ANW's Meaningful Monday
What are you digging for? & What have you found?
Many "have dug" and continue to dig "their own cisterns, broken cisterns, that cannot hold water" (Jeremiah 2:13), leaving themselves worn out and dirty.
I, too, have done a lot of digging, and most of my digging has left me filthy, exhausted, and parched. Unfortunately, the last hole I dug caused me to have a heart attack. Since then, I have put the shovel down, and, now, drink from "the spring of living water" (2:13), where I stay clean, refreshed, and quenched; and continue in my efforts to help a Nursing fill its deep, dark holes with hope, goodness, kindness, prayer, care, compassion, knowledge, wisdom, help, support, and much more.
So, if you, too, are tired of getting dirty, might you consider quenching your thirst with the "spring of living water" (2:13) and see how healthy and whole your life will become. #NoMoreDigging

ANW's Savory Sunday
What keeps you running your race?
Everyone has their own race to run; and in order to keep running, whatever the pace, and finish, is having the guidance to be able to do so.
One of the races that I am running is a marathon, hoping would be a sprint, to end Nursing Incivility, as it continues to be tolerated and devastate the healthcare landscape. Regardless of its distance, I will continue to run as long as it takes to end it, because I, every day, "listen...to [my] father's instructions" (Proverbs 1:8) and know that He will do "what is right and just and fair" (1:3); and when He does, this will be my reward, no need for “a garland to grace [my] head [or] a chain to adorn [my] neck” (1:9).
So, whatever race you are running, might you, too, "fear the Lord" (Psalm 33:8) and run your personal best-the best race of your life. #KeepRunning & #WinBig

ANW's Soulful Saturday
What seeds are being planted in you?
Gardens are being seeded every day; yet, not all seeds grow at the same time, as some seeds may need more "wisdom" or "knowledge" (1 Corinthians 12:8) or "faith" or "healing" (12:9) to cultivate and mature.
My garden is still being sowed with seeds, daily; and I am, patiently, waiting for them to take hold and spread so they can choke out the toxicity that is spoiling healthcare. Until then, I will keep planting seeds and wait for God to make it grow (see 3:6), flourish, and sustain itself.
So, while you continue to grow your garden, might you consider letting those seeds take the time they need to develop; and when they are ready to harvest, He will let you know. #KeepSowingAndGrowing #SeedsOfSuccess

ANW's Fruitful Friday
How alive are you?
You can still be alive and not exist.
When I suffered a broken heart, from almost 20 years of Nursing Incivility, within Nursing academia, my life, suddenly, ceased to exist. For well over 6 months, I walked around aimlessly. Fortunately, what I thought I had lost, I found again. This non-existence created a new life of fullness and meaning. And, now, after almost 7, I can "hear" (Amos 5:1) and "live" (5:6) again, keep from turning "justice into bitterness" (5:7), continue to "seek good, not evil" (5:14), and "maintain justice" (5:15).
So, if you want to "live", might you, too, "seek the LORD" (5:6). #ChooseHim #ChooseLife

ANW's Thoughtful Thursday
What keeps your worries away?
Whether you "go up to the heavens" or "[you] make [your] bed in the depths, [he is] there" (Psalm 139:8). There is nothing that He does not see, hear, or know, as he is "familiar with all [your] ways" (139:3).
And, if you know this, then you need not worry, because "[his] hand will guide [you]...[and] will hold [you]" (139:10). I know this, because He took a great deal of mine away by helping me to find healthier ways of dealing with them, and one being Nursing Incivility that almost took my life.
So, whatever worries you have, might you consider letting Him take them.

ANW's Wisdom Wednesday
What do you keep ignoring?
Choosing to ignore the signs can be dangerous, even life threatening.
I know this, because I ignored several big signs for almost 18 years, the frequent temptation to drink, losing a child, and finally, a broken heart, thinking that the work environment would improve, but it didn't. And, even after the last knee dropping sign, I still considered going back to the toxic work environment; and even worse, my Director of Nursing wanted to know if I was coming back the following week.
I, finally, could not ignore what was going on anymore, because if I got right back up, I may go right back down and never get up again. The Lord found a way to make me quit ignoring the signs He was so graciously giving me.
Since that fateful day, I have learned to not ignore Him anymore. Each and every day, I, faithfully, "follow [him]" (Matthew 16:24), as He resides within me (see Acts 2:38-39). Never again will I "quench the spirit" (1 Thessalonians 5:19); but "rejoice always, pray continually" and "give thanks in all circumstances" (5:16-18).
So, if there are signs, which there probably are, might you see and acknowledge them, because He is trying to help you, just like He did for me.

ANW's Takeaway Tuesday
When do you pray out of desperation?
A Hail Mary is like a desperate prayer that is sometimes used as a last ditch effort.
Desperately seeking both help and answers came when I was driving to work, after having just been ambushed with and in a meeting right before Spring Break. While in the vehicle, I began talking to God asking him what to do. I did not want to go back to work, because I was scared of getting ambushed again. At work, less than 30 minutes, I suffered a heart attack in my office. Both my help and answers came, not the way I thought that they would, but they did.
Also, desperate, were Mary and Martha, regarding their brother, Lazarus. They desperately reached out to Jesus telling Him that "the one [he loves]" (John 11:3) was ill. Even after arriving 4 days after Lazarus died, Jesus told the sisters that "[their] brother [would] rise again" (11:23), and he did.
Sometimes Hail Marys work and sometimes they do not. Fortunately, both circumstances did. Desperate or not, He does hear every prayer, but chooses which ones He will answer; and those that He does, He does so intentionally and purposefully for those "who believe in [him]" (11:25).

ANW's Meaningful Monday
What grows you up?
Growing up is not easy, but necessary to survive and thrive in this challenging world; and helping you to do so is maturity.
For many years, almost 30, I thought I was mature enough to handle and help my profession, Nursing, But I wasn't. The more I tried to help, the worse it got. Trying to create healthy working conditions came at the expense of domination, gossip, shame, undermining, belittling, intimidation and much more; and finally, a stress induced heart attack for doing so.
It has not been until now, 7 years later, that I have developed a maturity, a spiritual one, that has provided me with the full armor of God to fight any battle or war on any given day. My armor is filled with an arsenal of prayer, protection, confidence, strength, and wisdom, which allows me to "not...be ashamed and...correctly [handle] the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15), "avoid godless chatter" (2:16), and "avoid foolish and ignorant disputes" (2:23 NKJV).
So, if you find yourself needing some spiritual maturity to help you grow too, might you “come to [your] senses and escape from the trap of the devil” (2:26) and flourish. #KeepGrowing & #MatureYourSpirit

How wise are your decisions?
Every choice has a consequence; and some have the ability to change your life as well as others.
Making the decision to eat from the one "tree that [they] were not allowed to eat" (Genesis 3:3) was Adam and Eve; and because of their choice every life is filled with sin and death (see Genesis 3). Also adding to the suffering is Nursing, where the well-being of both Nurses and patients are at risk, because of the allowed Incivility that continues to cause unnecessary stress, burnout, errors, health issues, and shortage.
As you can see, choices can have serious consequences, and in order to make the best decisions that you possibly can is having the wisdom to do so. Helping me make every one is The Lord, as He is my Counselor and Guide. So, if you, too, want to make good choices, might you give Him a chance. You can either make choices "that [lead] to life" or one's "that [lead] to destruction" (Matthew 7:13-14). #ChooseWiselyAndWell

How prepared are you?
It is better to prepare than to procrastinate; as the wise plan and keep "keep watch" (Matthew 25:13), while procrastinators run the risk of being "the foolish ones" (25:3).
Showing both were "ten virgins" (25:1). The "five" "wise" (25:2) "took oil in jars along with their lamps" (25:4), while the other "five" "foolish" (25:2) "did not take any oil with them" (25:3); and when "the bridegroom" (25:5) arrived, the wise virgins "went in with him to the wedding banquet" (25:10), while shutting out the foolish five, because their "lamps [were] going out" (25:8).
