And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. Ephesians 5:11 NKJV
Laying It Down; Rising Up
I have a deep respect for firemen. While they pull people out of all kinds of dangerous situations, it’s their willingness to run into a burning building for the sake of a stranger that blows my mind. It takes a special person to do that. It was true in Jesus’ day as well.

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person, someone might possibly dare to die. – Romans 5:7

The Bible tells us it takes a rare person to lay down their life for the righteous or good. Who would lay down their lives for the down and out, dirty, desperate, and despicable? Liars, adulterers, murderers, and thieves?

The Bible tells us Jesus healed all who came to Him. That means all. He healed hands that He knew would be used to steal and to destroy, eyes that would lust, and feet that would run away from Him. Jesus healed with no strings attached. He died for all sinners – gossips and mass murderers alike. All means all because He has compassion on us all.

However, there is a string attached, but it’s not attached to deny us something. It’s attached to give us something, something we don’t deserve – eternal life in heaven as a member of God’s family – joint heirs with our brother Jesus.

It’s my hope that we demonstrate the heart of Jesus and become Holy Ghost firefighters. Run into the flames of people’s burning lives and drag them to Jesus! He will burn away the things that bind and save them from the fires of hell. Just so they won’t feel shamed, He even makes sure they don’t stink!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Laying It Down; Rising Up

Moving With God
Steeped in the WordMay 10, 2025 – 5/10/2025
5 – The Grace of God
10 – Perfect Order
For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Romans 5:10 NKJV
Moving With God
Keep your momentum moving forward! You will scale mountains like it’s a valley and kill giants as you run with full force toward your destiny! The Bible calls you a Living Epistle in 2 Corinthians 3:2. This means you are a walking book, a living testament being written by God. Before your last chapter has finished into the grand masterpiece that blows heaven’s mind, you already know how it will end. It will end with great victory.

Your story will not be a sad one filled with great exploits but ending with failure. Yours will be glorious because you are purposing, right this very day, to finish well.

Like a modern Tom Sawyer, you are ready for your next big adventure. Just like Mark Twain’s masterpiece, yours too will have a great ending. “But I reckon I got to light out for the territory ahead of the rest because Aunt Sally, she’s going to adopt me and civilize me, and I can’t stand it. I been there before.” – Last line of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Like Huck, don’t go back to where you were. Continue forward! Continue to go after destiny and quit living in your history. Strive for upgrade after upgrade. Go from deep unto deep, chasing after the Lord’s purpose for your life – leading people to Christ.

When you finally finish accomplishing your vision, killing giants, slaying dragons, and mapping it out for others behind you, look for me. I’ll be there in that incredible place with the most interesting man in the world – Jesus.

I will see you on that great day, and we will celebrate together. Until then, keep the faith and purpose to bring a bunch of people with you. The lost need found, so get to it!

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. – Hebrews 12:3

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Love Accelerates
Steeped in the WordMay 8, 2025 – 5/08/2025
5 – The Grace of God
8 – New Beginnings
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. Ephesians 5:8 NKJV
Love Accelerates
Do you really know how much you’re loved by the only One who really matters? His name is Jesus Christ, and the Bible says in Zechariah 2:8 that whoever touches you “touches the apple of His eye.” Just so you know, that is the pupil, or “untouchable” part of the eye.

Jeremiah 29:11 says that when God thinks about you, His thoughts are of peace and plans to bring you to “an expected end” – a certain outcome or specific plan for your life. Wow!

Revelation 1:6 says that when God sees you, He sees you as a King or Priest. Yes, Daddy calls you royalty! If He has a wallet, your picture is in it! If God’s got a refrigerator, your accomplishments are displayed all over it!

You see, God likes to embarrass the devil by bragging on you the way He bragged on Job. He sees you through the eyes of love. In spite of this, you can’t really love other people until you truly understand how much God loves you. The greater your revelation of His love, the greater your capacity to demonstrate it for others.

Evangeline Booth, daughter of the founder of the Salvation Army, had a real knowledge of the Jesus-kind of love. As she sat in a filthy slum cleaning the sores of a drunk woman, a friend said to her, “I wouldn’t do that for a million dollars.” Amazingly, Evangeline Booth replied, “Neither would I.”

Spirit-Filled Plan
Steeped in the WordMay 7, 2025 – 5/07/2025
5 – The Grace of God
7 – The Spirit of God
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. – James 5:7 NKJV
Spirit-Filled Plan
Before you were knit together in your mother’s womb, God was hard at work creating an identity and purpose for you.

Know this: it is magnificent, and He trusts you to go after it. He made it for you to discover and, like a good daddy hiding supernatural Easter eggs, He made His plan for you to be found only if you are willing to search for it.

You need to be interested in your upgrade. Give in to that feeling that there is more — that you don’t have enough Jesus.
Believe me, you are not too old, nor do you have too much history, to discover the jaw-dropping wonder of what God still has planned for you. You just have to reignite the supernatural, God-given fire for what’s out there (and in there) for you. There is a you no one has seen and a life you haven’t yet lived and might miss if you don’t start “next level” thinking.
I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. If you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the Lord, and I will bring you back from captivity.
– Jeremiah 29:11-14
Want hope, a future, and prosperity? Do you want out of the prison of a meaningless life? Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. – Matthew 5:6 NKJV
Grace for More

One thing the Bible makes clear, and my experience backs up, is that evil is “less” – it is toothless, venom-less and defenseless. It is clearly less than good.
Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger, and Pablo Escobar were all feared as being unstoppable evil. When the American military came knocking, Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of 9-11, tried to hide behind one of his wives. Then, there is Al Capone. He was the meanest gangster bully ever, but he spent several years in the fetal position in cell 181 on Alcatraz Island. He wept so much, the other inmates made fun of him. His tombstone reads, “My Jesus, Mercy.” With ruthless murderers like Capone, we don’t want to think about their possible redemption. We don’t hope he found Jesus, and we’ll see him in Heaven. It’s natural, and I mean that word for what it is, that we want to see him punished and pay for the horrible evil he dealt others on earth. However, no matter how evil someone has been during their life, the goodness of Jesus is greater! True power is the power to forgive and save. Evil can’t do that. Here is an example from the book of Joshua. Waiting for the Lord’s instructions on how to take the evil city of Jericho, Joshua looks up and sees a mighty warrior with a sword standing in front of him. He asks the question we all want to ask and gets an answer none of us would expect. The reply Jesus gave dropped Joshua to his knees in worship: “Neither.” You see, if the evil people of Jericho would have repented and asked for forgiveness, Jesus would have extended it and saved them. That’s the power of good over evil. It is a power each of us who are saved should be so grateful for; we should want to see it extended, even to the Al Capone’s of this world.
I want more of God. His power gives life everlasting and more abundant life. I don’t partner with death. I am always watching for opportunities to find more of Him.

Grace to Belong
Steeped in the WordMay 5, 2025 – 5/05/2025
5 – The Grace of God
5 – The Grace of God
Now, hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who was given to us. – Romans 5:5 NKJV
Grace to Belong
When you became a Christian, you were called into a relationship with God (1 Corinthians 1:9) and it’s a wonderful thing. 1 John 1:3 also makes is clear that we enter a fellowship that goes two ways – with God and other Christians.

It’s the relationship with other Christians that isn’t always wonderful.
Now, I have good friends who are kingdom-minded Christians, and they maintain healthy Christian relationships without going to church very often. They stay connected to the body through service or ministries. These few people are the exception to the rule.
Most Christians need to attend church even if they don’t believe they do!
The New Testament never divides Christians into church members and non-church members. It assumes that everybody participates in the local assembly. It gives no examples of Christians who belong to the “universal church,” but have no link to the local church.
Any idea of enjoying salvation and being a Christian in isolation is just plain foreign to the New Testament. Christians met regularly. Any time Paul made new converts, he immediately organized them into a little church.
The next thing he did was ordain pastors not only to feed and lead those congregations but put them in order. For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you. – Titus 1:5
The reason for this is that the church must work together to carry out God’s purposes. It’s not a hard thing to understand, but so many Christians miss this! They fool themselves into thinking that salvation is the end of things, when it’s the beginning!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?
Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. Harvest Is My Goal
Steeped in the WordMay 4, 2025 – 5/04/2025
5 – The Grace of God
4 – Creation and Things That Are Made
Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Proverbs 4:5 NKJV
Harvest Is My Goal
God has a divine appointment for you today. Don’t miss it! It will lead to an imminent upgrade.

Seek wisdom to continue walking in the desires God has set apart for you. I love miracles and our God loves doling them out to His children in dire need. But miracles are not a long-term answer to our problems, especially financial problems. If we need a miracle, it’s because we’re in a mess. Want out of that mess altogether? Want to live a prosperous, blessed life? The principle of “Seed, Time, and Harvest” is what you’re looking for.

Also known as “hard work and reward,” it is God’s ultimate highest for you: to see you plan, plant a seed, work the land, and harvest the success of whatever thing you choose to do. And when you succeed, share your prosperity with those less fortunate in the name of Jesus.

If this is your plan, you will not only need wisdom, but God’s favor on your life.

Favor is the God-given ability to hook up with the right people at the right time to prosper. Favor is what you need when it’s time for a promotion and when you go to the bank with the vision for a new business. Favor is what you need to be the top salesperson. It is what God gives you to beat the odds stacked up against you.

May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, “The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of His servant.” – Psalm 35:27

The Bible tells us God is looking to favor you. First, you need wisdom, which God tells us in His Word, He provides liberally to all who ask. A good example is Joseph.

God gave Joseph favor when he was in his master’s house and when he was in prison. God gave him favor with Pharaoh himself. You see, Joseph knew how to be the perfect house slave, the model prisoner, and how to conduct himself around the king. Joseph was wise. Obviously, he was someone God could work with.

Are you someone God can prosper because you are seeking wisdom, favor, and good character?

Which Wolf Do You Feed?
Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. Grace to Advance
Steeped in the WordMay 2, 2025 – 5/02/2025
5 – The Grace of God
2 – A Faithful Witness and Being Set Apart
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
– Ephesians 5:2 NKJV
Grace to Advance
Religion trains us to think the worst thing that can happen is to do something wrong — to fail. But Jesus teaches the worst thing that can happen is for you to do nothing at all! Are you ready to fight through this with me?

In Matthew 25, Jesus tells a story about a man who was afraid to do what his master had commissioned him to. Instead of taking the master’s coin to the marketplace and gaining more, for fear of losing the one coin, he simply did nothing. When the master returned from a trip, the man gave him back the single coin. The response is shocking…

You wicked and lazy servant… you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming, I would have received back my own with interest… take the (coin) from him… and cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” – Matthew 25:14-30

Apparently, God takes advancement and multiplication very seriously. In this parable, His wrath is displayed not at mistakes made in moving forward but in the mistake of refusing to move at all. Don’t miss this point!

Jesus came to give us abundant life. To reject it out of fear is to say His sacrifice is not enough. And if it’s not enough for you, it’s surely not enough for your friends, family, and co-workers, so there’s no need to share Jesus with them. Every mission, every breakthrough, and every soul saved comes with spiritual warfare, and we need YOU—our Battle Cry Tribe—to stand in the gap, covering us with prayers of victory, protection, and supernatural favor.
The Kingdom of darkness trembles when the saints of God lift up a battle cry in unity, covering the frontlines with prayer, power, and prophetic declarations!
Blessing,
Pastor Troy Brewer
