Iceland Dreaming Paranormal-Scope
The Beach Boys had a song called “California Dreaming.” I prefer to dream of Iceland instead. I just love the Northern Lights.
While I am not qualified to read either stars or planets, I am intimately linked to the paranormal in the world in many ways. So are you.

In the United States of America on this day, we honor the men and women of the armed services who fight for this country. It is because of their efforts that we enjoy our freedoms.
This comes from Wikipedia for those who want to know the history of the day. “Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. At the urging of major U.S. veteran organizations, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.”

The Shadow of Halloween By Susan Hanniford Crowley
Halloween Themed CupcakesHalloween will be with us before we know it. No matter how well we prepare, there will always be something we wish we had done. Do what you can and enjoy it. Don’t have any regrets. Even the best plans change. I didn’t make cupcakes or any baked goods for Halloween.
My sole baking this year will be gingerbread people for Christmas.
How are you celebrating Halloween this year?
I had a Halloween party for the grandchildren, watched some Halloween movies, and ate some Halloween candy, so I had to buy more.
Take it easy this Halloween. We all have too much stress. Shake that off and breathe.

Chemistry on the Page
Chemistry is fascinating. I say this as I have one child in the tween years and another on the cusp of entering into the tweens, and boy are they curious. Of course it isn’t only them, I’m watching this same evolution happen all around them. The boys are suddenly very aware of the girls and the girls, well to be honest, they seem more aware of the boys a couple grades ahead of them.
As a reader a writer of romance, I can’t help but watch all this play out with fascination. In the books I read, I always found it incredible when an author did a good job at building a relationship, and really pulling you into the world of your protagonist, especially when building chemistry in a romance. Too often, stories can feel very flat or lacking in dimension if an author doesn’t do a good job.
In life, the chemistry between those in a couple is so natural or at least should be if it is to progress. And it has to build as you go along. Our attraction to others is programmed into us from a young age. It needs time to develop in life and in a book but in a book, you need to time it just right so it doesn’t go dull for the reader.
Writing this out (Creating a scene with chemistry between protagonists) is a great exercise to try even if you don’t usually write romance. It’s a skill but the build up and microtension can play out in so many situations and it just may help you be a better writer. Give it a try and see what your friends or family think.

We are coming into the full splendor of Autumn now. I’ve been so busy that I had to go offline for a couple of days. It is a great time to take an account of what I’ve learned.
I had hoped that my new book would be out for Halloween, but illness kept me from finishing the look-through at my editor’s edits, so now it’s going to be out before Christmas. I’m grateful that I’m still alive. It’s always good to find out that I don’t have cancer in another part of my body. Resting is vital to getting well. Sometimes you have to give in to rest. My body was spontaneously falling asleep which hasn’t happened since chemotherapy back in 2019. So far, knock on wood, I have been cancer-free for 4 and a half years. Darkness is Falling Paranormal-Scope
It is getting darker earlier. Maybe you haven’t noticed. Where I am, it’s been raining a lot and trees are changing colors. When I was a little girl, I believed it was a signal that the trees were ready for a long nap.

Faeries are spinning warm cloaks for winter. Go through your clothes. You may need a new coat.

Sprites love to run everywhere. Don’t be in such a hurry that you miss the fun in life.

Elves love their books and projects. Indulge in a pet project of yours.
