- Dr. / Engº- Alta capacidade intelectual- Ambicioso- Criativo e inovador- Independente. Pensamento "out of the box"- Alta resistência à frustração e adversidades

Liliana

"The Darkest Lie (Lords of the Underworld, #6)" by Gena Showalter

The Darkest Lie (Lords of the Underworld, #6)The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Last number on "Lords of Underworld", the series that make me bipolar :P
One book I love, the next I hate...

This one... well... I didn't loved it... but liked it quite a bit!

The fact that this Lord contained the demon of Lies and for that fact can't tell one truth without endure pain, made this reading (sometimes)a living hell!!!

You read "I just want to get out of here" when what he really was saying was "I want to stay here"... "I want to kiss you" - "I want to kill you"... "I hate you" - "I love you" ... imagine this in hundred of pages... it was madness and frustrating as hell!

But, I manage to read it all till the end, and there was some surprises that made this story more interesting than the previous ones.

It was a strange book, not for all readers... just for the ones that are stubborn (like me)

"Slave to Sensation (#1)" by Nalini Singh

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My first new series this year and it went very well!!!

Also the first book by Nalini Singh... nice writing, and what I love the most: really original plot!

A new society ruled by people deprived from "feeling"...

Though the secondary characters could be a little more developed and active on the story, the "realistic" line of events that justify the existence of such society, largely compensate the flow.

It all turned to be very good!

"Visions of Heat (#2)" by Nalini Singh

Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

As I've liked so much the first book on this series, I went right to the next one.

I have to say that I didn't enjoyed it as much as "Slave to Sensation", maybe because what I liked the most was the "idea" in the series, and that, we only get on the first one. (of course!)

As well as it happened in the first book, I liked that the "love birds" didn't fall in loved in the first look and without any reason, as so often occur on this kind of series. They get to known one another and things grow from that point.

In a few weeks I'll definitely get the next book and continue reading this series.

Recommend it to all PR fans.

"Shadow Game" by Christine Feehan

Shadow Game (GhostWalkers, #1)Shadow Game by Christine Feehan
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Christine Feehan is such a big seller and I still don't get why...

This is the third or fourth book I read from this writer and it's the same "plain" and "without nothing special" all over again.

I know it's just a fantasy story but... I caught myself over and over rolling my eyes and screaming in my head p-l-e-a-s-e!!!!

Mystery / suspense: almost made me cry how bad it was.
Characters: Nothing new. Worst of all, the female with "daddy issues"
Plot: More of the same
Love scenes: I almost fell asleep

This one was definitely my last try on Christine Feehan.

"Drood" by Dan Simmons

DroodDrood by Dan Simmons
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a GREAT book!!!
900 pages of delight. Actually, I think that this one goes to the "best I read in my life"

It's the first I read from Dan Simmons and I'm already a fan!

The writing, the plot, the scenario, the characters... all so good.
If I was to write about all the things I liked, this review would turn into an essay.

If you like suspense, mystery, historical... please read this book!
