Three Former Attorneys General File Brief Insisting Trump is Constitutionally Qualified to Appear on Ballot | The Gateway Pundit

Three former attorneys general, including Bill Barr who is not even supporting Trump in 2024, have filed a brief insisting that Trump is constitutionally qualified to appear on the ballot.

This move comes as a response to the efforts in Colorado, Maine and other states where leftists have sought to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot.

The argument of these former AGs was drafted with the help of law professors and is rock solid.

Breitbart News reports:

Former Attorneys General File Amicus Brief Insisting Trump Constitutionally Qualified for Ballot

Three former U.S. attorneys general — including Bill Barr, who does not support Donald Trump’s campaign for the Republican nomination — insist that Trump is constitutionally qualified to be on the presidential ballot, in a U.S. Supreme Court brief their lawyers filed on Thursday.

Along with Barr, former Republican Attorneys General Edwin Meese III and Michael B. Mukasey, as well as several law professors, comprised the amicus in the Trump v. Anderson brief. After the Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 4-3 decision that Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment, colloquially known as the “Insurrection Clause,” bars Trump from the ballot, his legal team and the Republican Party of Colorado challenged the effort.

The brief, filed by counsel Gene Schaerr of Schaerr Jaffe LLP, argues that the Colorado court’s decision is a “misrepresentation” of the clause and, if upheld, the “ruling would create a precedent with ruinous consequences for our democratic republic.”

This is the core of their argument:

This is evident in Section 3’s text, which omits the President, instead specifying certain offices such as Senator and Representative. Earlier versions of the proposed text included President and Vice President, but later versions excluded those offices, and instead disqualified presidential electors who would choose the occupants of the presidential and vice presidential offices.

What the left is trying to do is transparently ridiculous.

They claim they’re trying to ‘save democracy’ as they actively work to destroy it.

Is Warhammer 40k coming to Call of Duty? Leak suggests this might be epic

What do you get if you cross the amazing gaming worlds of Call of Duty and Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40k? Something that could be amazing that’s what.

Call of Duty’s Season 1 Reloaded update recently went live soi, as per usual, data miners immediately dug deep into the files, loading screen art featuring a could of MW3 operators bedecked like Warhammer 40k grunts.

This has only just started circulating on X fully but Semtex Leaks s has put together a decent-sized list of, not only the artwork, but icons, skins, and data that suggests strongly that a full Warhammer 40k event is coming to Call of Duty. If true, this would be a pretty major collaboration. Warhammer 40k is huge right now with a surge in popularity among video gamers after games such as Darktide and Rogue Trader in the last year have propelled it more in the digital space.

🚨WARHAMMER x #MW3 CROSSOVER🚨

In the upcoming Warhammer x @CallofDuty crossover, the Baton Jailer, Swamp Monster (Fenbeast), Orgre Butcher and Mummy will make an appearance in-game! pic.twitter.com/d713AASfhD

— Semtex (@SemtexLeaks) January 17, 2024

From the leak, it looks as though we will also be getting new animations including one for a chainsaw – a favored weapon of the Warhammer Space Marines. There are snippets of code there that show items and how they will work in the game. It’s unclear how all this will fit into Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone at this stage but it’s a safe bet it will be hugely popular for fans of both camps.

Call of Duty is not a complete stranger to crossover events with a Diablo one already in the bag, but they are both Activision Blizzard games so it was seen as more obvious than this one perhaps.

One thing we can probably count on though is that to get the coolest Warhammer 40k skins on our operators means it is going to cost us. You better start saving up for those in-game transactions folks.

Remember though, it is a leak and not confirmed news, so we all know what that could mean.

Google Pixel Tablet problems and how to fix them

Google’s return to the tablet space with the Pixel Tablet received a lot of attention. Combined with the included charging dock, the tablet could also take up hub duties when not in use, which is one of its biggest highlights. Solid performance, a good display, and Google’s software prowess make for a well-rounded tablet. However, like any tech, the Pixel Tablet has its share of bugs and glitches. Here’s a look at some common Pixel Tablet problems and how to fix them.

Editor’s note: Not every Pixel Tablet will have these problems. In fact, it’s more than likely that your Pixel Tablet will not have any issues at all.

Problem #1: Battery not charging using the dock

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

Some users say that their Pixel Tablet doesn’t charge when placed on the dock. For some, the tablet stops charging at the 90 percent mark, which is a feature and not a bug, but something you can bypass. For others, the tablet doesn’t charge at all.

Potential solutions:

The Pixel Tablet only charges 90 percent when on the dock to protect the battery. It’s a built-in feature that you can bypass, though. Go to Settings > Battery and select Charge to full. Similarly, if your charging is set to “Optimize for battery health,” the tablet will only charge 70 or 80 percent. You can disable the setting and bypass it by selecting “Charge to full.” However, this is just temporary, with the tablet automatically activating the feature again when the tablet is undocked and docked again. The tablet should charge to 100 percent when plugged into a wired charger. If the Pixel Tablet doesn’t charge at all, ensure that you are lining it up properly. It should start charging automatically if the tablet is placed on the dock correctly. If there’s no charge, undock the tablet and disconnect the speaker dock from the plug point. Plug it back in and wait for some time to make sure that the charger is on, or listen for the chime. If you don’t hear a chime and aren’t sure if the dock is getting power, press and hold the circular button at the bottom for around ten seconds until you hear the reset chime. Also, check that there isn’t any debris or smudges blocking the charging pins on the dock and the tablet. You might have to clean both to get the tablet to charge.Place the tablet back on the dock and see if it’s charging. If the speaker dock is still not charging the device and isn’t working in general (if the tablet doesn’t switch to hub mode or doesn’t play audio), you will have to send it in for repair or get a replacement.

Problem #2: Display problemsgoogle pixel tablet homescreen

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

A few Pixel Tablet owners face problems with the device’s display not working, with the issues ranging from ghost touches on the screen to a frozen and unresponsive display.

Potential solutions:

Users complain about ghost touches on the screen, causing problems with scrolling, navigation, and random app launches. This is likely related to the screen protector you’re using. Some users say that reducing the touch sensitivity helps, even if you use a screen protector. Go to Settings > Display and toggle off Screen Protector mode if it is enabled. Try and also keep the display free of oily smudges from fingerprints. In some cases, this ended up being a hardware problem, and the only option was to get a replacement. If your screen is frozen and unresponsive, you can perform a forced restart. Press and hold the power button and volume up key for ten to fifteen seconds until the screen turns off. Wait until the tablet automatically restarts.A frozen screen or laggy performance could be because of a rogue app. Check if the issue persists when the tablet is in Safe Mode (you’ll find the instructions on how to boot into Safe Mode below). If an app is the problem, uninstall any recently installed or updated apps to see if the issue goes away.

Problem #3: Voice recognition not working in Hub Modegoogle pixel tablet assistant set timer

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

Some users say that the voice recognition doesn’t work when the tablet is docked and in Hub Mode. While the tablet recognizes the “Hey Google” command, subsequent instructions often require multiple attempts.

Potential solutions:

The easiest way to get around the issue is to restart the Pixel Tablet after you set up Hub Mode. Once you go through the steps, undock the tablet and restart it. Place it on the speaker dock once it restarts, and voice recognition should work as expected. Some users say that the problem goes away when on the latest beta version of Android 14. However, keep in mind that beta versions will likely have bugs and glitches that might cause other problems.

Fixed problems/Problems where the only option is to wait for a software updategoogle pixel tablet update

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

The Pixel Tablet suffered from a slew of bugs and glitches after launch, with many of them sticking around for months. However, the November and December updates addressed a lot of these issues. The December Pixel Feature Drop also added new features to the tablet, like Clear Calling and Spatial Audio with head tracking. Ensure that you update your Pixel Tablet to the latest version of Android. That said, there are still a few bugs included in the list below that don’t have workarounds, and the only option is to wait for a future software update.

Issues with multiple user accounts: The Pixel Tablet had lots of problems when multiple users were signed into the device using their respective Google accounts. This ranged from voice recognition problems to gesture navigation completely breaking after switching accounts. The November and December updates include fixes for some of these issues. The only other option is to restart the tablet after switching accounts to temporarily work around the problem. Not able to access media storage: This was another issue caused by multiple user accounts but is serious enough to deserve its own mention. The November update included a fix. However, users who were stuck in a boot loop because of this problem had to go through a different set of steps, with only partial data recovery possible in some cases. If you still face this problem, update your Pixel Tablet, and check out the necessary steps to address the boot loop issue.Mouse not working on Google Chrome: Anyone using a mouse with the Pixel Tablet noticed that it didn’t work across half the screen when using the Chrome browser. The only option was to use an alternate browser. But it was a known bug and should now be fixed.Unable to set up Hub Mode: Quite a few users had problems setting up Hub Mode. Despite going through all the steps, the setup screen would appear every time the tablet was docked, or nothing would load after completing the setup. The only workaround in this case was to factory reset the tablet.Commands not working until the tablet is unlocked: Another known bug was the fact that the tablet wouldn’t run a command instruction until the device was unlocked, which defeated the purpose of issuing a voice command from a distance. This included setting timers and alarms, playing music, and more. The issue should now be fixed.

Guide – How to setup full-screen apps on the Pixel Tabletgoogle pixel tablet case kickstand typing

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

The December Pixel feature drop includes an easy way to change an app’s aspect ratio, giving users to set apps to full-screen mode. Go to Settings > Apps > Aspect Ratio. Select the app and pick an option between Full-screen, Half-screen, and 4:3.

You will have to do this individually for every app you want to use in full-screen. Also, something to remember is that this will likely only stretch an app to fit the tablet screen and won’t bring any additional functionality or features to the app. The latter will only be possible after an app developer optimizes their apps for large-screen tablet usage.

Guide – How to boot into Safe Mode and how to Factory Reset the Pixel Tabletgoogle pixel tablet power button fingerprint sensor 2

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority

How to boot the Pixel Tablet into Safe Mode

If the tablet is on, press and hold the power button to open the power options, then long-press the power off icon. Tap to confirm on the pop-up message to reboot the device into Safe Mode.

If the tablet is off, press and hold the power button to start it, and then press the volume down button when the animation starts. Hold the volume down key until the animation ends, and the tablet should automatically open in Safe Mode.

You can exit Safe Mode by simply restarting the Pixel Tablet.

How to Factory Reset the Pixel Tablet

Go to Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options and select Erase all data (factory reset). Enter your PIN  or pattern and tap Erase Everything.

Press and hold the power button and volume down key together until Fastboot mode (triangle icon with an exclamation point) appears. If you see “No command,” press and hold the power button. While holding the power button, press the volume up key once and release both.

Once in Recovery mode, use the volume keys to navigate up and down the menu. Go to Wipe data/factory reset and press the power button to confirm. Tap the power button to select Reboot system now after the phone is reset to factory settings.

UN chief António Guterres warns of ‘unintended consequences’ of AI

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has called for restraint by big tech firms in their development of AI during a special address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

On Wednesday (Jan.17), Guterres warned that unrestricted development of generative AI could result in “serious unintended consequences,” and condemned companies for “pursuing profits with a clear disregard for human rights.”

“I believe this crisis is the direct result of a paradox facing our world. In the face of [a] series of existential threats, posed by runaway climate chaos and the runaway development of artificial intelligence without guardrails, we seem powerless to act together,” Guterres said.

.@antonioguterres (@UN) explains the importance of an effective global strategy to regulate generative AI. #wef24 pic.twitter.com/0XfR51etpT

— World Economic Forum (@wef) January 17, 2024

Rebuilding Trust” is the theme of the World Economic Forum’s 2024 annual meeting, which plans to address “increasing division, heightened hostility and a surge in conflicts are defining the current global landscape.” The three major topics to be discussed include reinvigorating a stagnant economy amidst debt and inflation, the climate crisis, and the “disruptive forces” of artificial intelligence.

What did UN chief Guterres say about AI?

“Every new interaction of generative AI increases the risk of serious unintended consequences. The technology has enormous potential for sustainable development, but as the International Monetary Fund has just warned us, it is very likely it will worsen inequality in the world,” Guterres added.

He continued, “These two issues, climate and AI, are exhaustively discussed by governments, by the media and by leaders here in Davos. And yet, we have not an effective global strategy to deal with either.

“The reason is simple, geopolitical divides are preventing us from coming together around global solutions for global challenges. Little wonder that people everywhere are losing face in governments, institutions and financial and economic systems.”

What have tech companies said?

On Tuesday, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella supported the idea for standards and guardrails for the technology, adding that there is a need for global coordination on AI. The tech giant reportedly has in total committed up to $13bn to OpenAI, including a $10bn expansion announced in January 2022.

However, the EU has raised antitrust concerns and is investigating whether the merger is allowed. “The European Commission is checking whether Microsoft’s investment in OpenAI might be reviewable under the EU Merger Regulation,” the commission said in a statement on January 9.

The IMF warned that AI will affect almost 40% of jobs around the world, replacing some while complementing others, potentially worsening inequality. It also suggested that “advanced economies face greater risks from AI—but also more opportunities to leverage its benefits—compared with emerging market and developing economies.”

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, reiterated this possibility at a conference in November “There will come a point where no job is needed.”

“You can have a job if you want to have a job for personal satisfaction but no job is needed, the AI will be able to do everything,” the 52-year-old billionaire said.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series battery life: What to expect?

New smartphone releases have become increasingly iterative over the years, but some specs do still improve between generations. Battery life and charging speeds are at the top of this short list, with longer endurance often sealing the deal for many buyers. For years, smartphone makers like Samsung has capitalized on that fact and this year continues that streak. The company’s new Galaxy S24 series boasts some big battery life gains on paper. But how much of a difference will it make over the outgoing Galaxy S23 family? Let’s break it down.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series battery specs: What changed?

Samsung increased the battery capacities of the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus compared to their respective predecessors last year. That singular change made the smallest smartphone in the lineup far more usable day-to-day. One year later, we’re happy to report that Samsung has taken another step in the same direction.

The Galaxy S24 has gained 100mAh for a total of 4,000mAh, which translates to a 2.5% increase year-over-year. However, the Plus model’s battery capacity has jumped 200mAh and now packs a total of 4,900mAh. That’s as much as the S24 Ultra, which unfortunately remains unchanged at 5,000mAh.

Galaxy S24 series battery life: What to expect?Samsung Galaxy S24 series standing angled

Robert Triggs / Android Authority

The Galaxy S24 series have some impressive battery-related specs on paper, but how much has changed and what can you expect from them in the real world? Here’s an early battery life breakdown of each smartphone, based on our experience with the previous-gen S23 family. We’re still conducting our full suite of battery and charging tests on Samsung’s 2024 flagships, so check back soon for detailed graphs and usage numbers.

Galaxy S24

The Galaxy S24 is the smallest smartphone in the lineup by far and, consequently, has the smallest battery as well. However, this is not as big of a problem as you might think. The Galaxy S24 packs a 6.2-inch screen, which means it will draw slightly less power while in use. In other words, it’s unfair to compare the S24’s battery capacity to the larger phones in the family.

In our Galaxy S23 review last year, we praised the phone for its excellent battery life, especially as it was a sore spot on the S22 that came before it. Samsung also made the switch to the much more efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC last year. Until that generation, Qualcomm’s flagship chips were fabricated on a less efficient manufacturing node. Both of those factors combined to deliver exceptional endurance, enough to end most days with 40% left in the tank.

The vanilla S24 has a larger battery but has to power a slightly larger display this year.

This year’s Galaxy S24 has a slightly larger display, moving from a 6.1-inch panel to 6.2 inches instead. However, the battery capacity has also gone up by 100mAh. Those two aspects should balance out in the end. We’re still a few days out from our full review, but the Galaxy S24 should net you about as much battery life as we reported last year.

One caveat worth noting is that the Galaxy S24 will use Samsung’s Exynos 2400 SoC in most regions outside North America instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This could translate to slightly lower battery life on international models.

Galaxy S24 Plus

The Galaxy S24 Plus got the biggest battery boost of this generation, going from 4,700mAh to a whopping 4,900mAh. That’s within spitting distance of the largest S24 Ultra.

Samsung’s middle-of-the-pack flagship usually impresses the most in the battery life department every year. However, the S24 Plus packs a slightly larger 6.8-inch display this generation. The Korean giant has also brought back the Quad HD resolution, a feature that was once a big selling point for the Plus model. Both of these factors could lead to slightly higher power draw.

Last year, we reported that the Galaxy S23 Plus was capable of delivering two full days of battery life in ideal conditions. Luckily, the increased battery capacity of this generation should keep that status quo intact.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

For the fourth year running, Samsung has stuck with a 5,000mAh cell in its flagship Ultra model. That’s right, the Galaxy S24 Ultra hasn’t registered a battery capacity gain on its spec sheet year-over-year.

Thankfully, we don’t foresee battery life being a problem as our Galaxy S23 Ultra review last year reported excellent endurance. In particular, we recorded between six to eight hours of screen-on time over two full days. Even if the Galaxy S24 delivers the same result, it will likely outlast much of the competition. Stay tuned for our full review where we’ll put the phone through our suite of usual tests.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in all regions, unlike its smaller siblings. This spells good news for buyers outside the North American market as it means predictable performance and battery life.

How long does it take to charge the Galaxy S24 series?Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra S Pen inserted

Robert Triggs / Android Authority

Ever since the Note 7 debacle, Samsung has seemed reluctant to push the envelope when it comes to charging speeds. This year is no exception as the Galaxy S24 series’ charging performance remains unchanged. The smallest smartphone in the family tops out at just 25W, while the Plus and Ultra models keep their 45W maximums.

When we measured the charging performance of the Galaxy S23 Ultra last year, we noticed slightly better 0-100 times. This is because it could sustain its 45W charging power for roughly 10 minutes longer. Samsung says it has massively improved thermal management on this year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra, so a similar charging time reduction might be on the cards this year too.

Samsung remains conservative with charging speeds on the Galaxy S24.

For reference, the Galaxy S23 Ultra took 57 minutes to go from 0 to 100% with a 45W adapter. You’ll need a Super Fast Charging-capable charger as Samsung will not include one in the box. Any adapter sporting USB PD PPS with 45W or higher will do the trick. The power requirement drops to 25W for the regular S24.

While the vanilla S24’s 25W charging may seem slow compared to 45W, it was enough to fully charge up last year’s S23 within 70 minutes. As for the S24 Plus, expect similar charge times to the Ultra given the matching 45W spec and nearly identical battery capacities. Put simply, all three phones in the S24 series will take about an hour to fully charge up.

Wireless charging speeds remain unchanged this generation as well. The Galaxy S24 series relies on the first-gen Qi wireless charging standard, which goes up to 15W. We hoped that Samsung would adopt the newer Qi2 charging standard, but it still seems a ways off. With the existing charging tech then, you’re looking at 1.5 to 2.5 hours for a full charge, with the smallest battery taking the least amount of time and vice-versa. You can’t get better charging times with the Qi wireless standard.

Galaxy S24 series battery vs the competition: Is it good?Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus vs Apple iPhone 15 Pro

Robert Triggs / Android Authority

In terms of battery life, you won’t be left disappointed regardless of which device you get from Samsung’s latest Galaxy S24 lineup. Considering the broader smartphone market, however, some competitors may deliver better endurance figures.

For example, the Asus Zenfone 10 packs a larger 4,300mAh battery in a similarly-sized body as the Galaxy S24. However, it comes at the cost of a thicker design and plastic back to keep weight down. Likewise, the OnePlus 12 should end up priced lower than the Galaxy S24 Plus when it launches globally. However, it includes an even larger 5,400mAh battery alongside its 6.82-inch display.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra also concedes to some smartphones like the OnePlus 12, but it’s also on par with Google’s Pixel 8 Pro. The same holds true for charging speeds as well. Samsung’s 45W maximum may seem slow in the context of OPPO and OnePlus’ 100W SuperVOOC charging. However, it’s still ahead of what Apple and Google offer on their respective flagship phones.

Overall, Samsung has refined its 2024 flagship series to alleviate battery-related pain points rather than win any awards for the longest-lasting smartphone on the market. As a fan of the smaller phones in the Galaxy S24 lineup, the battery capacity gains will certainly sway my purchasing decision towards the new models.

FAQsDoes the Samsung Galaxy S24 come with a charger?

No, Samsung does not ship a charger in the box with Galaxy S24 smartphones. You can use any USB PD PPS-capable charger, not just Samsung-branded ones.

How does the Galaxy S24 series battery compare to the Galaxy S23?

In terms of battery life, the Galaxy S24 gets a 100mAh larger cell this generation while the Plus model gets an extra 200mAh. However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s battery capacity hasn’t improved over last year’s model.

How to improve battery life on the Samsung Galaxy S24?

The Galaxy S24’s battery life will depend on factors like screen brightness, refresh rate, and processing load. For the longest runtime, lower the display’s refresh rate to 60Hz and lower the display’s brightness.

Is Super Fast charging bad for the Galaxy S24 battery?

Yes and no, Super Fast Charging is safe as Samsung has built-in thermal safeguards to prevent it from damaging the battery. That said, you can reduce long-term battery degradation by turning off fast charging in the Settings app when you don’t need it.

FBI Arrests Transgender ‘Nazi Dominatrix from Hell’ Who Posted Social Media Messages Threatening Jews, ‘Transphobes,’ and More – Agency Portrays Him as a Right-Wing Terrorist | The Gateway Pundit

Credit: Channel 3 News

The FBI last week arrested a trans person referred to as a “Nazi Dominatrix from Hell” after discovering he posted about going out in a “blaze of glory” while making threatening comments about multiple ethnic groups and those who objected to his lifestyle. Unsurprisingly, the agency is portraying him as a right-wing terrorist.

As the Daily Wire reported Monday, 56-year-old Elizabeth Ballesteros West of Cottage Grove, Oregon, a biological male who identifies as female, was charged last Friday with making interstate threats based on the September 26 Facebook post to the group “Trans Woman Support Group,” which came as he said he believed he was about to be fired and was tired of “transphobic a**holes. The post also showed two guns.

Credit: FBI

I’m too old to keep looking for jobs and I’ve had it up to here being bullied by trans phobic assholes I am left with no alternative,” West wrote, “I’ve been preparing for this moment for a long time at least then I’ll be remember. I have no family no friends. So there really isn’t any point living any more?”

Officers found West with 16 rifles, 11 handguns, tens of thousands of ammunition rounds, and gun accessories. According to the court affidavit, he also had 48 drawings and a composition notebook called Black Shadow Journal.

The Daily Wire notes these drawings showed a superhero wielding a sword. He stabs, hangs, mutilates, and kills men, most of whom he refers to as ‘n**gers.’ One image is titled ‘That’s Ms. Wolf to you! The Man SlayerQueen of the under world.

The FBI had previously interviewed West in September but failed to make an arrest then. Instead, the Daily Wire revealed agents waited months later after checks of his social media exhibited racial hatred towards black people, immigrants, and Jews.

His X biography describes himself as “A Nazi dominatrix from Hell, who is tired of the blackening of America and Europe and ready to stand up to the Black orcs and the Jewish Wizards.”

Credit:@West30602

West’s hatred toward minority groups comes from his embrace of left-wing gender ideology. For example, he detests black people because they often “misgender” him. He also loathes immigrants because he learned one on Oregon’s public healthcare plan got free transgender surgery, while West would have to pay for his gender surgery.

Despite these facts, the FBI characterized him in the affidavit as a right-wing terrorist. The affidavit references “far-right terror,” “white supremacy,” and “alt-right extremism.”

After months of monitoring, FBI agents arrested West on January 9 after being alerted of a gun purchase as the Daily Wire reported. The justification the FBI used to charge him was the transgenderism-fueled Facebook post from September.

The agency had called West pretending to work for the electric company to get confirmation of his address, then subpoenaed X for confirmation that it was his account. This was despite the affidavit not alleging that any of the racist X posts were crimes.

According to federal agents and court records, West is being held at the Lane County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – which version to buy

After a super reception from everybody who has played it so far, Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is set to make an early run for the best game of the year crown.

Releasing on all formats on January 18th it comes, as is now the norm, in a couple of different flavors, including the Standard version and Deluxe version which provides three days early access and a cosmetic Prince of Persia Warrior Within outfit, should you so desire.

Each version comes with a different price tag naturally and you can check out all of those in the table below.

Meanwhile, you do not wish to splash all that cash in one go, Ubisoft recently restructured its own gaming subscription packages as we talked about yesterday, and as its top tier includes deluxe versions of all its games on Day One of launch, for a subscription fee of $17.99 you can play it tomorrow that way. There is no minimum period to subscribe for, Ubisoft is hoping you find enough value in the coming months to stick with it, but if you want to play the full game, and not the freely available demo to see what you think, that is the most cost-efficient way of going about it.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown – what’s the best edition to get?

Being cheapskates we would always say hit the standard version unless you absolutely must see your prince in a different costume to your friends. You do also get a Digital Adventure book and a couple of other cosmetics, but well, meh, it looks cool enough but the extra cash is better in your pocket in our opinion.

Here are the prices of the full game, but don’t forget the Ubisoft+ option as well.

What is Google Circle to Search?

Samsung recently unveiled its newest range of S Series smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

One interesting new feature that made its debut on the S24 series is Google Circle to Search, but what exactly is it?

Keep reading to learn everything we know about Google Circle to Search, including what it is, which models support it and what it might be useful for.

What is Google Circle to Search?

Google Circle to Search is a new Android feature currently exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The feature allows users to circle a specific part of an image to receive more information about that segment. Think of it like Google Image reverse search but you can get much more particular with the section of the image you want to look up.

To access the tool all you need to do is find an image, hold down the home button on your Samsung device and draw a quick circle around the section of the image that interests you. We saw the feature demonstrated on the S24 Ultra with Samsung’s S Pen, but we presume you’d be able to use your finger on the standard S24 and S24 Plus as neither device comes with a stylus.

So, how is this different from cropping an image and reverse-searching for it?

Aside from being quicker and more convenient, there’s also an AI element to Google Circle to Search. AI was the underlying theme of this year’s S Series announcement, so it’s no surprise this feature ended up being a highlight.

Whenever you search, Google Circle to Search will offer AI-generated recommendations in response to your queries. For example, if you search for a specific location – such as a photo of a landmark or a cafe – Google could provide written suggestions on how to get to that place.

We haven’t gotten the chance to test the feature ourselves just yet, so we can’t say how successful Google Circle to Search is at providing the right information, but we’re excited to see this tool in action on the new S Series phones.

Which is in my country?

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is here, and along with it comes some confusion. With the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung kept it simple and used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy worldwide on all three phones, so users everywhere got the same phone experience. That is not the case with the Galaxy S24 series, unfortunately. But which countries are getting the Snapdragon variant, and which ones are getting the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S24? Here’s the answer you are looking for!

QUICK ANSWER

The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy worldwide.

The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in the US, China, and South Korea. Outside of these regions, like in Europe, the UK, India, and more, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus come with the Samsung Exynos 2400 for Galaxy.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy in all regions

Lanh Nguyen / Android Authority

Starting with the easy bit, the premium Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy everywhere in the world. All regions get to experience the same phone with the same SoC. So whether you buy your phone in the US, Europe, India, or elsewhere, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will offer practically the same experience.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy is slightly different from the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that you will get on other Android flagships. Both are premium SoCs, but they have slight differences in their clock speeds across the various clusters. The “for Galaxy” version has a slightly higher maximum clock speed (3.39GHz vs 3.3GHz) for its Cortex-X4 prime core, but slightly lower maximum clock speeds for the two clusters of Cortex-A720 cores (2.9GHz and 3.1GHz vs 3GHz and 3.2GHz), and also for the Cortex-A520 cores (2.2GHz vs 2.3GHz).

Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus

Next, if you purchase the Galaxy S24 or the Galaxy S24 Plus in the US, China, or South Korea, the phones will come with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC. The performance will be virtually at par with the Galaxy S24 Ultra, so you will be getting the true flagship experience across the lineup in the USA.

Everywhere else, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus get the Samsung Exynos 2400 SoC

In non-US regions like Europe, the UK, India, Dubai, and beyond, Samsung is selling the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus with the Samsung Exynos 2400 for Galaxy SoC. Samsung only sells the Snapdragon version of these phones in the US, China, and South Korea. Everywhere else, the company sells the Exynos version.

The Exynos 2400 is considered a flagship SoC, but it comes a close second place to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Early leaks have suggested a 3-5% difference in performance between the Snapdragon and Exynos models but offered no real conclusion on the energy efficiency of the two chips.

Is the Galaxy S24 Exynos processor a deal-breaker for you?

Yes, I won’t get an S24/S24 Plus because of Exynos.

No, I’m sure the Exynos processor is fine.

I don’t care, I’m getting the S24 Ultra anyway.

I’m waiting for the benchmarks and reviews to judge it.

In the past, like with the Exynos 2200 against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on the Galaxy S22 series, many users have reported a discernible difference in everyday usage, with the Snapdragon being noticeably better than the Exynos, and the problem was compounded for gaming and battery life.

We’ll have to get our hands on both versions of the phones to see if there is a material and noticeable difference between the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy versions of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus.
