ANW's Soulful Saturday
How prepared are you?
It is better to prepare than to procrastinate; as the wise plan and keep "keep watch" (Matthew 25:13), while procrastinators run the risk of being "the foolish ones" (25:3).
Showing both were "ten virgins" (25:1). The "five" "wise" (25:2) "took oil in jars along with their lamps" (25:4), while the other "five" "foolish" (25:2) "did not take any oil with them" (25:3); and when "the bridegroom" (25:5) arrived, the wise virgins "went in with him to the wedding banquet" (25:10), while shutting out the foolish five, because their "lamps [were] going out" (25:8).
So, if you do not want to miss out on anything, might you always be as prepared as you possibly can. #AlwaysPrepared & #ReadyToGo

ANW's Fruitful Friday
What treasure do you seek? & What treasure have you found?
Not all treasure is hidden, as the most valuable of all is found right within you. Giving you and me the greatest treasure in the world is having "God [having] given us eternal life" through "his Son" (1 John 5:11).
I have known of this unhidden treasure all of my life; and yet, I did not know the extent of its vast riches. This treasure, over many years, has blessed me with an incredible husband and sons, helped me cope and deal with family and friends, and saved my life through workplace Incivility within Nursing.
So, if you believe your "life" to be treasure, might you, too, "believe in the name of the Son of God" (1 John 5:13). For He is the greatest treasure ever and will lavish you with whatever riches you desire. #ALifeFilledWithTreasure

ANW's Thoughtful Thursday
Who is always in your corner?
Life is like a boxing match, where all battles are fought, resulting in victories and losses, and, sometimes, split decisions. And, while in the ring, there is one person who is always, in your corner, rooting and fighting for you, providing you with the support you need to knockout your opponent.
My biggest fight and victory came with a direct blow to my heart, which almost killed me. Yet, He was in my corner and never left my side, especially while I recovered, as he was right there strengthening and protecting me while I worked to become a better and more resilient fighter.
David's life, too, was a battle, as he was threatened by a king and his own son (see 1 Samuel 23:14; 24:1; and 2 Samuel 15:13-37); and the first person he "earnestly [sought]" (Psalm 63:1) to "help" (63:7) him fight his opponents, was God, because he knew his "power" and "glory" (63:2).
So, no matter the match, God is ready to help you fight and win, as there is no better person to have in your corner. #AlwaysAUnanimousDecision

ANW's Wisdom Wednesday
What keeps you growing?
Growth continues throughout life; and how much is determined by you. Real growth is seen in the struggle, as it teaches, molds, and develops you, as reflected in your confidence, focus, presence, strength, wisdom, and knowledge.
I have found this to be true, especially in my thirty year struggle with trying to create and advocate for healthy work environments, within Nursing; and because of this I am "being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory" (2 Corinthians 3:18).
So, if you would like to keep growing, might you continue to embrace the struggle and use it for your benefit and to your advantage. For each struggle will prove invaluable in every aspect and encounter of your life's journey. #GrowInGlory

ANW's Takeaway Tuesday
Who do you pray for?
Every single day, I pray for my family, and the rest of the world, to keep us all safe, happy, and healthy. And, in doing so, I have seen my prayers save lives, heal, renew, transform, protect, change, open new doors, and touch hearts.
Also knowing the power of prayer was Samuel; and despite the unfaithfulness of God's people, Samuel still prayed for them (see 1 Samuel 12:23); and counseled them to “fear the Lord and serve him faithfully” (12:24).
I, too, like Samuel, ask for your prayers to help, heal, and end the toxic work environment that continues to devastate Nursing. For when we "pray for one another" (James 5:17), we see His handiwork in action. #IncludeEveryone

ANW’s Meaningful Monday
What keeps you up at night?
Work and relationships can rob you of your sleep, if you let them. Interrupting my sleep, for many years, has been Nursing Incivility. And, being at my wits end, I finally asked the Lord, just like David did with his son (see Psalm 3), “how many are my foes” (3:1); and shortly after, He answered me with an in-office heart attack, at 46 years old.
I, now, seven years removed, sleep better than I ever have before, because He “lifts [my] head” (3:3) and “sustains me” (3:5); and helps me fight the foes that continue to resist civility. So, if you are not sleeping well, might you consider asking Him for help so you can “lie down and sleep” (3:5). #GetYourZs & #SleepWell

What keeps your household in order?
To maintain a home takes work, each and every day; and when it is not cared for, things begin to break down. Messy and broken is Nursing, as it has let itself go by leaving filth and build-up, aka incivility, everywhere, along with countless broken fixtures, aka Nurses.
Still, after many years, trying to help clean up and mend broken fixtures “for [my] family” (Proverbs 31:10, 15), has been met with much resistance. But, with prayer and persistence, two powerful cleaning agents, I am still trying.
So, if you need help getting your household in order, and get rid of the dirt and grime, might you seek insight from “a [woman] of noble character” (12:4, 31:10) who can show you how. #CleanHouse #WithCare

ANW's Soulful Saturday
What do you do with interruptions?
Life is filled with interruptions, which may seem annoying and inconvenient, but may really be providing you with insight, clarification, and direction that you need.
One of my interruptions came with a heart attack, in my office at work, stopping me almost dead in my tracks, because for almost 18 years, I did not listen to the previous others, as I continued to be beaten down by uncivil professions trying to improve a toxic work environment.
Finally, this interruption changed my life forever. After 7 years, I am the CEO of A Nurse Warrior Enterprises, LLC, an author, a daily blogger, and a Creator of Recycled, Repurposed & Renewed products, working to help a broken profession, Nursing, become whole again. This brokenness has made me a better version of myself; and I owe it all to the Interrupter, God.
Even though the cost is always high when trying to do good, it is worth the sacrifice. God thought so with us, as he, too, sacrificed his only son for you and me; and if we, too, can reciprocate, and "take [up] his cross and follow [him]" (Matthew 10:38), then it is worth the hurt to be able to help. Might you join me, A Nurse Warrior, and fight for saving a profession and human lives. #WelcomeTheInterruptions #WorthEveryPenny

How do you identify the "little foxes"? & When you catch the "little foxes, what do you do with them?
If you pay attention, you can identify the "little foxes that ruin the vineyards" (Song of Songs 2:15). For to many years, I have watched and continue to watch the "little foxes" that invade and continue to "ruin the vineyards", Nursing, as they pick off the grapes, nurses, one by one, causing harm to millions with "bitterness" (Hebrews 12:15), "unwholesome language" (Ephesians 4:29), and "bad company" (1 Corinthians 15:33) without consequence.
With this chronic nuisance, A Nurse Warrior continues to work, every day, to "catch...the little foxes" that continue to ravage its grapes and ruin its vineyards.
So, if you, too, want to keep your vineyards healthy and fox free, might you let God help you catch and destroy them. #RemoveThePestsAndPrey

ANW's Thoughtful Thursday
What helps you find your purpose?
Prayer leads to purpose, where both wisdom and counsel are found; and going "off to a solitary place" (Mark 1:35 NIV) to do so was Jesus. These prayer sessions determined "why [He came]" (1:38), to go "to the nearby villages" "so [He could] preach" (1:38).
Because of Him, he led me to mine; and, through prayer, that is to continue to keep fighting for healthy work environments, especially within Nursing, in an effort make the necessary changes needed to keep the profession from becoming extinct.
So, if you are struggling to find your purpose, might you, too, consider making Him your #1 priority, prayer, because when you do, the rest will reveal itself (see Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).
