to the Geneva Motor Show next month, has our future-gazing Spidey-senses tingling.
Related: Meet the Volkswagen electric minibus

The car has no pedals and no steering wheel and an 111kWh battery that’ll take drivers 413 miles on a single charge. That’s the distance between London and Edinburgh.
The I.D. Vizzion can hit a top speed of 112mph, while it’ll kick out the equivalent off 302 horsepower.
The Vizzion is the latest member of the I.D. family, but this is the first to be fully-autonomous, with VW claiming it’ll enable “passengers to freely structure their time during the drive.”

It also includes a digital chauffeur, which sounds a little like an Alexa assistant designed just your car, which will respond to your voice and gestures.

As well as being the first autonomous offering in the series, it’s also the longest I.D. car yet at 5.11-metres and includes four individual seats.
The I.D. series is part of Volkswagen’s promise to bring more than 25 electric vehicles to market by 2025. It’s not exactly flower power, but it should go a fair way to helping us forget the company’s dirty past.

ARM wants to kill the SIM card and it could lead to bigger smartphone batteries
Smartphone manufacturers are so desperate to save space within phones they’ve risked a revolt by ditching the 3.5mm audio jack.
Instead of sacrificing a piece of functionality still deemed vital to many customers, wouldn’t it be better to jettison something we’d rather not concern ourselves with in the first place?
Enter silicon designer ARM, which has announced plans to integrate SIM cards within the processor that powers devices.
The new iSIM design takes up a “fraction of a millimeter squared” within the device, according to ARM (via The Verge).
Compare that to the Nano SIM cards, which are 12.3 x 8.8mm and require more space for the housing.
The tech is similar to the eSIM tech Apple has used within the iPad and the Apple Watch, that allows users to access network connectivity and switch between carriers without switching cards.
The new Google Pixel phones also features an eSIM, which, although smaller than the Nano SIM, still takes up 6 x 5mm of space within the phone.
Related: What is an eSIM?
Conceivably the iSIM could be used to create more room for a larger battery or biometric sensors, for instance.
IoT firstHowever, ARM’s initial plan isn’t to go straight for the smartphone jugular.
It’s focusing on small Internet of Things devices like wireless sensors. It hopes the iSIM will bring down the cost of these products to assist manufacturers with the proliferation of the IoT infrastructure.

ARM says it has facilitated its partners with the plans, who could then choose to adopt the iSIM when building processors from ARM’s architecture.
Once manufacturers get a sense of the benefits, it’s conceivable this tech could be broadened out to other devices, including smartphones.

This new Android feature will be an absolute game-changer
Android apps will soon update in the background while you’re using them, Google revealed at its annual Android developer summit.
During the event, the company showcased the new In-App Updates API, which will be rolled out to Android developers in the near future. Effectively, it’s a way of poking users into owning the latest version of the app, which can be important in terms of stability, security and access to the latest features.
The so-called flexible update will be customisable so, as far as users are concerned, it’s part of the normal flow of using the app. The update will then be applied the next time the user starts-up the app.
Google is also introducing a new mechanism for more urgent updates that will present users with a full-screen experience, with those updates applied instantly. The differences between the two approaches can be seen below.
[image error]Advertisement
This could be good if there’s a critical security update and users are simply too lazy to visit the Play Store to update the app, and don’t have automatic updates turned on. Some Android users may see this as forcing them into updating, but Google says users will be able to skip the update if they so desire.

In a post on the Android developers blog, Stephanie Cuthbertson, Android’s Director of Product Management wrote: “You’ll have two options with this API; the first is a full-screen experience for critical updates when you expect the user to wait for the update to be applied immediately. The second option is a flexible update, which means the user can keep using the app while the update is downloaded. You can completely customize the update flow so it feels like part of your app.”
In the blog post Google also outlined how its is adjusting Android to account for Samsung’s next-generation foldable displays. During the Samsung SDC 2018 keynote Google made an appearance to announce support, but Cuthbertson goes into more detail here.
She added: “When unfolded, their defining feature is what we call screen continuity. For example, start a video with the folded smaller screen – and later you can sit down and unfold the device to get a larger tablet-sized screen for a beautiful, immersive experience.
“As you unfold, the app seamlessly transfers to the bigger screen without missing a beat. We’re optimizing Android for this new form factor. And, making changes to help developers everywhere take advantage of the possibilities this creates for amazing new experiences, new ways to engage and delight your users.”

JB Pritzker Tells Rachel Maddow Trump is Going to Use the Military to STEAL BALLOT BOXES During the 2026 Midterms (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
In case you haven’t noticed, Democrats are absolutely terrified that they are not going to win the 2026 midterms.
How can we tell? Simple. They keep going on TV and making up wild conspiracy theories about how Trump is going to steal the elections.
Rob Reiner is doing it. Joy Behar is doing it. And Illinois Governor JB Pritzker is doing it.
Pritzker just went on MSNBC and told Rachel Maddow that President Trump is going to use the U.S. Military to CONFISCATE ballot boxes during the 2026 midterms in order to rig the election to benefit himself. These people are insane and they are making crazy leftists dangerous.
Partial transcript via Breitbart News:
Pritzker said, “The broader goal, I believe, is the militarization of major American cities before the 2026 elections. Let me be clear about what’s going on on the streets of Chicago. They have dressed ICE and CBP in fatigues, put them in military gear, including with automatic weapons, and had them marching up and down major streets in downtown Chicago.
It’s a signal that they’re trying to send that it’s okay to have troops on your street, that this would be a welcome thing for for people who live in Chicago. Nobody here welcomes it, by the way. I mean, literally as they’re walking down the street, people are yelling at them, but they think they can get people used to the idea.”
He added, “Next year, I fear that what they’re going to do is deploy these folks eventually to polling places and say they’re protecting the vote. Donald Trump knows that without shenanigans and without this, these breaches of the Constitution, that he’s going to lose the Congress.
And if he loses, he’s going to immediately in the aftermath of the election, do what he said he might do in 2020, which is use the military to confiscate the ballot boxes and count the votes, claiming that there’s fraud.
Here’s the clip:
JB Pritzker goes full election denier, says Trump will “use the military to confiscate ballot boxes” and steal the midterms pic.twitter.com/qza9dT1RNu
— Breitbart News (@BreitbartNews) October 7, 2025
This is nothing new. Pritzker made similar comments about the 2026 midterms in September.
These are the same people who have spent years accusing Republicans of being conspiracy theorists for various reasons. Now that they are scared of losing another election, they are continually attempting to out-crazy each other on national television.
Trump Goes SCORCHED EARTH on Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal, Demands Investigation Into Lies About His Vietnam War Military Service | The Gateway Pundit
President Trump went scorched earth on Democrat Senator Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal and called for him to be investigated for lying about his military service in Vietam.
Stolen Valor Blumenthal, for decades, lied about being a ‘war hero’ in the Vietnam War.
Blumenthal did not serve in Vietnam. In fact, he joined the Marine Corps Reserve and received five draft deferments according to military records.
After Blumenthal was exposed for lying about his Vietnam War service, he came out and absurdly claimed that he had merely “misspoken” and really meant to say that he served “during the Vietnam era.”
It was all a lie, and now President Trump wants Blumenthal investigated for lying about his military service.
“Sanctimonious Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal, perhaps the biggest “joke” in the United States Senate, is at it again! “Dick” lied until the midpoint of his political career, convincing everyone, in particular the Fake News Media, that he was a great “War Hero” who lived on the precipice of death in the jungles of Vietnam. He would talk about his life in the military in almost every speech, in particular the death defying dangers he faced in his many years “fight for freedom” while in Vietnam. He stated that “the battles were violent and long, but there was no going back” – And then it happened, Blumenthal was found out to be a FRAUD,” Trump said on Truth Social.
“The soldiers in his so-called “platoon” came forward and said that they had no idea who this guy was. He was revealed, broke down and admitted, tears flowing from his eyes, that he LIED, a Whopper, one that lasted 20 year. This guy shouldn’t even be in the U.S. Senate. It should be investigated, and Justice should be sought. Right now there is a Congressman sitting in prison for lying about his past during a campaign. Well, those lies were nothing compared to those of Richard “Da Nang Dick” Blumenthal, perhaps the greatest phony in the history of the United States Senate. He should be allowed to speak no longer!” Trump said.
Trump turned his ire toward Blumenthal on Tuesday evening after US Attorney General Pam Bondi demolished the Democrat Senator during a testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Blumenthal suggested Pam Bondi participated in a backdoor deal to help her former law firm partner get a favorable outcome in a lawsuit.
Bondi went off on Blumenthal.
“I cannot believe that you would accuse me of impropriety when you lied about your military service!” Bondi shouted. “You lied to be elected a US Senator.”
“Don’t you ever challenge my integrity. I have abided by every ethics standard. Do not question my ability to be fair and impartial as Attorney General,” she said.

Mark Halperin Slams Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer: ‘Never in My Career Have I Seen Two Leaders so Dismissed’ (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
Journalist Mark Halperin is not impressed with what he is seeing from Democrat leaders Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer.
If this is any indication of how most of the public feels, and it probably is, Trump should stick to his guns on the shutdown. Jeffries and Schumer are useless, even to their own party.
Note that Halperin says they aren’t even getting the usual level of support from the media, which is very telling.
has details:
Political analyst Mark Halperin on “The Morning Meeting” Friday named Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries his “losers of the week” amid the ongoing government shutdown.
Schumer and Jeffries met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Monday to discuss a short-term spending bill to prevent a government shutdown, but they did not reach an agreement. Halperin said during his show’s “losers of the week” segment that neither the media nor Democrats had confidence in Schumer and Jeffries.
“Never in my career have I seen two leaders so dismissed, not just by the media, which normally loves Democrats, but privately by Democratic members of the House and Senate,” Halperin said. “People are just rolling their eyes and throwing their hands up and saying, ‘There’s nothing we can do. We’re not going to depose them now, but they are not leading us’ in the view of Democrats saying that ‘they’re not leading through this confrontation.’”
“I’ve never seen the senior Democrats in both chambers — or Republicans — I’ve never seen attitude like this,” he added.

This shutdown is going to completely backfire on Schumer and Democrats.
Schumer Shutdown Rumor
The Democrats continue to hold America hostage, as they attempt to save Senator Schumer from getting primaried by AOC.
Rumor is that “Russ the Reaper” is going to roll back government size by 10%, taking it to 2019 levels pre-Biden at day 66.

Schumer is using a playbook that is outdated by at least a decade and Jeffries is completely unimpressive as Minority House Leader.
They are going to lose this battle.
Katie Porter Has Bizarre Meltdown During California Governor Candidate Interview (Video) | The Gateway Pundit
Democrat former Rep. Katie Porter, running for California governor, had a bizarre meltdown during a pre-recorded interview with CBS Sacramento affiliate KOVR-TV reporter Julie Watts that was released Monday and went viral Tuesday.
Photo via Katie Porter for GovernorPorter served three terms in Congress, from 2019 to 2025, leaving her House seat to run what turned out to be a losing Senate bid in the 2024 jungle primary. Porter, who became notable for her use of a whiteboard in House hearings, is currently the leading candidate for governor–polling around 20 percent support in a crowded field of Democrats, Republicans, third party and independents.
Watts interviewed eleven candidates running in next year’s jungle primary for governor to be held on June 2. The two top vote getters regardless of party advance to the general election on November 3, 2026.
The candidates were asked the same questions, with Porter melting down over being asked if she needs the votes of the forty percent of Californians who voted for President Donald Trump last year.
The video report on the candidate interviews was released Monday. A preview of the Porter interview that was edited right before the meltdown–but shows her laughing at the idea she would need any Trump supporter’s vote to win–was released in mid-September:
When Katie Porter is our next governor here in CA, it will make us long for the days of the evil Gavin Newsom. She’s a lot like him, only dumber.
How are Democrats not enraged that she overtly states here that she plans to make sure she runs in the general against a Republican?! pic.twitter.com/oc9hmVQ5kC
— John Ziegler (@Zigmanfreud) September 19, 2025
In the longer segment released Monday, Porter threatened to walk out, saying she did not want to have an “unhappy experience with you and I don’t want this on camera.” The reporter Julie Watts tried to calm down Porter–who at one point raised her hands to Watts–assuring her that she too did not want to have an “unhappy experience.”
It was a bizarre scene, like in a movie where the nurse is trying to calm the agitated mental patient in the psyche ward before she picks up a tray and bashes her in the head.

Indeed, a 2023 New York Post report about Porter’s ex-husband filing for divorce in 2013 shows he accused her of pouring scalding hot mashed potatoes on his head during an argument (excerpt):
Rep. Katie Porter scalded ex-husband’s scalp with potatoes: documents https://t.co/PRd2wH08sE pic.twitter.com/AKYXS6juFO
— New York Post (@nypost) April 13, 2023
The former husband of Rep. Katie Porter said the California Democrat frequently abused him verbally and threw “toys, books and other objects” at him during their marriage — even pouring scalding-hot mashed potatoes on his head during a fight, according to divorce records.
Matthew Hoffman, who filed for divorce from Porter in 2013, said in a request for a restraining order dated April 30 of that year that he was “routinely” called a “f—ing idiot” and “f—ing incompetent” by his rage-prone spouse, who also shattered a glass coffee pot on their kitchen counter in March 2012 when she felt their house wasn’t clean enough.
…In 2006, Hoffman said, Porter took issue with how Hoffman was preparing mashed potatoes for dinner, asking him: “Can’t you read the f—ing instructions!” Then, her ex-husband said, Porter raised a “ceramic bowl of steaming hot potatoes and dumped it on my head, burning my scalp.”
A Newsweek report published August 27 on the California governor’s race showed Porter was leading the crowded field in two August polls (excerpt):
Republican candidates running in the California gubernatorial primary are hoping to make the race for the mansion competitive in the solidly Democratic state, as a new poll from the University of California, Berkeley and The Los Angeles Times showed a large number of voters remain undecided.
No candidate has support from a clear majority of voters in the new poll, but former Democratic Representative Katie Porter led the pack with 17 percent backing. Republican Chad Bianco, who serves as the sheriff of Riverside County, follows with 10 percent.
Former Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, a Democrat, held support from 9 percent of respondents, while 6 percent supported conservative commentator Steve Hilton. Two other Democrats—former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and businessman Rick Caruso, who has not formally announced a campaign—each held support from 4 percent of voters.
Thirty-eight percent of respondents said they’re still undecided about who they would support.
…A Citrin Center/Politico poll earlier in August showed Porter with 21 percent, Bianco with 15 percent, Hilton with 10 percent and both Becerra and Villaraigosa with 9 percent…
Emerson College released a new poll September 19 that showed Porter maintaining her lead:
In the 2026 Primary for Governor, former Representative Katie Porter leads with 16% support, followed by Republican Steve Hilton at 10%, Republican Sheriff Chad Bianco at 8%, and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra at 5%. A plurality of voters, 38%, remain undecided. Since August, support for Porter and Hilton has decreased by two points, respectively, while support for Bianco increased one point, and support for Becerra increased two points.
The release of Porter’s meltdown interview came a day after she was endorsed by the pro-abortion PAC Emily’s List:
Grateful to have @emilyslist by my side in this campaign. Now more than ever, we need leaders with backbone who will cut through the BS and deliver for families.
And there’s nothing that Donald Trump hates more than facing down a strong, powerful woman. https://t.co/xdYtzCt7JI
— Katie Porter (@katieporteroc) October 7, 2025
The complete CBS Sacramento candidates interviews report by Julie Watts:
Excerpt from the KOVR report says Porter stayed to finish the interview:
Porter, who has represented a swing district in Orange County, was the only candidate to refuse to directly answer the question, taking issue with the premise that she might need republican voters to win.
“How would I need them in order to win?” Porter asked. “If it is me versus a Republican, I think that I will win the people who did not vote for Trump.”
As several of her opponents noted, in California’s top-two open primary system, Republican voters could help put a Democratic candidate over the top.
Porter then threatened to call off the interview, taking issue with too many follow-up questions. She ultimately stayed and continued answering questions.
UPDATE: Reporter Julie Watts posted a version with duel camera shots after her interview with Porter went viral:

Kash Patel Addresses Rumors of Comey’s “Showy” Arrest | The Gateway Pundit
FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche addressed rumors of Comey’s “showy” arrest during an exclusive interview with Fox News on Tuesday.
Former FBI Director James Comey will be arraigned at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
A grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia indicted Comey last month. He was indicted on two counts – false statements and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.
Comey’s case was assigned to US District Judge Michael Nachmanoff, a Biden appointee.
Rumors began swirling that the FBI was reportedly weighing a “showy” arrest of James Comey.
The rumors started after Reuters reported on Friday that an FBI Agent was fired for refusing to arrest and perp walk James Comey.
Per Reuters: “An FBI agent was relieved of duty for declining to arrange a “perp walk” of the bureau’s former director, James Comey, in front of news media cameras after Comey was federally charged last month, four people briefed on the matter said on Friday.”
According to CBS News, the FBI was considering arresting James Comey with “large, beefy” agents in Kevlar vests before his arraignment.
Kash Patel brushed off the rumors and said reports of a ‘showy’ Comey arrest was a distraction.
Todd Blanche called it “gossip.”
Fox News reported:
Top Department of Justice officials brushed off rumors on Tuesday that James Comey would be arrested and paraded in front of the media, providing their remarks on the former FBI director’s court case one day before his scheduled arraignment.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News Digital in a sit-down interview at the FBI Chicago Field Office that media reports about a possible camera-ready Comey arrest, sometimes known as a perp walk, were mere distractions.
“We conduct arrests, the FBI conducts arrests at every courthouse in this country every single day of the year,” Blanche said, calling the rumors about Comey’s circumstances “gossip.”
“Mr. Comey has been directed to appear, and I expect that he will. But the noise from MSNBC and from retired agents or unnamed anonymous sources about perp walks is just that,” Blanche said. “It’s just noise.”
“If convicted, Comey faces up to five years in prison. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors,” the DOJ said.
Senate Republicans Just Confirmed More Than 100 Trump Nominees Despite the Schumer Shutdown (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
The Schumer Shutdown is not stopping the confirmation of Trump nominees. Senate Republicans just finished confirming more than 100 of them.
This has got to be driving Democrats completely crazy.
Not only are they losing the optics battle during this shutdown, they’re not stopping Trump’s agenda from moving forward.
FOX News reports:
Senate Republicans confirm more than 100 Trump nominees as government shutdown continues
Senate Republicans confirmed a staggering tranche of President Donald Trump’s nominees on Tuesday as the government shutdown continues.
Lawmakers voted along party lines to confirm the batch of 107 of Trump’s nominees, a move that whittled down the remaining pending nominees on the Senate’s calendar to double digits. It also came as the upper chamber was deadlocked in the midst of a government shutdown, during which floor votes have largely been dedicated to trying to reopen the government.
The slate of confirmed nominees included many of Trump’s top allies and former candidates that he hand-picked to run in previous elections.
Some of the most recognizable on the list were former Republican Senate candidate and ex-NFL star Herschel Walker, who was tapped as the U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas, and Sergio Gor, a top advisor to Trump who he picked to be his U.S. Ambassador to India.
Other posts confirmed included a wave of senior administration officials, several prosecutors and the reappointment of Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins to a seat on the commission until 2031.

Axios is reporting that Trump has now surpassed Joe Biden in confirming nominees:
Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) hyped the Senate’s progress on confirming Trump nominees during a closed-door lunch on Tuesday.
Why it matters: Thanks to new rules through the “nuclear option,” the Senate confirmed another big batch of nominees Tuesday evening — putting them ahead of tallies at the same point under the Biden and first Trump administrations.
By the numbers: Barrasso compared the nominee confirmation numbers of the past few administrations, in a presentation slide obtained by Axios.
The total number of Trump 2.0 confirmations is now at 298 after Tuesday’s votes.
That’s more than the 201 nominees confirmed at this point under former President Biden, and the 183 confirmations at this point in Trump’s first term.
More confirmed nominees for Trump means more of his agenda is getting done.
