Defining Me

So, I was on Fetlife and someone posted about a personality test they took. Since I am on a never ending quest to understand myself, I decided to take it and see how it came out. It was surprisingly accurate:

Me visually

Solitary

You are a private person, not very comfortable in a big group, and view excessive socializing as a waste of time. You do not prefer hanging out with others to spending time alone; you do not tend to feel at home in a crowded room, club, stadium, or auditorium.

Aesthetic

Y...

I Love Them, I Hate Them

As a writer, I am both a lover of all things linguistic and a warrior against verbosity. I adore words. I love the feel of them in my mouth, the sound of them in my ears and the shape of them on the page. If words were cookies, I'd gobble them up. The power of language cannot be understated. A well chosen word can alter someone's life, change their perspective and open their eyes. I am humbled by the responsibility that goes into being a writer. However, that same power can be drowned out by ...

TMI Tuesday

In honor of Thanksgiving … in other words, because I'm currently trying to work my way through some serious government proposal writer's block … I thought I'd participate in TMI Tuesday.

1. Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry's?

Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Neither, Breyers. Specifically, the Mint Chocolate Chip. Unlike all the other MCC brands, Breyers forgoes the evil green chemical that makes them glow. I personally don't like to eat food that is neon colored. But, hey, that's just me. This M...

On Deviance and Oral Sex

Another DIY weekend, but this time I'm not copping out on the theme of the blog with a meme. Instead, you're getting poetry. Before I began writing fiction, I wrote poetry. I have lots and lots of poems, most that are more therapy than anything else, but these two fall squarely in the BDSM/Erotica realm. So, I've decided to post them for your reading pleasure!

Go Down On Me

I tremble

and writhe

As your tongue

begins its

sensuous slide

inside

me

All

of my thoughts

flee

In the river of pleasure
that ...

Gaijin by Remittance Girl

Book Cover GaijinI recently had the pleasure of chatting with Remittance Girl about non-consensual erotica and the effect of publishing restrictions surrounding the topic. She is taking on the challenge of acquiring a PhD and non-con erotica is a focus of her thesis. I am in awe of her commitment to her craft. This lovely chat culminated with her sending me a copy of her story Gaijin. The blurb for the novella reads:

When Jennifer left the cold and damp of London for the sparkle and bustle of Tokyo, she...

You Will Submit …

Hi – We don't know each other and can't even really say we've even met, but why don't you submit to me online and follow every order I email you. Thanks. I'm expecting a response, because, you know, I'm a Dom.

Since joining Fetlife I've received a handful of notes that are generalized above. Some are more eloquent than others. Some are much more sincere than others, but they all have the same basic message … I'm a Dom, submit to me because I say so.

Now, you might think this post is about the e...

It's Official…

I'm in print! You can find my very first full-length, print novel on sale at UStar Novels. It's also my first paranormal romance. This is not your traditional piece of erotica, UStar creates personalized novels where you can answer some basic questions and the story is then customized so that you star in the novel. It was a true challenge writing this in such a fashion as to be universal, but I'm quite proud of the end result. These books are becoming quite popular with spouses of our armed f...

The Abuse/BDSM Connection

To my esteemed reader who struggled with clicking "publish," this is for you. I resisted writing this post for a very long time, so you're not alone!

"Lament" courtesy of Hanna Nino at http://flic.kr/p/6v6u9D

As I've mentioned before, my guy believes that BDSM is deviant and the desire for its practices is generally rooted in a psychosis that if recognized and dealt with constructively, will resolve itself and the urges will therefore dissipate. To me, that is a catch all statement much like...

Who's Writing This Story Anyway?

As a writer, I've discovered something quite disturbing … I have no control over the progression of my story. My characters take over and go where they will. I fuss, fight, argue and sulk, but it  makes no difference. They go where they've determined regardless of what I have to say about it. I have yet to write a story that goes exactly as I had planned. You see, I'm a planner. I write a synopsis first and then go from there. After the synopsis, I do detailed character sketches for each of m...

My Seven Deadly Sins

My dear readers … I'm sitting at my desk, sipping my morning cup of coffee (By the way, why do people say "cuppa" for coffee. I hate that!) and waiting for my boss to give me the edits to the writing project I received at 2:30pm yesterday that must be complete by 11 am today and that I spent my evening at home working on. Since I have nothing else to do while I wait for these edits, I thought I'd post another meme to pass the time. You can play along at TMI Tuesday.

1. LUST: Besides your...
