Hot Shot: All Tatted Up

My favorites are the designs on his abdomen. Like pillars holding up his chest...

One Good Thing

I got souvenirs! My mother and sister returned from Japan last night and they brought me some gifties. A cute lil' cappuccino mug, a good luck turtle trinket, and a Christmas ornament in the shape of an origami swan decorated with gold. I semi-collect ornaments, but only if they're strange and unique. Last Christmas my friend Kelley sent me a hot merman. Love it! And I've been looking for a pornographic Superman in Kryptonite bondage, but I'm told that doesn't exist. I know. I'm surprised too...

Cabaret Life: Beetlejuice

One of Winona Ryder's best roles (up there with HEATHERS). This is the very end of Tim Burton's film. Lydia gets an A on a test and gets to celebrate with the help of her new ghost family, Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin, to Harry Belafonte's "Jump in the Line." Such a great scene! I love the football team on the stairs.

One Good Thing

I was finishing my morning workout in the garage (how rustic am I?), and was locking up when things just... aligned right. I had been listening to my Zen player. Most of the music was uptempo, though it doesn't always have to be. Mind over melody, you know. Anyway, I had just turned to walk back to the house when a sweet summer breeze blew past me. The kind that makes you breathe deep and content, though you don't know why. Just then Nick Drake's "One of These Things First" came on my player....

Cabaret Life: Adventures of Priscilla

I'm starting a new feature today in which I showcase great musical scenes from non-musical films. This feature will last 20 parts or so. They're alphabetical. The first entrant is the classic "I Will Survive" number from THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT, performed by Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce, and the hilarious Terrence Stamp. I guess it could be classified a musical, but not in the strictest terms. No one actually breaks out in song. But look at those costumes! They won a well...

Hot Shot: Big Boy On The Beach

Picture it in slo-mo... The truth is, I've never known too many big guys like this to run very fast, so if he was ever in a horror film - he's toast.

One Good Thing

I found this cute little time waster today. My Parents Joined Facebook. It's exactly what you think it is. Sometimes jaw-dropping faux pas-eseses in the parent/child online relationship. Some of them are quite funny. You can just feel the embarrassment as someone's mother comments on their sex life, or worse, gets gratuitous about her own. My mother has yet to even wander over to mine. She actually made it so my status updates were invisible to her! Can you believe that? She said she didn't d...

Hot Shot: Stanley?

For some reason when I see this groin stiffening shot it makes me think of Tennessee Williams' "Streetcar Named Desire." I guess I'm just literary that way... ;-)
