JD Vance to Join Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA Mega Event: ‘I’m Gonna Do Exactly What Charlie Did’ | The Gateway Pundit
Vice President J.D. Vance announced Wednesday that he will be appearing at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi on Oct. 29.
Erika Kirk, the widow of slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, will also appear at the Oxford, Mississippi, campus.
“Part of keeping Charlie’s memory alive is keeping the mission alive,” Vance said in a video posted to X.
“And nobody can replace Charlie, but if we all just sort of take little pieces, we can do as much as we can to ensure that Charlie’s mission continues to survive long after he’s gone. And part of that is these college campus tours,” he said on “The Charlie Kirk Show.”

— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) October 15, 2025
“I’m going to do exactly what Charlie did,” he said.
“My plan is to give a little speech, talk a little bit about the issues of the day, but turn most of it over to just do Q&A with the audience. I want to hear from these kids, I want to answer questions from them.”
Vance said Kirk made connections by engaging in give-and-take with students of all stripes.
“I want to do what Charlie did because I think that engaged them. It was something that was such a big part of Charlie’s legacy,” he said.
“It’s not just that he went and talked to people or talked about issues he cared about. It’s that he actually interacted with people.”
“He would answer tough questions from the left and from the right, and so I want to do that too,” Vance said.
The event at Ole Miss will be the only one at which Erika Kirk will make an appearance.
Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet said Erika Kirk needs time to grieve for her assassinated husband, according to Fox News.
Vance said striking a balance is essential for Kirk’s widow as she raises their family alone.
“I hope that she continues to kind of yes, keep Charlie’s mission alive, and yes, do everything you guys are doing at Turning Point USA, but I also hope that she continues to grieve a little bit and to carve out some time for her and her family,” Vance said.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump honored Charlie Kirk with a posthumous presentation of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
In a proclamation declaring Oct. 14 a National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk, Trump wrote, “Every day, Charlie devoted himself to a set of simple causes: Defending the truth, encouraging debate, and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was gracious and articulate beyond measure, always welcomed opposing perspectives, and never deviated from his noble goal of bridging our political, cultural, and philosophical divides.”
“In Charlie’s absence, we are now tasked with continuing his mission of giving voice to our cherished American ideals with confidence and clarity. Like him, we must not flinch in the face of darkness and hostility — and we must never waver in speaking the truth with joyful and steadfast resolve,” Trump wrote.

EPIC! Former Capitol Police Chief Steve Sund Confronts Pelosi on Her Lies About January 6th and Drops the Receipts | The Gateway Pundit
Earlier today, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi unloaded on Lindell TV reporter Alison Steinberg today on the steps of the US Capitol after she was confronted on her deadly actions on January 6, 2021.
Lindell TV reporter Alison Steinberg asked Pelosi why she refused to call in the National Guard on January 6th and Pelosi started screaming – “SHUT UP!”
Alison Steinberg: “Congresswoman Pelosi, are you at all concerned that the January 6th Committee will find you liable for that? Are at all concerned about the January 6th Committee finding you liable for that day? Why did you refuse the National Guard on January 6th?
Nancy Pelosi (obviously annoyed) “SHUT UP! I did not refuse the National Guard. The President didn’t send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you are a serious journalist.
Alison Steinberg: The American people want to know! We still have questions!

As reported earlier Pelosi was lying here about the National Guard.
Footage was released in June 2024 from the House Oversight Committee of Nancy Pelosi taking responsibility for the January 6, 2021, protests and rioting at the US Capitol.
Nancy Pelosi: “I take responsibility.”

And in June 2024, John Solomon at Just the News reported that Nancy Pelosi’s top security aides received warnings about a potential Capitol breach the night before the January 6 protests.
Pelosi could have called in the National Guard. She decided not to.
January 6 was always a set-up. And the evidence confirms that Pelosi was in on it.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser were both warned about the security situation prior to January 6th, and they both turned down National Guard troops at the US Capitol that day.
Pelosi and Mayor Muriel Bowser turned down thousands of National Guard troops at the Capitol on January 6 for political reasons.
Chris Wray’s FBI also refused to notify the Trump administration and his cabinet secretaries that they believed there could be violence like the mass protests at the Capitol that took place that day.
Nancy Pelosi also refused the National Guard at the US Capitol due to “politics,” but that is just her excuse. What did she know in advance?
Capitol Police Chief Steve Sund previously testified that he asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup.
But they both turned him down.
On Wednesday, after her latest denial to the press, Officer Steve Sund responded to Nancy Pelosi’s latest lies about January 6th and brought the receipts.
Chief Sund wrote: “Ma’am, let me help refresh your memory. It was your Sergeant at Arms (SAA) who repeatedly denied my multiple requests for National Guard assistance before and on January 6. Even on Jan 6, your Sergeant at Arms denied my urgent requests for over 70 minutes, while he was “running it up the chain” for your approval. The Pentagon offered National Guard assistance, but I had to decline because your SAA would not grant me the legal authority as required under federal law (2 U.S.C. §1970).”
Chief Sund then posted this list of the times he called Pelosi’s Sergeant of Arms to request the National Guard. Chief Sund was turned down each time.
Timeline of Chief Sund’s requests for National Guard support detailing dates, times, and responses from various officials, highlighting approvals and denials.Sund pointed out to the world that Nancy Pelosi is lying about her actions that day.
If Pelosi would have approved the National Guard at the Capitol lives would have been saved and their would have been no rioting.
Pelosi is as deceitful as she is rotten.

Senator Fetterman Hits His Party Over Extreme Rhetoric, the Government Shutdown (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
Senator John Fetterman is unlike any other member of his party. During a recent event with hosts from News Nation, he explained why he refuses to use the extreme rhetoric that is used by other Democrats.
He says that many of his family members voted for Trump and that they are obviously not fascists.
He also reminds the audience how close we came to losing Trump to a shooter because of this type of rhetoric.
Via the Vigilant Fox on Twitter/X:
“I know and I love people who voted for President Trump. They are NOT fascists, they’re NOT Nazis, they’re NOT trying to destroy the Constitution.”
“I REFUSE to call people Nazis or fascists. I would never compare anybody — anybody to Hitler.”
“Like Charlie Kirk, all I could say is let people grieve — give people the space. I’m not going to use that terrible thing and that assassination to make my argument and try to put out my views.”
“It’s like, my God, he’s a father that had his neck blown out by a bullet. And now people have forgotten: President Trump was in my state — was shot in the head. Could you imagine where our nation would be if he were hit in the same way as Kirk? We really got to turn the temperature down.”
Watch:
John Fetterman brings the Kennedy Center to complete silence as he delivers this emotional message on stage:
“I know and I love people who voted for President Trump. They are NOT fascists, they’re NOT Nazis, they’re NOT trying to destroy the Constitution.”

— Vigilant Fox (@VigilantFox) October 16, 2025
During the same event, Fetterman talked about the shutdown.
From The Hill:
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) has criticized Democrats over the government shutdown, adding that discussions on health care subsidies can take place when the government is funded.
“I follow country, then party,” Fetterman said at the Kennedy Center on Wednesday night during NewsNation’s live town hall.
Fetterman said some of his constituents are angry with him over the shutdown and the state of the war between Israel and Hamas prior to the recent ceasefire.
“I would love to have a conversation on health care [subsidies],” Fetterman said. “But [the shutdown] is wrong for the country … . I can’t vote for shutting the government down.”
Fetterman was one of three members of the Senate Democratic Conference to vote for a Republican-backed proposal to fund the government through Nov. 21, along with Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.) and Angus King (Maine), an independent who caucuses with Democrats.
It’s just amazing that Fetterman is the most rational and reasonable member of his party.
