My Liebchens, I'm a Liebster

Liebster Blog Award
The quirky and funny Robotic Rhetoric has deemed me "check out worthy" which, to me, is high praise. Thank you very much and no, my dear sir, I do not have loads of followers, but I have the best followers and I am honored that you've checked me out.
Personally, I love these things, not so much for the ego boost, though that's always good, but because I discover new blogs to read and follow with each one.
The rules of this blog are:

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and BDSM
As many of you who have been following me may remember, I am addicted to higher learning. As a result, I acquired a perfectly useless MBA about five years ago. As part of this particular branch of my education, I was required to study the management and motivation of employees. The only interesting aspect of these courses was my introduction to Abraham Maslow.
Maslow was a professor of psychology and published several seminal works including his 1943 paper Theory of Human Motivation in which h...
Outing Myself
I've wrestled with doing this off and on since I launched this blog, but until now I simply couldn't bring myself to expose my poetry blog to my readers. The thing that is most beautiful about writing is how you get to mine your heart and the recesses of your brain to turn out stories for consumption. The thing that I struggle with is that the only way to be a good writer is to be a genuine writer. Do you have to tell everything about yourself, dredge out all the private details … no. But...
Guilty Pleasures and Random Facts
Well, my dear readers, I am once again trying to loosen up the writing muscles. I've had an awful morning and need to get to writing, but am feeling entirely unmotivated, so I've decided to regale you with some random facts about me and discuss a few of my guilty pleasures …
To my way of thinking a guilty pleasure is something you enjoy, but aren't entirely comfortable letting other people know about. Either because of an inherent stigma or some internal discomfort or insecurity on your own...

To You, My Readers …

Please Help!
I spend time on the blogs of every single one of my readers. I am very happy to say that you are an eclectic and interesting bunch. Many of you are even writers. If you've poked around my little corner of cyberspace then you've probably noticed the Writing Out Child Abuse badge down the right side of the site. If you haven't, I've repeated it here.
WOCA is the brain child of J.S. Wayne, a wonderful author of erotica. JS tells his story best at the WOCA blog, so I won't retell it...
Fun(ny) Stuff I Heard
I'm killing time at work waiting for edits on my latest award winning government proposal … heehee … at least I hope so … and decided to play TMI Tuesday because the questions were just too weird! To play along visit this week's TMI Tuesday. "The theme is a culmination of weird, funny, and odd questions I have heard over the last month. They were crazy enough, so I thought they'd be perfect for TMI Tuesday.
Funny that I saw:"

An Orgasm A Day or Better Health Through Getting Off
I came across this article online from the Center for the Intimate Arts and had to re-blog it. The basic premise of the article is that all of the endorphins released through orgasm make it a healthy form of preventative medicine. I happen to agree wholeheartedly. Doesn't it just make sense that anything that makes you feel good would make you healthier. The same way they say laughter is the best medicine. If we all ensured an orgasm a day, we'd probably all be better off. Would this...
Apparently I'm Versatile

Versatile Blogger Award
The lovely viemora of Cavern of the Beast gifted me with a versatile blogger award. Thank you. I must now follow the rules of notating seven random facts about myself and then paying this forward to fifteen other blogs.
Seven Random Facts:
1. I'm Italian but don't speak the language. My grandparents decided to "assimilate" during WWII and didn't teach their children. I took Italian in high school but stopped when I found out it wouldn't help me communicate with my...

S&M: Healthy by Definition?

The Sadist by Cambiodefractal on Flickr (http://flic.kr/p/61g6nw)
There is a thread going on in Fetlife about whether or not S&M is actually healthier than vanilla relationships. The initiator of this thread points to the "Hormonal Changes and Couple Bonding in Consensual Sadomasochistic Activity" studies performed in 2006 or so by Sagarin, et al. on 58 S&M couples. The results of which were subsequently published and I've attached them here as well as quoting the abstract:
In two studies, 58...
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my dear and lovely readers! I hope yours is as good as mine has been. Lots of excellent food if I do say so myself. I turned out a lovely meal with my world class apple pie. I even made the crust from scratch this year with my handy dandy Ninja.

My apple pie ... yumm!
My daughter and I set up the tree and we had a Deep Space Nine marathon …

Floyd and Bella waiting for Santa
This was the best Thanksgiving I've had in years! Happy Holidays!
